On Friday night, January 16th at The Colisee in Lewiston, Maine, nearly 2,000 fans got to witness a rare AEW World Championship Match outside of All Elite Wrestling. MJF put his AEW World Championship on the line against one of the top stars in independent wrestling, Alec Price. This was the first time the AEW championship had been defended at an indie wrestling promotion.

With his Bustah and the Brain tag team partner, Jordan Oliver at ringside cheering him on, Alec Price bought the fight to the champ. The two had an outstanding match, but eventually the champion came out the victor, retaining the championship, or what he would call, his “Triple B”.

The bigger story is following the match, when MJF took the microphone and offered both Alec Price and Jordan Oliver All Elite Wrestling contracts. MJF shook both men’s hands as the crowd in Maine got to witness the huge announcement.

MJF spoke to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, giving his thoughts on Alec Price and Jordan Oliver, following the signing of the tag team.

I look at Alec Price and Jordan Oliver, and I think they have what it takes and then some. They can be a part of this new generation. They’re both extremely talented.

Price and Oliver currently hold the GCW World Tag Team Championships.
