From the likes of Friday, December 12th, through Sunday, December 14th, professional wrestling on the independent wrestling scene was alive and well. From the likes of Blitzkrieg! Pro, Game Changer Wrestling, Freelance Wrestling, Wrestling Revolver, and Jersey Championship Wrestling, here are five must-see matches that fans of professional wrestling should go back and check out from this past weekend on their respective streaming platforms.

5. Spike Nishimura vs. Allie Katch from Blitzkrieg! Pro “Angels With Filthy Souls”
Kicking off the list, we saw Spike Nishimura go one-on-one with Allie Katch this past Saturday at Blitzkrieg! Pro’s big event, “Angels With Filthy Souls.” I’ve been fortunate enough to follow Nishimura’s career for quite some time now, and after her tour in Japan with the Sendai Girls, she returned as a completely different and much more confident wrestler. She’s just been on a whole other level. As for her opponent, Katch is currently re-introducing herself to some fans following her scary injury last January at GCW in the Hammerstein Ballroom. The good news is Katch hasn’t missed a step in the ring. She remains as talented as she was before, if not more so. Both Nishimura and Katch gelled very well together in this one and more than deserve their flowers for this showing. Go back and check this one out on the Blitzkrieg! Pro VOD channel on IWTV when the show gets published.

4. Bear Bronson vs. Otis Cogar from GCW’s “Nick Gage Invitational X”
Next up, we saw the 10th Nick Gage Invitational take place on Saturday evening, as GCW returned to Orlando, FL, for “Nick Gage Invitational X.” The event was as bloody and brutal as it came, and saw quite a few really good fights. Perhaps none were better than Bear Bronson’s bout with Otis Cogar in the finals of the tournament. Bear Bronson has been reintroducing himself to wrestling fans following his AEW departure, and to say he’s been on another level is the understatement of the century. Bronson is doing things that many fans didn’t even realize he could do. 2025 has been the reintroduction year of Bronson, but 2026 may be the YEAR of Bear. As for Otis Cogar, Cogar has been showing fans all year that, although his brother is the top dog in GCW, he’s not one to be forgotten. Cogar has shown up and showed out multiple times this year, and he more than deserves his praise for these performances. If I were booking the NGIX tournament, this would remain the perfect finals match-up to me. Two big, violent, hosses going at it. This match ruled. 3. Devon Monroe vs. Bryan Keith from Freelance Wrestling’s “Pin Em”
Also on Saturday, we saw Freelance Wrestling return to the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, IL, for its big event, “Pin Em.” The main event of the show saw Devon Monroe put his Freelance Wrestling World Championship on the line against the “Bounty Hunter,” Bryan Keith. Monroe has been having a plethora of fantastic performances for the top prize in Freelance Wrestling, most recently against Dani Luna, a match that also found its way onto one of these lists. This match was not much different from that, as it was another fantastic showing for the Freelance Wrestling World Champion. As for Keith, it’s sometimes easy to forget how good he is when watching him on AEW TV. They have a very bloated wrestler, and not everyone gets a true chance to shine (i.e., Bear Bronson). However, this was yet another reminder that Keith can put on an amazing match with anyone you put in front of him. Go back and check this one out, now available, on the Freelance Wrestling VOD channel on IWTV.

2. Steve Maclin vs. Damian Chambers (w/ Kayla Kassidy) vs. Rich Swann vs. Gringo Loco vs. Jake Something vs. Jake Crist from Wrestling Revolver’s “Season Finale 2025”
Also on Saturday, which was a very busy day, we saw Wrestling Revolver return to the Horizon Events Center in Des Moines, IA, for its big event, “Season Finale.” This marked one of Revolver’s final shows of the year. One of the biggest matches on the show saw Steve Maclin, Damian Chambers, Rich Swann, Gringo Loco, Jake Something, and Jake Crist square off in a #1 Contenders match for the Revolver World Championship. This was a “who’s who” type of match. This match saw six of the top stars in Wrestling Revolver vie for a shot at the top prize in the promotion. This six-way match was by far the best match on this card, with a close second being the match that kicked off the show between The Rascalz and Latinos Most Wanted. Everyone in this match had a true chance to win the match, and it truly felt like all six competitors could have won this match at one point or another. A top-tier match with top-tier talent. 1. Darian Bengston vs. Eli Knight from JCW’s “Roundball Rock”
On Sunday, Jersey Championship Wrestling returned to The Mecca in Ridgefield Park, NJ, for its big event, “Roundball Rock.” The show saw a ton of great action, including Charles Mason challenging Billie Starkz for her JCW World Championship, Ryan Clancy squaring off with Matt Mako to qualify for the 2026 Jersey J-Cup, and Darian Bengston squaring off with Eli Knight for another shot to qualify for the 2026 Jersey J-Cup. Darian Bengston has been on another level lately, defeating Tim Bosby very recently to win the ACTION Wrestling World Championship. He’s certainly one to keep an eye on in 2026. As for Eli Knight, he is one of WWE ID’s newest prospects, and for good reason, too. The stuff Knight can do in the ring, and how fluid he is, it’s truly only a matter of time before he’s on our TV screens. I’m sure Bengston will also reach that level before all is said and done. Go back and check this one out anytime available on the Game Changer Wrestling, GCW, YouTube channel. These JCW shows have some of the best talent up and down the East Coast (we saw guys based out of Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, so it’s not just Northeast-based talent). Well worth checking out.
