EVE’s “Bruised, Battered and Hungover” took place in London on April 10 and was broadcasted live on their YouTube channel. It included two AEW stars, two great tag team battles, a match between two of the best in Europe, and much more.

We open up with one of the biggest matches of the night, ROH star, Billie Starkz travels across the ocean to take on Anita Vaughan. Vaughan uses her power to stay a step ahead of Billie early on in the match. Vaughan is trying to keep this match on the ground, so that Billie cannot use her speed and high flying moves. Every time Billie gets some offense going, she is met by a forearm from Vaughan. Billie comes back and hits a swanton, but Vaughan kicks out. Vaughan continues to dominate Billie with her power. She goes for a Black Hole Slam, but Bille counters it and hits a crucifix pin for the win. This was a really fun match, with Anita Vaughan showing off her power and Bille coming through after she keeps taking a beating from her opponent and persevered to get the win.

French Art (Corey Zero and JGU) takes on Euro Smash (Chantel Jordan and Aliss Ink) in a tag team affair. Euro Smash is a very hard-hitting team, while French Art is more technically sound. Corey shows off some lucha skills and French Art uses their double team skills to gain the advantage. Ink’s striking game is so impressive, she is someone that I would love to see on the top of cards in Europe and the US. Euro Smash takes control and hits a couple dives on the outside. French Art hits a combination move to get the win. All four wrestlers show respect to each other after the match. Euro Smash looked great and I would love to see more of them in EVE, but French Art are absolute stars and deserve to be on the top of the EVE tag team division.

In a clash of styles we have Safire Reed against the debuting AEW star, Megan Bayne. Safire is slowly able to break Bayne down and hit a dropkick through the ropes to the outside. Safire has the advantage on the outside, but Bayne is so powerful that it only takes one move to completely change the momentum. As soon as Safire hits a move, Bayne immediately counters it. Safire hits a springboard cutter, but Bayne kicks out. Bayne hits a series of her greatest hits, but Safire kicks out. Safire hits two torpedo headbutts, but cant put Bayne away. Bayne hits a running powerbomb for the win. Safire showed her toughness, and how much damage she can do to a stronger, more accomplished opponent, however Megan Bayne was a little too much, as she is with most people.
After the match, Rhio and Alexxis Falcon come out. They bring out Lucy Sky, French Art, Anita Vaughan and Molly Sparton. This group attacks Reed and Vaughan, but are run off by Martina, Euro Smash, and Melissa Fierce. Anita Vaughan and Safire Reed leave together, so it looks like we could have Hyperactive in EVE.

As we come back from interval we have the tag team championship match. Nyteskye (Violete Nyte and Skye Smitson) challenge LALLIE (Holly Barlow and Lana Austin). The match starts very fast and LALLIE gets the advantage. Hollie has been so incredible since she has come back and LALLIE have gone from a reluctant team to a cohesive unit. Nyteskye has become a great team in a very small period of time, but they are doing it with much more underhanded tactics. Nyteskye isolates Hollie, but Hollie is eventually able to make the tag to Lana, who clears house. Violet distracts the ref, so that Skye can hit Hollie with the title belt, but the ref saw what happened on the screen by the entrances. LALLIE gets the win by disqualification, and both teams fight after the bell. It doesn’t appear that this rivalry is over.

Our next bout is two of the best in Europe, Emersyn Jayne against Rhio. Rhio has become even more fierce and miserable since she has lost the title. This match is as good as you would expect it to be. Back and forth, hard hitting action. Rhio drops Emersyn with a muscle buster, but Emersyn kicks out. Rhio may be one of the best wrestlers in Europe, but Emerson Jayne is the toughest. Jayne hit a Spanish fly followed by a Gatto Bomb, but Rhio kicked out. Emerson dives to the outside, but Rhio moves and Rhio hits her with a chair. Rhio then hits a package piledriver on the ring steps. Another package piledriver in the ring for the win. This is a new level of violence for Rhio and everyone in EVE has got to be prepared for this Rhio.

In a non-title match, the EVE Champion, Session Moth Martina takes on Lucy Sky. Sky is a powerhouse in a way that the champion may not have seen before. Very impressive middle rope rana from Martina, then she puts Sky in an Octopus, but all the sudden Alexxis Falcon and Molly Sparton attack Martina, which turns into Martina, Melissa Fierce and Abi against Alexxis Falcon, Molly Sparton and Lucy Sky. Abi tags herself and gets destroyed by the other team until she is able to poke them in the eye and tag in Martina. Martina really looked great in this match, as has Melissa Fierce. Martina hits the Jager Bomb, but Lucy Sky pulls the ref out of the ring. Martina hits a dive to the outside, Abi tries to climb the ropes, but Alexxis Falcon gives Abi a swinging neckbreaker for the win. Martina seemed upset with Abi, but Abi said that she just wanted a job. Martina said that she did not need an assistant, but did need a drinking patterner. Martina sent the crowd home happy as she had a party with Abi and Melissa Fierce.
This was a fun show that helped build the new factions, bring back Abi and showcase Rhio and French Art.
The next EVE event will be EVE X TJPW on April 25 that will include Miyu Yamashita vs Aliss Ink, Shoko Nakajima vs Hollie Barton, Super Misao, and Yuki Aino.
