February, 7 2010 – Fukuoka, Japan
Championship rundown:
Open the Dream Gate Champion: Naruki Doi
Interim Open the Twin Gate Champions: CIMA & Gamma
Open the Triangle Gate Champions: Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii & Akebono
Open the Brave Gate Champion: K-ness
Open the Freedom Gate Champion: BxB Hulk
The show starts with clips of all the history between Don Fujii and YAMATO. YAMATO is currently vying for a shot at Naruki Doi’s Dream Gate title, but Fujii has decided to be an obstacle along the way. These two have had issues for the better part of the past two years, and have fought in plenty of singles matches against each other. That includes an empty arena match, which was clipped for reasons I can’t understand. Why record extra stuff in front of no fans? At any rate, YAMATO will have to get through Fujii if he wants momentum going into his Dream Key match against Takuya Sugawara.
YAMATO {K} vs. Don Fujii {Z}
The fight apparently started in the locker room, as they fight down the ramp to the ring. YAMATO chokes Fujii with the belt from his robe. Fujii comes back with a jab t to the face and a clothesline to the floor. Masaaki Mochizuki is on commentary, and he holds YAMATO for Fujii. They brawl around the building. Fujii grabs an unused section of guardrail and throws it at YAMATO. He puts YAMATO on a dolly and rolls him into the apron. He attacks Akira Tozawa for old time’s sake. YAMATO comes back with the sleeper hold. Fujii looks to be out so YAMATO pins him. It only gets 2. YAMATO goes to dump powder on Fujii’s head, harkening back to their matches from YAMATO’s time in the Muscle Outlaw’z/Real Hazard. Fujii gets the powder but hits Referee Yagi with it by mistake. YAMATO spears Yagi by mistake. Fujii hits a German suplex and a lariat. He brings a table into the ring and whips YAMATO into it. He hits a chokeslam on the collapsed table. He dumps the bag of powder over YAMATO’s head and goes for a roll up. It gets 2. He hits a lariat and a chokeslam but YAMATO catches him with a roll up for the win at 7:06 shown of 13:29. This was silly and bad, like all of their matches against each other have been.
Rating: *½
Shingo Takagi enters the ring and immediately makes us forget about the cruddy match we just watched by reintroducing an old friend of his. CYBER MUTHAFUCKING KONG comes out to the ring rocking long hair and a suit! He’s rejoined Takagi and will be a part of Kamikaze upon his return. He cries about his return to Dragon Gate. Somehow the world just feels right now.

The excellent selling goes out the window when he lands on his feet after a back flip off the top and hits a leg lariat. He hits a slingshot Ace Crusher. He hits a twisting quebrada to the floor. Back in the ring he hits a standing corkscrew SSP for 2. He hits a high kick. He hits the shooting star press but his leg is too hurt to go for the cover right away, and he only gets 2. He hits the Darkness Buster for the win at 9:44 shown of 17:57. This was incredibly awkward. Everything was executed fine, but K-ness was seriously devalued and the crowd wasn’t into any of PAC’s high spots.

Rating: ***¼
After the match the Real Hazard divisions become visible. K-ness and Yokosuka come to Horiguchi’s aid, and the rest of the crew beats on them. So at this point all the talent lies on the clean-fight side of the group.
Next week Sugawara and YAMATO go at it in a no rope, no disqualification match for the Dream Key. Also SpeedMuscle, who dominated tonight, get their shot at CIMA and Gamma’s Twin Gate belts.
