Several opening round matches have been announced for this year’s PROGRESS Wrestling Super Strong Style 16 tournaments.

PROGRESS Wrestling has announced several opening round matches for their Super Strong Style 16 tournaments, but things are a little different this year. Not only is PROGRESS Wrestling hosting two SSS16 tournaments, one men’s tournament and one women’s (the first time a women’s SSS16 tournament will be held); but the opening round matches will be held at different promotions across the globe. Here’s what is announced so far.

Men’s Super Strong Style 16:

• Bobby Gunns vs. Elijah Blum – wXw We Love Wrestling – 1/10
• Peter Tihanyi vs. Zoltan – wXw We Love Wrestling 72 – 1/17
• Kid Lykos II vs. Jay Joshua – PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 189: In Darkest Night – 1/25

Women’s Super Strong Style 16:

• Anita Vaughan vs. Skye Smitson – PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 189: In Darkest Night – 1/25
• LA Taylor vs. Safire Reed – PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 189: In Darkest Night – 1/25
• Irene vs. Kanji – SAJ Evil Eye – 1/31
• Shotzi Blackheart vs. Lana Austin – PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 191: For The Love Of PROGRESS 4 – 2/20

32 competitors in total will compete and the remaining eight competitors from each tournament will battle it out at The Electric Ballroom on Sunday, May 3rd and Monday, May 4th. Both events will stream exclusively on Hooked On Wrestling TV.
