I’ve never really seen anything like this match before. The high flying wasn’t anything unprecedented, but the way that the match consisted of little else but managed to keep from feeling one-dimensional was really quite impressive. Definitely worth checking out, and here’s hoping for more matches between these two so they can develop something cool.

Yasushi Kanda {BW}, Dragon Kid {BW}, Genki Horiguchi {BW} & Ryo Saito {BW} vs. YAMATO {K}, Cyber Kong {K} & KAGETORA {K} [Survival Elimination Match]
This is a thirty minute elimination match. When you eliminate an opponent you are given the opportunity to bring back one eliminated member of your own team. The match ends when everyone has been eliminated on one team or the time limit expires, at which time the team with the most active members wins. The Blood Warriors are having this new type of match with every other stable in Dragon Gate. With Shingo Takagi injured, Akira Tozawa in America and Taku Iwasa retired, there were only three active members of Kamikaze to fight. As such they’re going in this with a handicap. Everyone brawls to start. The Warriors isolate YAMATO. YAMATO catches Kid with a spear. Kanda hits an exploder. He hits a low blow. Kid hits the Ultra Hurricanrana for 2. KAGETORA stops MARAHA! ISAPPA! Saito catches him with an overhead suplex. He hits a German suplex for 2 when Kong pulls him up with a giant swing. Kong cleans house with lariats. YAMATO is all alone against all of the Blood Warriors. He goes after Kanda. Kanda and Saito hit a double flapjack. Kid hits the Messiah. Saito hits a dragon suplex for 2. YAMATO is jelly-legged. Kanda hits him with the blue box. He sends Kanda over the top rope and dropkicks him to the floor to eliminate him. KAGETORA and Kong won’t revive so Horiguchi asks them what they’re doing. YAMATO gets on the microphone and says they aren’t reviving because there is a fourth member of the Kamikaze team. Shingo Takagi’s music plays and he hits the ring! He cleans house. He hits Horiguchi with a DVD and the Pumping Bomber. He hits MADE IN JAPAN to eliminate Horiguchi and revive KAGETORA. He hits Kid with a one-handed powerbomb. He clotheslines him over the top to eliminate him and revive Kong. Saito hits YAMATO with a dragon suplex. YAMATO pops up and hits an enziguiri. He hits a brainbuster for 2. He hits the Galleria to eliminate Saito and get the win at 11:10 shown of 19:36. I like that the abused YAMATO was able to get the final pin of the match, and Takagi’s return made him look like a monster.

After the match Takagi tells the Twin Gate Champions that he wants a shot a their belts, with YAMATO on PPV. A graphic at the top of the screen lets us know that the PPV has been cancelled because of damage sustained at the venue because of the earthquakes. The match would happen a few weeks later in a safer part of the country. Takagi goes on to say that he’s not the only Kamikaze member returning today and brings out Taku Iwasa!!! Iwasa is coming out of retirement!

This was Gamma’s best singles match in a long time, mostly on the strength of stuff that he did. Mochizuki, as usual, can do no wrong of his own.
Rating: ***¾

After the match Mochizuki celebrates with his key and promises to win the title from Masato Yoshino. The show ends with Naruki Doi and Kenichiro Arai cutting opposing promos about their upcoming match against each other to determine the number one contender for PAC’s title.
