On the final weekend before Christmas, Independent kicked off things early on Thursday. From the West Coast to the East Coast, we saw some fantastic matches. From the likes of Chaotic Wrestling, House of Glory, West Coast Pro, Greektown Wrestling, and Wrestling Revolver, here are five must-see matches that every fan of professional wrestling should go back and check out.

5. Arcturus vs. Milo Mirra from Chaotic Wrestling’s “Holiday Hijack”

On Saturday, Chaotic Wrestling returned to Watertown, MA, for its big event, “Holiday Hijack.” The event saw a ton of great action as the upcoming Pandemonium match began to fill out, and the main event, which saw Mortar put his Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. However, the most fun match of the night saw Arcturus put his Chaotic Wrestling New England Championship on the line against long-time rival, Milo Mirra. Mirra has been in the “GGC” storyline for the better part of 2025. He’s become somewhat of the ultimate underdog at Chaotic Wrestling, and on Saturday, he had a chance to make history, becoming the new Chaotic Wrestling New England Champion. However, for Mirra to accomplish that feat, he would have a very tall and big mountain to climb as the champion, Arcturus, had a death grip on that title. In wrestling, it doesn’t matter how big your opponent is, and that was on full display in this one. Mirra went to war to finally finish his story with the former leader of the GGC, Arcturus. For Mirra, this came at a perfect time too, as the GGC recently disbanded with Jariel Rivera and Sister Selena going in their own directions. This match certainly did not disappoint. Despite his “heel-ish” character, Arcturus is a trainer at the New England Pro Wrestling Academy and has his hands in seeing these young guns grow in the ring. Formerly known as Max Smashmaster, Arcturus more than deserves his flowers for this one. One of the biggest, baddest, and scariest heels in Chaotic Wrestling, and it’s easy to see why. However, Mirra wasn’t going to back down. Go back and check this one out on the Chaotic Wrestling YouTube and Twitch channels to see how it plays out.

4. Charles Mason vs. Mustafa Ali from House of Glory’s “Winter Warfare”

Also on Saturday, House of Glory returned to the NYC Arena in New York, NY, for its big event, “Winter Warfare.” This marked House of Glory’s final event of 2025 and final show in New York until February of 2026. So, you know, House of Glory was going to have to go out with a bang, and they certainly did that. In the main event of the show, Charles Mason put his HOG World Championship on the line against Mustafa Ali. Mason has been killing it as HOG World Champion, finally getting the recognition he deserves. He has picked up wins over the likes of Cedric Alexander, Dezmond Xavier, Man Like DeReiss, Carlito, and Mike Santana. His reign is now at 196 days, and he has no signs of slowing down. As for Ali, he’s been on a whole other level since he returned to the independent wrestling scene and to TNA Wrestling. Ali is one of the best wrestlers, bell-to-bell, and that’s not really up for debate. The stuff that man can do in the ring and out, proves he’s one of the most talented in the professional wrestling world today. House of Glory set out to close 2025 on a high note with these two, and they more than succeeded, we even got a massive return after the match to House of Glory to tease the next program for the HOG World Championship. Go back and check this one out on TrillerTV+ to see how it all plays out.

3. Johnnie Robbie vs. Gypsy Mac from West Coast Pro’s “Winter WonderSlam”

Also on Saturday, we saw West Coast Pro Wrestling return to Pacifica, CA, for its big event, “Winter WonderSlam.” This also marked the final event of the year for West Coast Pro. In one of the biggest matches of the night, we saw Johnnie Robbie put her West Coast Pro Women’s Championship on the line against another one of the West Coast’s top women’s independent wrestlers, Gypsy Mac. Mac is one of the hottest up-and-comers on the West Coast and is certainly a name to be on the lookout for in 2026. However, for Mac to even think about winning the West Coast Pro Women’s Championship and putting the belt around her waist, she would have to knock off one of the absolute best to come out of the West Coast professional wrestling scene, Robbie. Robbie has held the West Coast Pro Women’s Championship for over 270 days. This reign has seen Robbie pick up wins over the likes of Amira, Dani Luna, Maya World, Trish Adora, Kitsune, Miko Alana, The Great Sakuya, and Zara Zakher. Robbie has put herself in some prestigious company with some of these wins. She’s become a staple of the West Coast professional wrestling scene and has become a standard there. Both Robbie and Mac left it all out in the ring in this one, hitting their biggest moves and fighting through the pain to take home the coveted West Coast Pro Women’s Championship. This match may have been one of my personal favorites in Robbie’s reign so far, and one of my favorite matches of Mac’s career so far. Go back and check this one out on the West Coast Pro Wrestling YouTube channel to see how good it truly was. This match ruled.

