From the weekend of Friday, October 24th, through Sunday, October 26th, we saw an abundance of independent wrestling shows from all over the world. From the likes of Focus Pro, Chaotic Wrestling, Metroplex Wrestling, PROGRESS Wrestling, and Game Changer Wrestling, here are five must-see matches that every fan of independent wrestling should go back and check out.

5. Griffin McCoy vs. Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) from Focus Pro’s “Welcome To The Black Parade

Kicking off the list, Griffin McCoy went to battle with Channing Thomas, who was accompanied by his manager, Sidney Bakabella, at this past Saturday’s Focus Pro Wrestling event, “Welcome To The Black Parade.” From top to bottom, this show was an absolute blast. However, this was the match that really stuck out to me. Griffin McCoy and Channing Thomas are two of the most underrated, but top guys around today. Both have been showcasing their talents on the independent scene for quite some time now, but sometimes they tend to fly under the radar on the nationally known scale. Without giving too much away, this match was a ton of fun. McCoy and Thomas have some very good chemistry together in the ring. Thomas has become one of my favorite acts around today, especially with his partnership with Sidney Bakabella. Bakabella is the best manager around today, and it’s not close … like, at all. This was a fun one, and I highly recommend checking this one out. It will be available on the Focus Pro VOD channel on IWTV shortly.

4. Arcturus vs. Shannon LeVangie from Chaotic Wrestling’s “Hellbound”

Next up, we saw Arcturus put his Chaotic Wrestling New England Championship on the line against Shannon LeVangie on Friday night at Chaotic Wrestling’s “Hellbound” event. Since returning from injury, LeVangie has looked incredibly sharp in the ring. Since she started training at the New England Pro Wrestling Academy, LeVangie has become a staple at Chaotic Wrestling. She has become someone that fans can resonate with. This ultimately made her the biggest babyface in the promotion. As for Arcturus, he’s brilliant. Formerly Max Smashmaster, he is currently a trainer at NEPWA. He is a mentor to many people, portraying an amazing and powerful leader of the group, God’s Greatest Creations. This was a classic “David vs. Goliath” match. While that is an incredibly overplayed trope in wrestling today, this one worked. LeVangie and Arcturus absolutely crushed it, telling a great story in the process. Go back and check this one out, for free, on the Chaotic Wrestling YouTube and Twitch channel.

3. Kris Statlander vs. Maya World vs. Londyn Dior from Metroplex Wrestling’s “Who Runs The World? 2”

Next on the list, we saw Kris Statlander, Maya World, and Londyn Dior compete in three-way action at Metroplex Wrestling’s “Who Runs The World? 2” on Saturday night. I’m the first one to criticize companies that prioritize television talent over their own homegrown stars, especially those that use TV stars to sell tickets and shower them with all the gold. However, this match is an exception. Statlander, World, and Dior looked amazing in this three-way match. We all know how great Statlander is; we see that every Wednesday night as she represents AEW as the Women’s World Champion. However, I want to delve further into World and Dior. World and Dior are two of the top women on the independent wrestling scene today. Their stock is reaching new heights, and they are truly breakout stars to watch for in 2026. Maya has been all over the world showcasing her talents, and rightfully so, as she’s just fantastic at what she does in the ring and out. Dior is still growing her brand, but she, without a doubt, will be just as successful as Maya is. Both Dior and Maya are truly fantastic talents, and I urge everyone to go support them in whatever they have coming up. Truly remarkable talents. Go back and watch this one on the MPX Wrestling Twitch channel.

2. Rhio vs. Rayne Leverkusen from PROGRESS Wrestling’s “Chapter 185: Jump In The Line”

The number two match on this list saw Rhio put her PROGRESS Women’s World Championship on the line against Rayne Leverkusen at PROGRESS Wrestling’s “Chapter 185: Jump In The Line” on Sunday. This match marked Leverkusen’s first singles shot at Rhio for the top prize in the women’s division in PROGRESS Wrestling. Sunday’s event saw a ton of great matches, including Hyperactive vs. LALLIE, Man Like DeReiss vs. “Blackheart” Lio Rush, and the triangle ladder match main event. However, this match was the one that stole the show. Since coming back from injury, we’ve seen Leverkusen look better than she ever has, which is saying something because she’s never been bad or even average. Now, she’s just downright incredible in the ring. Taking nothing away from Rhio, who is also one of the best women’s wrestlers to come out of the UK. Looking at both women, this was a match made in heaven, and it lived up to the hype and then some. These two women went to a 30-minute war over the top prize in PROGRESS Wrestling with a SHOCKING ending. So, who won? That’s for you to find out. Go back and check this one out on TrillerTV+.

1. Charles Mason vs. Atticus Cogar from GCW’s “Shotzi Blackheart’s House of Horrors”

The number one match on this list saw Charles Mason battle Atticus Cogar at Game Changer Wrestling’s “Shotzi Blackheart’s House of Horrors” event on Friday night. This marked the first one-on-one match between these two unhinged individuals. While a standard, regular singles match would have been great, Shotzi and GCW decided to have some fun with this one. They turned this one into a casket match, which was perfect for Mason and Cogar. This was just an outstanding match between two of the best Game Changer Wrestling has today. The only thing I would have changed is having the GCW World Championship be a part of the match. But, I digress, this was just a great match. Krule returned, Slade was there, and this was just a violent, dangerous, and unhinged match. Mason is truly on the best run of his career, and it’s been so much fun to see. As for Cogar, since he made his return to GCW, he’s been on a different level. These two truly deserve praise and flowers for their performance in this one. Go back and check it out on TrillerTV+.
