When I first saw Eddie Hindrixx, the crowd chants of “Eddie’s gonna kill you!” immediately drawing me in. With a powerhouse presence and a reputation for pulling off almost any move you can imagine, Eddie quickly became one of my favorite wrestlers. His style brings an intensity that’s both physical and captivating, with a versatility that goes beyond his formidable strength. A mix of Kurt Angle’s technical precision and Keith Lee’s sheer presence, Eddie is a force to be reckoned with in the ring.
Trained at AR Fox’s renowned WWA4 wrestling school, which has produced stars like Austin Theory, Alan Angels, and Terry Taki, Eddie has already made a name for himself in the world of professional wrestling. With two titles under his belt for DWA, Eddie has gone toe-to-toe with some of the industry’s best, including Terry Yaki, Effy, and Joe Black.
I caught up with Eddie to talk about his career, his inspirations, and what’s next on the horizon for this rising star.
Reflecting on Training at WWA4:
“My time at WWA4 was incredible. I started training there in mid-October 2022 and made my debut by December of the same year. Wrestling came naturally to me, especially the physical side and the showmanship. But as I continued to train, I grew more as a wrestler and a person. I found a real family at WWA4—a group of like-minded individuals who push each other to be the best. That’s something I truly value.”
Getting Into Wrestling:
“I’ve been a fan since I was a kid. Wrestling always fascinated me because it was like watching warriors go to war in the ring. Growing up, my favorites were Kurt Angle, Abyss, The Undertaker, and Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe, especially, had a huge impact on me during his time in the indies and TNA. Some matches that still stick with me are Taz vs. Bam Bam at Living Dangerously, the Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels matches at WrestleMania, and the TLC match with the Hardys, Dudleys, and Edge & Christian. Those moments are what made me realize just how great wrestling can be. In high school, I knew football wasn’t going to be my future, so when I had the chance to get into the ring, I grabbed it.”
What are some of your favorite matches so far in your career?
“I’d say a few of my favorite matches have been against Joe Black at DWA’s Suplex De Mayo, my steel cage match against Herculon Rage at DWA Winter Lockdown, and the triple threat match with Jay Tyler and Grayson Pierce at WWA4 Extreme Show. But I really have to highlight the two ladder matches with Liam Grey and Rico Gonzalez. Whenever Herc (Herculon Rage) and I are in the ring together, you know it’s going to be something special. Herc and I have a similar hard-hitting style, and we push each other to bring everything we’ve got. I’ve been wanting to do a dog collar match with him for the longest time—I know we’d tear the house down!”
Where did the name “RingZilla” come from?
“I wanted a name that captured the essence of Eddie Hindrixx. I’ve used a few different nicknames over the years—Sun God, WrestleZilla—but ‘RingZilla’ just felt right. It speaks to the mythos I’ve built around myself in the ring. There’s only one RingZilla, and that’s me.”
What are some of your goals for the future?
“I definitely want to make more appearances at independent wrestling events. So far, I’ve wrestled for Southern Honor, Action, and DWA, but I’m hoping to travel more and work with different indie promotions. As for dream matches, there are too many names to count, but I’d really love to face 1 Called Manders. I think that would be a hard-hitting match for sure. Who knows, maybe it’ll happen one day.”