2. No Rope Barbed Wire Match: Joey Janela vs. Channing Decker from Greektown Wrestling’s “10th Anniversary”

On Sunday, Greektown Wrestling returned to Toronto for its big event, “10th Anniversary.” The event saw the likes of The Good Brothers in action against The League, Sam Holloway defend his Greektown Cup Championship against Bill Collier and AEW’s The Blade, The Production compete against Tommy Dreamer and Jody Threat, Notorious Mimi in action, and so much more. However, perhaps the best match of the night was the main event, which saw Joey Janela put his Greektown Wrestling Championship on the line against long-time rival, Channing Decker. However, this wasn’t just any match; this was the perfect ending to one of the most hardcore stories we’ve ever seen in Greektown Wrestling, a “No Ropes, Barbed Wire” match. Janela first won the title from Decker all the way back in May. Janela held the title for over 220 days before he met Decker in Sunday’s brutal and violent main event. Decker’s fifth reign with the title came to an end in May, concluding his 364-day reign. Decker’s five reigns and 1,085 days as champion in total are a promotion best. Decker truly has become one of the pillars at Greektown Wrestling since its inception 10 years ago. Simply put, these two men were on a collision course for the majority of 2025. These two put on a Greektown Wrestling classic. This was a bloody, brutal, and violent war for the top prize in the promotion. There were even some moments in this one that fans thought, myself included, the competitor wouldn’t get up from. Some ugly falls, some brutal moments, that only added to the war that these two put on. Without spoiling too much or giving anything away, this was one you simply must go back and check out. While it felt like the conclusion for the story these two put on for the majority of 2025, it was done so perfectly. After the match, both men gave thanks to Sabu, which was a great touch. This was a fantastic match that paid homage to one of the most extreme wrestlers to ever do it. From top to bottom, everything about this main event was fantastic. This whole event was great, but be sure to go back and check out this match on TrillerTV+. It was well worth the price of subscription for December alone.

1. Ho Ho Holy Sh!t match: The Rascalz vs. BDE & Alpha Sig from Wrestling Revolver’s “Holiday Special”

On Thursday, Wrestling Revolver set the tone for the remainder of the weekend when they returned to the Camulet Center in Dayton, OH, for its big event, “Holiday Special.” The show was headlined by a very special “Ho Ho Holy Sh!t” match between The Rascalz and BDE & Alpha Sig. This was the first time we saw Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, and Myron Reed team up as a whole unit for Revolver in nearly eight years. This match probably could have been one of the best of the entire year for Revolver. It was crazy in the best way possible. One of my favorite things about this match was that, despite The Rascalz collectively teaming up, Myron Reed made his entrance separately with Killer Kelly with “The Grinch” theme song. Not only did we see some fun weapons, such as swords and ornaments, and a whole range of other unconventional items, but we also witnessed some great moments. For example, the time when we saw suicide dives go on for about a minute straight in a carousel, or when time slowed down in the match, and even the commentators and referee got in on it. We even saw Xavier open a present during the match that had an MSK shirt in it, a nice callback to his days with Wentz in NXT. Take nothing away from BDE & Alpha Sig in this one either. BDE has wowed fans continuously with his time in the ring, showing that he’s so much more than a social media star; he’s a damn professional wrestler. As for Alpha Sig, they are one of the most fun tag teams in Revolver. For those who are unaware, they’re a Frat Party gimmick, who may have their issues from time to time, but always come back to each other. Nonetheless, from top to bottom, this match was one of my favorite matches in recent memory. Revolver continues to knock it out of the park. This was a show that ruled from top to bottom, and we even saw Ace Austin battle Jordan Oliver, as well. This whole show was fantastic, but the main event really stole the show for me. Go back and check it out on TrillerTV+ to see the epic conclusion.
