Opening Contest: Bojack, Morgan Dash and BK Westbrook vs. Sinner & Saint and Trevor Lee
Trevor Lee toys with Morgan Dash at the start, but Dash turns it around on him with speed causing Lee to tag out to Judas Icarus. Bojack with a blind tag and just runs through Icarus, then tags out to BK Westbrook. Middle-rope bulldog followed by Bo-Dash doing some double teaming. This brings in Lee and Travis Williams to give the heel side control. Sinner And Saint go to work with a bodyslam getting two on Dash. Lee hits a low dropkick, then tags in Williams who hits a back suplex for two.
Morgan tries to fight out of the corner and gets the tag to Westbrook. Double springboard back elbow to Sinner & Saint and a neckbreaker combo. BK heads up only to get shoved off by Lee. Tag is made to Bojack who takes out all three members of the heel side. Falcon Arrow to Lee gets two. Lee, Icarus and Williams triple team Bojack eventually taking him down but can’t get the pin. Dash has had enough and snaps off a rana on Lee, then takes a Professional Lariat from Williams and a German from Lee. Westbrook breaks up the pin attempt.
Superkick to Williams and rebound lariat to Icarus. BK with a tope suicida to the floor and fights to the back with Trevor Lee. Bojack Driver to Icarus and Dash follows with a Shooting Star Press for the win. Pretty much nonstop action. ***¼

Match Two: Hyan and Lena Kross vs. Emersyn Jayne and Dani Luna
Lena Kross is impressive looking with her entrance and presentation (and height). She starts with Emersyn Jayne, with Emersyn getting the advantage with a crossbody for two. Inverted meteora gets two. Hyan runs interference and battles with Dani Luna on the floor. Kross with a low lariat for two. Tag to Hyan who lands a running knee for two.
Jayne makes the tag but the referee was distracted and doesn’t allow it. She manages to fight off both Kross and Hyan to finally get the tag to Luna who lands a missile dropkick to Hyan. A pair fallaway slams and a powerbomb on Kross gets two. Jayne and Hyan tag in and Hyan gets a Glam Slam for two. Dani hops back in to face off with Hyan.
Big boot from Luna but she gets cut off with a big boot from Kross who is now legal. Jayne with a German suplex to Hyan but misses a moonsault and gets speared. Kross gets a sitout driver and a shoulderbreaker for two. Luna tags in along with Hyan. Miscommunication as Hyan spears Kross. Luna with a German suplex and Luna Landing for the win. **¼

Match Three: Manny Lo vs. Leon Slater
Manny Lo with a slap after some trash talk early which leads to Leon Slater lighting him up with chops and a handspring back elbow. Slater gets a rana and pescado to the floor. To the top where Manny knocks him down and then charges him into the barricade on the floor. Lo then bodyslams Slater to the floor in a nasty looking bump.
Superkick and a dive over the top to the floor from Manny. The fans rally Slater to beat the ten count back to the ring. Slater comes back with a slingshot cutter and big boot, followed by a twisting suplex for two. Legdrop on the apron and big crossbody splash for two from Slater. Leon looks for the Styles Clash but Lo is able to escape it and land a high knee and enzuigiri.
Manny gets a powerbomb and then a crucifix bomb for a close two. Rolling elbow and a low dropkick from Lo, but Slater pops back up and hits the Styles Clash this time. Swanton 450 Splash connects for the Slater victory. Really good match. ***¾

Match Four: DPW Women’s World Championship – Nicole Matthews (c) vs. Queen Aminata
Queen Aminata won the Battle of the Best finals to earn this shot, and is undefeated in DPW. A series of exchanges start us off mostly to a stalemate. We head out to the floor for some brawling with Aminata on the offense. She misses a kick however and Nicole Matthews goes to work on the left leg with a chair.
The champion continues to work on the left knee back inside. Aminata fights back with clotheslines and a flsherman’s suplex. Penalty kick gets two for the Queen. They fight in the corner where Matthews gets hung up and kicked in the face for her troubles. Two.count for the challenger, who then locks in a crossface. Matthews makes the ropes to break.
The champ catches a kick and turns it into a Single Leg Crab. Aminata makes the ropes, eats a kick and levels Matthews with a forearm putting both women down. Clothesline from the champion and a brainbuster for two. Aminata back with an Air Raid Crash and heads to the top where Matthews meets her and hits a superplex for two. The champion takes a swig of wine, but the ref steals the bottle before she can use it. Aminata gets the Queen’s Crown and Off With Your Head to win the title! ***¼
After the match Dani Luna offers congratulations to the new champion and they face off. Matthews then cracks the wine bottle over the head of Luna. Emersyn Jayne runs out to attack Matthews and then Hyan and Kross join in on the party for a big brawl.

