From Thursday, February 19th, through Sunday, February 22nd, House of Glory, C4 Wrestling, Prestige Wrestling, and Limitless Wrestling put on some downright amazing events filled with some incredible matches. This includes an all-women’s event and the end of an era on the West Coast. Here are the five must-see matches from this past weekend that every fan of professional wrestling should go in and check out.

5. Charles Mason vs. Andrade El Idolo from House Of Glory’s “No Turning Back”

Kicking off this list, when we saw House of Glory return to the NYC Arena on Friday night, it was filled with many big moments. This included a massive main event which saw MJF put his AEW World Championship on the line against the House Of Glory Crown Jewel Champion, Zilla Fatu. However, while that was a very fun match in its own right, it wasn’t quite the show stealer for me that MJF and Alec Price were back in January. The match of the night for House of Glory was the co-main event that took place before MJF’s match. Charles Mason put his House Of Glory World Championship on the line against All Elite Wrestling’s Andrade El Idolo. Mason first won the HOG World Championship from Mike Santana back at “Puerto Rican Weekend” in June of last year. Over the next 220+ days, Mason has defended his title against the likes of Carlito, Man Like DeReiss, Dezmond Xavier, Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali, and, most recently, in Los Angeles back in January, Rey Horus. Mason has been on the best run of his career of late, and he’s been showing that he belongs with some of the top stars in the industry today. I’m fortunate enough to have been a Mason fan for a long time now, and seeing his growth into one of the top guys in the Northeast is special. It’s no secret how great Andrade is. Andrade is a very special talent, and he can go, despite sometimes not always being able to show that on television. Thankfully, Andrade has been showcasing all of that lately on Wednesday nights and is rightfully getting his flowers. This was yet another tough test for Mason, but he continued to prove he can hold his own with whoever lies in front of him. Mason is also one of the smartest professional wrestlers around today, and that largely came into play at the conclusion of this match, winning by any means necessary. 4. Billie Starkz vs. Dreya Mitchell from C4 Wrestling’s “Bring It On”

On Thursday, February 19th, C4 Wrestling kicked off a very fun weekend with their big all-women’s wrestling show, “Bring It On.” The show was centered around a tournament to crown the first-ever C4 Wrestling Women’s Champion. Alexia Nicole met Kristara in the main event of the show, in a match which saw arguably two of Canada’s best go at it. This was such a monumentally important show on so many levels, especially seeing all of the amazingly talented women in Canada do what they do better than anyone in the world. The Canadian women’s division on the independent wrestling scene is absolutely a sight to behold. There are many incredible names to look out for, including Nicole, Kristara, Leah Sparks, and of course, Dreya Mitchell. At the event, Mitchell went one-on-one with All Elite Wrestling’s Billie Starkz. It’s no secret at all how talented Starkz is. She is certainly going to be a major player in any women’s division for years to come. However, I want to spend some time here talking about Dreya Mitchell. Mitchell has been wrestling for arguably two years now. When you think of someone who’s born for this, and someone who has IT, it’s Dreya Mitchell. Mitchell, while she’s still building up her resume and stacking her shows, is truly an incredible talent who possesses a lot of potential. Mitchell also got to make her United States debut this past weekend, as she showed up to Limitless Wrestling to take on Jada Stone. This is all a testament to Mitchell’s hard work. For someone who’s only been in the business for a couple of years, she has truly been making a statement for herself. She’s someone for whom the sky is truly the limit. She’s one to watch this year and beyond, and expect big things out of her. She has the look, the style, the skill, and the charisma to do amazing things in the world of professional wrestling, and this is just the early chapters of her book. This match ruled, and once again gave Dreya another shot to show that she’s going to do big things in this world. Go back and check it out on the C4 Wrestling VOD channel only on IWTV.

