Opening Contest: Alan Angels vs. Travis Williams
This is Alan Angels’ first match in Prestige since losing the title last year to Judas Icarus. Former members of The Noise stable clashing here. Lockup and they go to the mat right away which Angels scoots away from. Travis Williams gets a slap and a suplex, then some chops for a two count. Williams sends Alan to the floor and follows with a tope suicida. Professional Lariat gets cut off by an Angels clothesline. Angels whips Travis into the buckle face first as the fans get on him. Williams is busted open from that and Angels goes to work. Travis fights back and gets a snap suplex, but another attempt at the Professional Lariat misses allowing Angels to hit a series of suplexes to take back over. On the apron, Williams has some life and hits a brainbuster sending both tumbling down to the floor. Back in the Professional Lariat finally connects, and Travis gets another brainbuster for two. Travis goes for an Angels Wings but Angels knows how to counter that and gets an Alabama Slam. They head up top where Angels resorts to biting and hits an avalanche Angels Wings. Angels struggles to cover and gets only one. Halo Kick and another Angels Wings is delivered for a close two count. Travis grabs a rollup and locks on a single-leg crab, but Angels escapes and goes low then hits a form of a Jay Driller for two again. Angels grabs a chair but misses a big swing. Halo Strike again but Williams Hulk’s up, hits a low blow for revenge then delivers two Angels Wings for two. Travis puts on a Figure Eight and Angels taps out. Tremendous opener. ****¼

Match Two: C4 vs. American Gunz vs. Los Suavecitos
The Suavecitos get things going with the early attack, and then everyone joins in for some shots. Cody Chhun gets an atomic drop and dropkick on Ethan HD. Santiago gets the tag so Cody tags Rosas and C4 gets some doubleteaming in. Now Los Suavecitos join in with Ricky Gee taking over. Danny Rose tags in with a springboard crossbody for two. More heel work keeping Rosas in the corner and unable to make a tag. Gee gets a senton, then antagonizes the Gunz for fun. Rosas fights for the tag, gets an enzuigiri and makes it, bring in Chhun. He takes out everyone in short order, getting a bunch of Stinger Splashes. DDT on Gee gets two. Cannonball in the corner gets two. Up top, Ethan HD delivers and avalanche belly-to-belly suplex on Gee, and moonsaults on his way down to take out C4. Springboard Disaster Kick to Rose but Gee saves. Spinebuster on HD as Rose delivers a Swanton for two. C4 returns and hits the assisted powerbomb to Gee for the win. Good for them. I hadn’t seen a C4 victory in Prestige for quite a while. ***

Match Three: Haley Dylan vs. Brooke Havoc
I met Brooke Havoc a few months back and she is a very nice human being. She also supported my buddy’s clothing line, Dead Last Clothing Co., so I’m clearly rooting for her here. The crowd is split here however as they do a mat exchange. Springboard armdrag and a missile dropkick from Havoc connect. Twisting neckbreaker gets a two count for Havoc. Running neckbreaker connects, but Haley Dylan comes back with a roll through DVD to even things. Dragonscrew legwhip and a teardrop suplex gets two for Haley. She locks on a Black Widow and then a sleeper. Brooke runs her into the buckle to break that up and they go to the top. Superplex delivered by Havoc and a pumphandle slam gets two. German suplex but Dylan fires up with her own for a two count. Running kneestrike from Dylan gets two. Sharpshooter applied but Havoc quickly gets out, and hits a Busaiku Knee. Adrenaline In Reverse spikes Dylan to give Havoc the win. Spirited and energetic match. **½

Match Four: Matt Brannigan vs. Minoru Suzuki
I will miss many things about Prestige Wrestling and seeing Matt Brannigan’s entrance is near the top of the list. Matt says a prayer in the corner after the bell rings, rightfully so. Brannigan lands a huge right hand, then scurries to the corner in fear. Suzuki lands his own soft forearm shot and then gets a real one knocking Matt down. On the floor Suzuki continues the assault. Back inside, Suzuki gets a kneebar and then wrenches the left hand and wrist of Brannigan. Matt steals a flask from the referee and gets the liquid courage. Suzuki gives him another forearm which Brannigan shrugs off, then lands a real one this time. Suzuki comes back with a Yakuza Kick for two. More forearms are exchanged, and Suzuki takes a swig from the flask. Brannigan gets a rollup for two and hits Butt Chin Music for two. He can’t get a chokeslam and they fight over the flask and Suzuki locks in a sleeper. Gotch Piledriver finishes this one for Suzuki. Pretty much exactly what you’d expect from this one. Entertaining. *½