Match Five: DPW National Championship – Labron Kozone (c) vs. Calvin Tankman
Calvin Tankman with the strength advantage, but Labron Kozone uses his quickness to land a shouldertackle and they head outside. Tope suicida attempted by Kozone, but Tankman catches him and throws him into the ringpost. Tankman then gets a running powerbomb into the guardrail which looked painful.
Tankman misses a splash inside and Kozone suplexes him into the corner buckles. Kick to the chest and a senton hits knees. Tankman charges but gets caught and given an impressive Michinoku Driver. Kozone hits Ballgame but Tankman rolls out to the floor. Spinning back kick is shrugged off by Tankman who gets the spinning back elbow, which is no-sold by Kozone. But another and a powerbomb get two for the challenger. Tankman Driver connects but only gets two.
With everyone stunned, Calvin looks for a top-rope moonsault. Kozone meets him up there but gets backdropped off and Tankman gets the moonsault…for two. Tankman Driver is avoided and Kozone hits three.Ballgame’s to retain. Man those last few minutes were something else. ***½

Match Six: Roderick Strong vs. Erick Stevens
Roddy gets a pretty big pop for his entrance. Mat wrestlng at the outset as you’d expect. A chop exchange and a leg lariat by Strong, but Stevens comes back with a diving forearm to the floor. More loud chops on the floor where Roddy gets a low dropkick to the floor, and then drops Stevens back-first on the guardrail with Stevens hitting the floor HARD.
More chops that would make Ric Flair proud, and Strong gets a suplex for one. Beautiful dropkick by Roddy gets two. Uranage into a backbreaker for two. Roddy locks in a Camel Clutch next and then a series of running forearms ending with an Olympic Slam for another two count. Stevens shrugs off a forearm and gets a rolling forearm strike of his own to take Roddy down and give himself a moment to breathe.
Powerslam into the turnbuckles, followed by a corner clothesline and side suplex for two. More forearms from Stevens and an Air Raid Crash gets another two. Jumping knees from Roddy now and a Gibson Driver gets two. They head to the top turnbuckle where Strong gets a clean superplex. Stevens powers up however and hits a clothesline and Doctor Bomb for a close two. I can’t type what the crowd is chanting but let’s just say they are enjoying the match.
Jumping knee strike and End of Heartache are delivered for the Strong win. Everything that you’d expect from these two. ****
Post-match, Roddy puts over Stevens and heads out. But the lights go out and Bryan Keith appears. Stevens extends his hand and Keith tips his hat instead. Stevens gets a nice ovation from the fans.

Match Seven: Ladder Match for the DPW World Tag Team Championships – Miracle Generation (c) vs. Violence is Forever vs. Grizzled Young Veterans
The Workhorsemen were scheduled for this in a 4-way but were not medically cleared to compete. Grizzled Young Veterans get ganged up on and sent packing. Violence Is Forever then decimate Kylon King ending in a doublestomp from Kevin Ku. The Vets return with James Drake hitting an impressive dropkick. King gets a double suplex and Miracle Generation send the Vets to the floor.
King with a moonsault to the floor landing right next to a ladder. Dustin Waller slams Dominic Garrini on the side of a ladder and King suplexes Drake. Garrini launches a ladder into Waller as he was climbing for some sweet revenge. MG hit an assisted powerbomb on Ku onto a ladder. Garrini suplexes King, launching a ladder in the process. GYV take out Ku with a spiked piledriver on the floor (yikes) and pull out some tables.
The champions set up GYV on said tables and hit tandem splashes from ladders through the tables. VIF destroy King with a ladder shot/brainbuster combo but can’t get the belts. Waller takes them both on, tightrope walking a ladder bridge and ultimately getting package pildriven by Garrini. That was about as clean looking as you can get on a move like that.
VIF climb and get hit with chairs from GYV who are still amongst the living. Double low blow from Gibson and Drake and they trap VIF inside a ladder and pound it with chair shots. GYV climb but King cuts them off as the ladder is barely hanging on for life. Waller gets a springboard cutter on Gibson from the ladder and King fights off Drake to capture the belts to retain. Good ladder match with some crazy spots. ***¾

Main Event: Steel Cage Match DPW World Heavyweight Championship – Adam Priest (c) vs. Jake Something
As per I’m a nerd and these things interest me, the cage is chain link style with black steel poles. Jake Something won the Carolina Classic to earn this shot at the title he never lost. Adam Priest takes his time getting into the cage reluctantly.
Something tosses the champion to the cage and Priest furiously tries to climb out. Instead he gets sent into the cage ten times in a row and is not surprisingly now bleeding. Something dives but Priest moves sending himself into the cage. Priest gets a tornado DDT for one. Something swings wildly and hits the cage, so Priest goes to work on the left arm to inflict more damage. Single leg crab is applied, which has made Something pass out in a prior match, but he kicks out of it.
Something gets a Burning Hammer and powerbomb for two. Priest tries a low blow which is blocked and Something lands Into the Void. Trevor Lee runs out to cause a distraction and hits Something with a chair from the outside of the cage. As Lee goes to climb into the cage, the babyface locker room comes out to pull him away. The champion absolutely clocks Something with a chair to the head.
More chairshots to the back follow as Something is now busted open too. Priest gets into a shoving match with the referee, then puts the single leg crab back on. Something looks close to passing out but keeps the arm up. Piledriver by the champion gets two. Priest dives off the top with another chair to the head, and Something somehow shrugs that off and runs through the champ with shoulderblocks. A chop block puts Something down, as does a low blow.
Priest climbs to the top of the cage but is met up there by Something. Super sitout powerbomb from the top finishes for Something to win the title! This was a great cage match, with the story of Priest trying to pull out all the stops to keep the title, but Something was too strong in the end. ****¼
Final Thoughts: Super Battle more than lived up to the hype. Two title changes in both the Men’s and Women’s division, plus a fun ladder match for the tag titles. Throw in an old school Strong vs. Stevens match, Kozone/Tankman and Lo/Slater and this is a card worth going out of your way to see.
