Cabana Man Dan has retired from professional wrestling.
Last night in Gadsden, Alabama, the 24 year professional wrestling career of Cabana Man Dan came to an end.
Cabana Man Dan held the New South Tag Team Championships twice and the New South Heavyweight Championship twice as well. He was also the inaugural IWA Deep South Heavyweight Champion back in 2006.
CMD took to social media to reflect on the end of his career.
“Evie, success is often thought about as how much money you have, your status, fame, or being a superstar. Real success is being surrounded by people who love and support you. That is what truly matters.”
I made it. Thank you to everyone who came and supported New South, Dump Sanders for never giving up on me and having one hell of a run as my tag team partner and one of my closest friends and allies. Tyler Franks, Hunter Drake, Garrett Kent, Adam Hunter, theres no one I could be happier with to share my last and best tag match I’ve had! To all wrestlers who busted their butts all day and night yesterday, and to my wife Amanda for going above and beyond for the past 16 years. And fans, family, peers, and friends who came out and exploded our previous attendance record at The Venoe, I love you all.
And all the shout out videos from a dude i met in a pokemon chat room 25 years ago, to Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, WOW. Thank you.
I feel whole and complete. Nothing feels better.