Match Five: Ryan Clancy vs. Jordan Cruz
This was a mystery opponent for Ryan Clancy that was supposed to be Daniel Garcia, but he was unable to make it so Cruz steps in. Fancy wins the technical wrestling battle at the bell. Crisscross with Clancy getting a hiptoss. Clancy goes out to the apron but Cruz knocks him off into a pole at ringside. Cruz works the left arm and tries to superplex Fancy back in, but Clancy slides out and gets a monkey flip. Butterfly suplex with a bridge gets two. Piledriver attempt fails and Cruz hits a kamigoye and applies the Border City Stretch. Clancy counters into his own and Jordan makes the ropes. A series of pinfall attempts follows and Cruz holds onto the ropes on the last one to steal the win. **¾

Match Six: Roseland Riot Match – War Machines (Drexl, Jaiden, Spencer Scott & Zaye Perez) vs. United Front (Casey Ferreira, Cole Rivera, Elliot Tyler & Sid Sylum)
The fight begins in the crowd and Drexl pulls out a staplegun pretty quickly. The heels are wearing white, so I fully expect there to be plenty of blood. Jaiden tosses Tyler into some chairs while Sylum press slams Zaye Perez off the balcony onto a crowd of people in a crazy spot. In the ring for the first time, Jaiden and Ferreira square off. Jaiden gets a lope suicida and Casey pulls an Asai Moonsault after that. Jaiden grabs a chair and gets a Van Daminator, but Ferreira responds by smacking him in the face with the chair. Spencer Scott takes out both Ferreira and Rivera, with Rivera being the first to bleed. Scott tosses a door in the face of Rivera, and then reverse powerbombs him into the door in the corner. Falcon Arrow from Ferreira and then a frog splash onto Scott gets two. Perez hits a coast to coast on Ferreira as the RVD tributes continue. Tyler tries to recruit Perez but instead gets a crutch in the groin. Elliot comes back immediately with a chair to the back of Perez, then climbs to the top, where Jaiden jumps in and hits a Spanish Fly through two chairs. Rivera kicks Jaiden in the face with a chair and then Scott brainbusters him on a chair. Sylum is also now bleeding and attacks the ankle of Jaiden. Drexl brings in a bat with tacks on it and drills Sylum. Drexl (also bleeding) introduces the light tubes, breaking several over Elliot Tyler. Spear from Ferreira through a barbed-wire table on Drexl. The teams face off while Drexl wraps himself in barbed wire and runs into people. Ferreira gets Shield powerbombed through a table and the tacks are laid down. Jaiden gets a Code Red on Rivera into the tacks which gets two. Out in the crowd, Drexl kicks Sylum low and sends him crashing through a table on the floor. Tyler remains in the ring by himself, receiving a gang beatdown from the War Machines. Perez jumps off the top with light tubes and hits Scott with them by accident, but Drexl piledrives Tyler into a batch of light tubes to end this one. It had some cool spots, but also some spots that looked not so great in their execution. **
Spencer Scott walks off in frustration after the match.

Match Six: Roseland Rumble
Alan Angels enters the match on his own accord. This is battle royal style btw, not a Royal Rumble style match with timed entrances. Sonico returns to go after Angels and the match begins. Everyone attacks Angels when he enters the ring but they don’t eliminate him. Sonico runs wild with some elimination and hits an AMF. Jiah Jewell gets some time to shine with a Gator Roll on Angels, but the Frontman winds up dumping him over the top. Angels and Cruz reunite, but Chris Nastyy hits a springboard DDT on Cruz. Sonico accidentally mists Nastyy and he gets tossed by Cruz.
We’re down to Angels, Cruz, Sonico and Ryan Clancy. Sonico gets hit with a low blow from Angels and tossed. Clancy dropkicks Angels and throws out Cruz. Jordan Cruz of course jumps back in to beat down Clancy. Clancy eliminates Cruz again and Angels tries to dump the Fancy Man, with both winding up on the apron. Clancy gets a high kick to the face and lands back in the ring, while Angels collapses to the floor. Ryan Clancy wins! Once this got down to the last 5 competitors it was great. **¾

Match Seven: West Coast Pro Women’s Championship – Johnnie Robbie (c) vs. Amira
Neat fact that Amira attended Roseland I as a fan and now challenges for a title at the last Roseland show. Good mat exchange and some shouldertackles that nobody gets the better of. Amira-go-round and a corner splash, then a cannonball by Amira gets two. Johnnie Robbie hits a back kick and a suplex for two, then puts on a Camel Clutch. Running kneestrike gets another two. Robbie with a series of rebound kicks, but Amira clotheslines her down. Up top Amira gets a crossbody block. Dropkick and rolling Germans with a bridge get two for the challenger. Robbie stops her with a kick and a Pepsi Twist. Northern Lights suplex gets two for the champion. Amira turns the tide locking in a Boston Crab. They have a slap fight ending with Amira getting a sitout powerbomb. Another corner cannonball and she looks for the World’s Strongest Slam but Robbie scoots out and hits double knees for two. Spinning backfist from Amira, but Robbie gets the springboard double knees for the win to retain. Good match, though I wouldn’t have hated Amira going over as she was super over with the Portland crowd. ***¼

