Devine Pro Wrestling is a women’s promotion that comes from Michigan and they have been around since 2024 and have had some of the best women in the Midwest on their cards. This event took place on January 31 in Ann Arbor and is available for free on YouTube.
This is a show where the matches are picked out of a hat. The new GM, Annie O’Neil, says that everyone will be represented on this show and brings out the ring announcer, Marti McFly, who picks the first two names.
The first match is Leela Hall against Karter Caufman for a number one contender’s spot for the Divine Pro Championship. These two women are familiar with each other from OVW and Leela starts the match up with some aggression. The crowd is into every move, which makes each move seem more important. The young and athletic Hall seems to have more of the crowd behind her. Carter dominates a lot of the match, while taking a few shortcuts. Hall hits a flurry of offense, followed by a standing moonsault and the crowd goes wild. Hall hits a Northern Lights suplex into one of the best bridges in wrestling, but only gets a two count. Karter fires back with her Home Run Punch and gets the win.
Tag team match between Heather Blue and Selena Cisneros versus Rory Shields and Kasie Clay to name the number 1 contenders for the tag team titles. Heather and Selena do not like each other and it is very evident before the match even starts. Selena is trying to impress in her debut, but will have to deal with an opponent that does not like her at all. Kasie is also making her debut at Devine and towers over all the other women in the match. Blue hits an STO on Kasie and Selena, who had tagged in, uses Blue to splash onto Kasie and pick up the win for her team. All the women were good in the match, but I think Heather Blue really stood out with her talent and personality.
Marley Raine takes on Stephie Mac in the next match. Mac is half of the tag team champions with Juniper and comes to the ring with a hula hoop. Mac has a big size advantage over the new comer, Marley. Marley goes after Mac’s knee to try to negate Mac’s size. Marley gets distracted by Mac’s partner, Juniper who is on the outside, and gets hit with a choke slam from Stephie Mac. Mac gets the win. After the match Stephanie Mac and Juniper celebrate the win, which brings out the #1 contenders, Heather Blue and Selena Cisneros, who still cannot get along with each other. Heather and Selena continue to fight in the back and through the crowd during intermission.
The next two names that are chosen are Mars Cress and Evelyn Sage, who are typically partners in the tag team M.O.I.S.T. This is the opposite of Blue and Selena, as it is two close friends who have to face each other. Sage uses her size advantage early. Mars comes back with a step up enziguri and bull dogs and her new haircut looks incredible. They don’t necessarily want to fight each other, but both want to win. Evelyn counters a Sliced Bread attempt with a powerful Back Drop Driver. Evelyn, the more experienced wrestler, seems to have an answer for whatever Mars tries. The match ends in a double pin, as Sage falls on Mars and both wrestlers shoulders are on the mat.
The final match is for the Divine Pro championship, as Stxrm Garcon defends her championship against BIG AL, Alice Crowley. Al shows her power and her experience advantage early, but Stxrm fires beck with a double knees in the corner. They are starting off with a lot of energy, and the crowd is giving it back to them. They fight through the crowd and to the pool table. Al hits a backdrop on the apron and tries to control the pace of the match, but Stxrm keeps firing back. Al hits another back drop, but Stxrm answers with a Tiger Driver. Stxrm hits a facebuster for the win in a great back and forth main event.
This was a fun, short show. The crowd did not seem to be your typical wrestling crowd and were into every move, which added a lot to the show. The storylines of Selena and Heather not wanting to be partners and M.O.I.S.T. not wanting to fight each other were simple, but effective stories that anyone could follow and led to some unique moments in their matches. The best match was the main event, as it should be, and I really liked Karter Caufman vs. Leela Hall too. This was my first time seeing this promotion and I hope I am able to see more from them.
