Recently WWE signee Matt Cardona has confirmed that he will no longer be able to make independent wrestling bookings.

“There have been a couple of haters online, I totally understand that. I was booked until the summer. If I took every indie date that I agreed to, I wouldn’t be able to be at WWE. It’s as simple as that. It’s not like I had one or two, I’m literally booked every weekend until the summer. It doesn’t make any sense. Any promoter who gave me a deposit, they’ve already been taken care of. Everybody understood.” Cardona told Sam Roberts on the NotSam Wrestling Podcast.

Cardona has recently received hate online after not making several independent wrestling bookings he was advertised for and vacating championships that he held for several promotions.

Cardona signed to WWE after making an appearance on the first episode of Smackdown in 2026.