Match Eight: Prestige World Tag Team Championships – Construction Site Match – Midnight Heat (c) vs. The Hammer Brothers
The culmination of a long feud that has seen the Hammers chasing the tag titles for about a year. Jack immediately spears Gibson through a door while Sledge chokeslams Pearl. The Hammers swing orange cones next. Jack gets a bulldog on Pearl and then gets Sledge’s assistance for a wheelbarrow splash. Sledge hits an F5 on Pearl as the onslaught continues. The Hammers dump some concrete rubble in the ring and then powerbomb Gibson onto it. No way that didn’t hurt a lot. A table gets set up inside, but the Heat suplex Jack through it to finally take over. Pearl steals a sandwich out of a lunchbox but gets it shoved in his own mouth. Gibson quickly runs in with a piece of the concrete rubble to knock Jack to the outside. Pearl chokes out Jack with a sledgehammer, and Gibson hits Jack in the face with a cone. Sledge is back up, delivering corner splashes to the Heat. Chokeslam to Pearl, and the Excavator to Gibson gets two. 3D through a table on Pearl gets only two. Another table gets set up, but Gibson runs in with some stop sign shots and the Heat powerbomb Sledge through the table for two. Hot Seat delivered by the champions but Jack no-sells it and runs wild. Jackhammer to Pearl and the Diesel Hammer to Gibson gives the Hammer Brothers the Prestige tag titles! A very satisfying culmination to the feud. ***¾

Main Event: Prestige World Championship – Kevin Blackwood (c) vs. Judas Icarus
This will not only close out the promotion but also Kevin Blackwood’s career. A slick set of reversals starts us off, and there’s still dust coming up off the canvas from the tag title match. Blackwood with a clothesline and doublestomp. Judas Icarus shakes off a boot and hits a back elbow. Diving elbow off the second rope gets two. Judas goes up but Blackwood pushes him off, landing back first on the apron. High-angle German suplex by the champion gets two. Back on the apron Icarus avoids a suplex but gets powerbombed into chairs in the crowd. Inside the ring Blackwood applies a chinlock. Judas fights out but is put down with a forearm to the lower back. Kevin climbs the buckle but is knocked off and Icarus gets a back bodydrop. Blue Thunder Bomb gets two for the challenger. Both guys backs are hurting now and Icarus hits a spear. Inverted suplex gets two. Icarus goes up in the corner but misses a frog splash. Shotgun dropkick from Blackwood and a DVD gets two. Judas gets a side suplex and then a pescado out to the floor. Back in Blackwood hits a kneestrike and powerbomb for two. Boston Crab applied and then a PK delivered. They duke it out in the middle where Blackwood delivers a brainbuster for two. DVD into the corner and Firestorm to the back gets a close two. German suplex into the buckles and a high kick lands. Tombstone piledriver on Judas gets two. Icarus bounces back with a Professional Lariat and a Helluva Kick. Blackwood uses Icarus’ Lighthouse Lariat and gets only a one count as things are really starting to get wild now. Lighthouse Lariat twice from Icarus gets another close two. They head up and Blackwood tries a sunset flip powerbomb which is blocked so instead hits a knee to the face. Belly to back superplex delivered by the champion. Kevin grabs a drink of water and charges, missing a Helluva Kick and Icarus tosses him with a Blue Thunder bomb. His kick is blocked with Blackwood getting an Exploder suplex in the corner, and a Helluva Kick. Firestorm hits but only for two. Another attempt is thwarted with Icarus suplexing Kevin off the top rope, and hitting a frog splash to the back. Lighthouse Lariat to the back gets two. Judas puts on a Lion Tamer and then a Bulldog Choke and Blackwood is forced to tap out giving Icarus the title. No other option here than to give them all the stars. *****
Final Thoughts: Prestige Wrestling goes out with a bang with its Roseland XIII event. Title changes, storylines coming to a head, and a mix of wrestling styles packed this 4-hour show which I would recommend watching in its entirety to really capture the full impact of the promotion.

Thank you Prestige Wrestling, and thank you Kevin Blackwood. Independent wrestling will not be the same without you.
