At Monday’s episode of Wrestling Open Rhode Island in Cranston, RI, “Fancy” Ryan Clancy relinquished the Wrestling Open Championship after revealing he was injured. He held the championship for 40 days in his second reign as champion.
Clancy took to social media to reveal that he suffered a torn ACL and Medial Meniscus, keeping him out of action for the foreseeable future.
“I find myself extremely heartbroken & tormented. Earlier last week, I received confirmation off of an MRI Report that I have a high grade tear of my ACL & a tear of my Medial Meniscus. I will unfortunately be out of action for the foreseeable future.
I have been wrestling at the highest of levels all around the world for the past 8 years straight and pride myself on being the very best of the best in today’s market. Why? Because I have the courage to be myself and create from a place of authenticity. LOVE.
My relentless pursuit of happiness & my workethic does not diminish because of this setback. This does NOT change the truth that I am the very best. This is NOT a Stop. It is a Pause.
I’m very blessed to have an incredible support system of promoters, wrestlers, family, friends, & most importantly fans who see me and believe in me as an individual. Without you, I’d be nothing.
I will be using this time to improve & BECOME even more. Not solely for me, but because I have a gift that I NEED to continue to share with the world at the highest possible level. The next steps are unclear but I am feeling INSPIRED by the many who’ve come before me and had to deal with similar injuries and awful timing, who not only return, but return BETTER & attract incredible ABUNDANCE from their presence of resilience, grit, & determination.
The next time Ryan Clancy steps into a professional wrestling ring, I will have become more of mind, body, & spirit. I can guarantee you that. It’s all I know how to do. Everything works for us. I choose to believe that.
Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me & continues to hang on for the ride. See You Soon.”
