With Jonathan Gresham’s return to the squared circle taking place tonight, he spoke to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed to state how Beyond Wrestling and Beyond Wrestling’s owner Drew Cordeiro gave him a platform when he was considering stepping away from professional wrestling.
“Around that time, my [now] wife and I had moved to York, Pennsylvania. Before the move, I was about to quit wrestling. That’s when I spoke with Drew, who told me he was going to give me a whole new platform.”
Gresham stepped into the Beyond Wrestling ring against the likes of Donovan Dijak, Matt Tremont and Chris Hero. Him and Zack Sabre Jr. had a trio of matches taking place back in 2016. Gresham came out the victor in all three contests, including a series ending two out of three falls match.
“Beyond went above and beyond to give me a platform, and those matches with Sabre cemented me as an up-and-comer. It all goes back to that conversation with Drew. In a roundabout way, Beyond is the reason I’m still wrestling today.”
Gresham went on to say, “Beyond did so much for me. It gave me a platform to show the world what I could do. It’s only fitting to come back and give young individuals the opportunity to wrestle people more experienced than them on a big stage.”
“The Octopus” will make his return to the wrestling ring after nearly six months away, as he’s set to face “Fancy” Ryan Clancy at Beyond Wrestling’s ‘Wildest Dreams’. The event will stream tonight, January 23rd, live at 8pm EST on IWTV.