3. Johnnie Robbie vs. Amira from Prestige Wrestling’s “Roseland XIII”

One of the best shows of the year, also marked Prestige Wrestling’s curtain call. On Friday night, February 20th, Prestige Wrestling returned to the Roseland Theater in Portland, OR, one final time, for the promotion’s final event, “Roseland XIII.” This card saw a bit of everything, including a stellar main event, which we’ll definitely get to shortly. However, one of the best matches of the night saw Prestige Wrestling, for one final time, showcase their partnership with West Coast Pro Wrestling, as Johnnie Robbie put her West Coast Pro Women’s Championship on the line against Amira. Robbie first won the West Coast Pro Women’s Championship back in March of last year from Zara Zakher. In her 330+ day reign so far, Robbie has fended off the likes of The Great Sakuya, Miko Alana, Kitsune, Trish Adora, Maya World, Dani Luna, Amira, Gypsy Mac, Jordan Blade, and Gabby Forza. Her list of accolades keeps growing, as she once again looked to put on an instant classic at the Roseland Theater. Robbie is the star of the West Coast. The stuff she can do in the ring is shocking. She’s so talented and has a very bright future in this world. Sometimes in professional wrestling, you find your soulmate in the ring where you’re destined to do this forever, and the chemistry is simply unmatched. For Robbie, that soulmate is none other than the “Tower of Power,” Amira. Amira is another one of the top stars that the West Coast has to offer. She’s someone who I’m very surprised isn’t booked as much as she should be. She’s an absolute star in every sense of the word. Seeing these two go at it once again was truly special. However, seeing these two go at it for the final time under the Prestige Wrestling banner, a promotion which was so special to both women, was truly remarkable. They left it all out in the ring to send one final message to the Prestige Wrestling faithful. This whole show is well worth a watch back, but go specifically out of your way to check this one out on the Prestige Wrestling YouTube channel.

2. Titus Alexander vs. BK Westbrook from Limitless Wresting’s “Gnomie & The Machine”

Next on this list, we saw Titus Alexander and BK Westbrook put together gold in an impromptu match. On Saturday, February 21st, Limitless Wrestling returned to Yarmouth, ME, for its big event, “Gnomie & The Machine.” This was a fantastic show from top-to-bottom that saw its fair share of changes. In the main event, Gabby Forza challenged Donovan Dijak for Dijak’s Limitless Wrestling World Championship. We also saw Dreya Mitchell make her Limitless Wrestling and United States debut as she took on TNA’s newest knockout, Jada Stone, and so much more. In the second match of the night, we saw Titus Alexander make his debut in Limitless as he took on BK Westbrook. This was neither man’s announced match for the night. Originally, Alexander was supposed to face Aaron Rourke, while Westbrook was supposed to face Sam Holloway. Rourke ended up showing up at the very end of the show, so fortunately, he was able to make the event. As for Holloway, he wasn’t able to make it at all, which left Alexander and Westbrook with nothing better to do than face each other in a “Proving Ground” match. This was essentially a match where the Limitless faithful may not have been very familiar with either man, and they truly had to “prove” themselves to the crowd. Both Alexander and Westbrook showed up and showed out in this one, showcasing their incredible talents. Alexander is one of the very best on the West Coast. Alexander recently got back from a tour of Japan, and he looked even better than he did before he left. That’s saying something since Alexander was also incredible before he even left this time around for Japan. As for Westbrook, he’s still growing himself in the Southeast, but don’t let that fool you. Westbrook is a very experienced and very fun heel to watch. This was a downright fantastic match that deserves a watch from every fan of professional wrestling. Go back and check this one out on the Limitless Wrestling YouTube channel, for free, or the Limitless Wrestling VOD channel on IWTV.

1. Kevin Blackwood vs. Judas Icarus from Prestige Wrestling’s “Roseland XIII”

Let’s return to Prestige Wrestling one final time in this list, shall we? “Roseland XIII” was truly an out-of-this-world event with so much fun professional wrestling. It encapsulated everything that made Prestige Wrestling amazing, all in one show. This is a HIGHLY recommended watch for anyone who considers themselves a fan of professional wrestling. However, the match that stole the show and very well could have been a match-of-the-year candidate saw Kevin Blackwood put the Prestige Wrestling World Championship on the line against the former champion, Judas Icarus. Not only was this the final match in Prestige Wrestling’s long, illustrious history, but it also marked the final match for Kevin Blackwood, who is stepping away from professional wrestling for mental health reasons. Blackwood was one of my personal favorite wrestlers in this crazy world, so to say I’ll miss seeing him compete would be an understatement. However, the legacy he left behind is truly astonishing. Blackwood is one of the very best technical wrestlers on the independent scene, and one of the only ones who could truly match his style was Judas Icarus. That’s what made this match so special. The entrance of Blackwood into this match was truly out of this world. When you think of a “moment” in professional wrestling, that truly was a “moment.” Fans serenaded Blackwood as he emotionally made his way down to the ring, singing “This Time Imperfect” by AFI. A hauntingly beautiful song. Blackwood held the Prestige Wrestling World Championship for a total of 138 days, defeating Judas Icarus twice, including once to win the Prestige World Championship, as well as Matt Brannigan. As for Icarus, he continues to prove himself on the independents as one of the very best regardless of who you put him up against. For Blackwood to put Icarus in that spot to end his career speaks volumes. This was truly a legendary moment and a legendary match, one that specifically marks the end of a historic promotion and a historic career. Go back and check this one out on the Prestige Wrestling YouTube channel, free of charge. For one final time, thank you, Kevin Blackwood, and thank you, Prestige Wrestling.
