Jewels of Wrestling 6 Recap and Review

Jewels of Wrestling presented their sixth show and first in a year and a half.

Jewels of Wrestling is an all-women’s promotion, that is the sister promotion of Fire Star Wrestling. The show took place in Greensboro, NC and aired live on the Fire Star Wrestling Patreon.

The show started off hot with a triple threat match between Mila Johnson, Brittany Jade, and Emily Jaye. Mila Johnson is someone that has exceeded my expectations every time that I have seen her wrestle and should be a household name. Mila is the only person on the card to wrestle in every Jewels of Wrestling show. Brittany is the bully in this match, taking short cuts and handing out low blows like they were presents. Emily showed off her athleticism throughout the match and got the win with a stunner on Brittany after hitting a DDT/Stunner combo on both opponents. This was a great opening match, as the crowd was familiar with all of the wrestlers and they all brought the energy.

Next up is a really fun match between Alexandra Quinn and CC Young. Quinn is a student of AR Fox and you can tell right away from her unique offense. CC seems like someone that is just annoyed by everything, especially the fans. Quinn shows that she is not just athletic, but also hits hard, as she lays some vicious chops into CC. CC gets a couple near falls, and gets incredibly irritated that she cannot put Quinn away. Quinn hits an amazing driver, but CC shows her resilience and kicks out. Then, CC’s opportunity comes when the ref goes down. She grabs her Stanley Cup (not the hockey one, the trendy one) and hits Quinn with it. CC then hits her with a curb stomp for the win.

Our first tag team match of the show is Londyn Dior and JEM against Charm Anders and Kaylee. I am familiar with JEM from the NY area, as she always has some of the best style and a huge presence. Kaylee is the smallest person in this match, but may have the biggest fight, as she takes it to JEM in the early parts of the match. JEM annoys the crowd, while Dior lays into their opponents. Kaylee hits a huge crossbody off the ropes followed by a stunner by Charm to get them the win. This was a very fun match and I would love to see more of Kaylee as she was a ball of excitement in a tiny package.

One of the top females in Fire Star Pro, Leah Night, takes on Corinne Joy. Leah was the Jewels of Wrestling Champion until losing to her “friend” and current champion Amanda Kiss. The crowd has been loud and very into all the matches, and they are very vocal in the fact that they do not like Leah Night. Leah gets more aggressive every time I see her in the ring.  Corinne has some very innovative offense, hitting Leah with a headscissor driver variant. Leah gets innovative herself, hitting Corinne with a sitdown powerbomb from a Razor’s Edge position for the win. This was a great match, where they had to break out some incredible moves to try to get the win.

In a match of power versus quickness, Moxy Monroe battles Tyla Bandz. Moxy uses her power to dominate early, but Tyla counters with her athleticism and quickness. Tyla pulls out the win with an impressive destroyer.

In a triple threat match with three women with very big personalities, you knew it was going to get fun and interesting. Madi Maxx, who has been doing a lot of work for WOW, takes on Airica Demia and Joiya Blake. Madi gets on the mic before the match starts and is as annoying as she has ever been. However, once the match starts Madi shows that her in ring skills are also as good as they have ever been. She is sneaky, she cheats, but she is effective. Everyone gets their offense in, until Airica appears to get her power up and knocks both of her opponents out, picking up the win by pinning Madi.

Up next, is what I would consider the match of the night. TNA Knockout, Jada Stone took on Keeley Capri. I did not know anything about Capri going into this match and she really impressed me. Jada shows off her quickness, but Capri takes advantage of her first mistake and takes the fight to the outside. Capri tries to fight dirty to counter Jada’s skill and experience advantage. Capri goes for a pin, but Jada impressively counters it into a Muta Lock. Jada hits a moonsault, but Capri shows her toughness by kicking out of the pinfall attempt. The crowd does not like Capri, but you have to appreciate the fight that she is giving Jada. Capri hits an incredible Samoan Drop from the second rope, but it is not enough to put Jada away. Jada hits a Frankensteiner, followed by Spark Stunner to get the win. Keeley Capri may not have won this match, but she impressed a lot of people, by being able to hang with a TNA Knockout and giving Jada all that she could handle.

The main event is for the Fire Star Women’s Championship, as Ameera Roze defends the title against Maya World. Ameera tries to use her kendo stick at the beginning of the match, but the ref takes it away from her. They are both impressive and neither one can really get the upper hand. That is, until the ref goes down and Roze sees her opportunity. Roze uses her kendo stick and gets the advantage, but she can’t keep it. Maya fights back and the momentum goes back and forth. Maya ends up being able to pin Roze and becomes the new Fire Star Women’s Champion. Roze put up a great fight against one of the top female wrestlers in the country. The current Jewels of Wrestling Champion, Amanda Kiss, comes to the ring to congratulate her, but also stares Maya down as it appears that Amanda wants to be Maya’s first challenger for that title.

The women’s wrestling scene in the southeast is one of the best in the county right now. You have the women that you see here, along with people like Ella Envy, The Paige Sisters, Angelica Risk and more. Stay tuned to the Fire Star Pro Wrestling social medial accounts to see where Maya World’s title reign will take her and if she will be facing Amanda Kiss, a rematch with Ameera Roze or possibly a match with Leah Night in her future.
