From Friday, November 21st, through Sunday, November 23rd, professional wrestling on the independent scene was at a time. From events in New Jersey to Chicago, to the West Coast, the independent wrestling scene was flooded with talent. We saw several big matches, including one of the biggest title changes on the entire independent wrestling scene. From the likes of Game Changer Wrestling, to Wrestling Revolver and ARRIVAL Wrestling’s joint event, to House Of Glory, to DEFY Wrestling, these are five must-see matches from this past weekend that any fan should go back and check out.

5. EFFY vs. Atticus Cogar vs. Charles Mason from GCW’s “Dream On”

Kicking off this list, we saw EFFY put his Game Changer Wrestling World Championship on the line against Atticus Cogar and Charles Mason on Saturday, November 22nd, when Game Changer Wrestling made its return to the American Dream Mall for its big event, “Dream On.” The event came to us live from New Jersey and was hands down one of GCW’s biggest shows of the entire year. The card just felt bigger than most, and it’s very easy to see why when you see some of the talent on the card, including the Major Players, Killer Kross, BearDozer, facing off with two ECW legends in Rhino and Tommy Dreamer, and so much more. However, perhaps the best match on the entire card saw EFFY put his GCW World Championship up for grabs against Cogar and Mason. This match was supposed to be different, as EFFY was scheduled to face the winner of Cogar and Mason. However, EFFY, showing himself to be a fighting champion, wanted to make it a three-way match. The match itself was fantastic. It was chaotic in the best way possible. There were so many outside factors in this one, but above everything, it was a tremendous match, with the right winner crowned champion. If you want to see everything that GCW stands for, which makes them stand out from the other promotions, go back and check this one out on TrillerTV+. It was downright awesome from start to finish.

4. Steve Maclin vs. Kevin Blackwood from Wrestling Revolver x ARRIVAL Wrestling’s “WrestleKombat”

Next on this list, on Friday, we saw Steve Maclin, one of Wrestling Revolver’s best talents and the current TNA International Champion, put his TNA International Championship on the line against one of the best technical wrestlers around today, Kevin Blackwood. If you’re not familiar with Blackwood, he’s held his own against some of the very best in the world of professional wrestling, including Kenta, Penta, Karl Fredericks, and so many other top stars inside the world of professional wrestling. Maclin is showcasing his talents on a different scale, starting in WWE but now showing how damn good he is on the independent scene and in TNA. Forget everything you thought you knew about Maclin from his time in NXT; he’s so much more than that, and he’s the perfect guy to build a company around. It’s awesome to see Blackwood getting more notice, too, as he’s one of the most talented in the ring, bell-to-bell. Go back and check this one out on TrillerTV+. You won’t be disappointed.

3. Mustafa Ali vs. Marcus Mathers from House of Glory’s “Return To The Windy City”

When House of Glory made its return to Chicago on Friday, we saw one of Chicago’s best, Mustafa Ali, go one-on-one with WWE ID prospect, Marcus Mathers. Much of what I wrote above about Maclin can be said about Mustafa Ali. Ali was in WWE for a while, but it wasn’t until after he returned to the independent wrestling scene that he was able to showcase his talents. That’s in no way a dig on his time in WWE. He did a lot in WWE, and he showed out with what he was given. However, Ali’s recent independent wrestling run is a whole different animal. As for Mathers, he’s someone I began following a while back. He’s grown tremendously in the ring since he was picked up by WWE for their big ID Prospect program. He’s always been talented; the only difference is that now the world is beginning to see what we independent wrestling fans already knew. Go back and check out House of Glory’s “Return To The Windy City” on TrillerTV+. The whole show was awesome, but be sure to keep an eye out for this match.

2. Bryan Keith vs. Cody Chhun from DEFY Wrestling’s “AEON 2”

Number two on this list saw Bryan Keith defend his DEFY World Championship against Cody Chhun on Friday night as DEFY Wrestling returned to the Washington Hall in Seattle, WA. This match could have easily been the main event. Keith and Chhun had an instant classic for the top prize in DEFY, which was sadly ruined by The Sovereign. However, that takes nothing away from what we saw these two men put on in the ring. Keith and Chhun went close to 30 minutes in this one, with each competitor looking like they had this match won on multiple occasions. Chhun is someone who was known as a tag team wrestler for a while in C4, but recently, we’ve really seen him shine in singles action. Chhun holds his own with the best of them, and that’s exactly what we saw with Keith. As for Keith, he’s one of the most talented guys in professional wrestling today, regardless of how he’s booked on AEW. Keith, on the independent wrestling scene, is a whole other animal. If you want to see what Keith does better than anyone, go back and check this one out on TrillerTV+. This match wasn’t the main event, but it very well could, and should, have been.

1. Bear Bronson vs. Krule from Wrestling Revolver x ARRIVAL Wrestling’s “WrestleKombat”

Number one on this list takes us back to the joint event between Wrestling Revolver and ARRIVAL Wrestling, “WrestleKombat.” The main event of the show saw a modern-day monster movie, Godzilla vs. King Kong, come to life, as Bear Bronson squared off with Krule in a Kaiju Deathmatch. This was a very violent affair in the best way possible. While both Bronson and Krule have met before in singles action, this was BY FAR their best meeting. It was bloody, brutal, and violent. Anything that wasn’t nailed down in the arena, they tried to use on each other. Without spoiling or giving too much away, if you want to watch a war, I highly recommend you go back and check this one out. Bronson has been showing everyone in his return to the independent wrestling scene why they shouldn’t even consider what he did in AEW to be his ceiling. He’s truly so much better than anything he’s done in that company. As for Krule, he remains a monster movie villain come to life. This was a fantastic main event to cap off with a great show. The whole show was outright insane, but this match truly capped it off in the best way possible. Krule and Bronson showed exactly what Revolver is all about: great wrestling, but also the ability to go to war with one another. Go back and check out this entire event, and especially the main event on TrillerTV+.
