AAPW Collision can be seen every other Saturday at 12:00pm on WSIL-TV 3.

WSIL is an ABC affiliate serving Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, and Southeast Missouri.

AAPW is a locally owned and operated professional wrestling company that will begin its fifth year of operation this October. Local talent includes Curly, Heath Hatton, Jay Spade, Mike Masters, Playboy Paul Rose, and Edmund “Livewire” McGuire.

In this week’s episode of AAPW Collision, we’ll see two more first-round matches in the No Limits Tournament, as KC Jackson faces Brandon Aaron and Joey O’Riley of Team XXX collides with Christian Rose of Team Overkill in the main event. Mike Sydal, Justice and Roscoe Dwayne Harris are also in action, as the build to “Summer Chaos” continues.

We start the show off with Kevin Hunsperger and Chris Hagstrom reviewing the Masters/McGuire match from the previous episode of Collision.  They discuss the fact that Masters foot was on the bottom rope and whether he got it up before the 3 count. After reviewing the footage they determine that Masters did in fact get his foot on the bottom rope before the 3 count. How will this affect the title picture?? That has yet to be determined.

“Beautiful” Brandon Aarons

Vs.

“The Main Attraction” KC Jackson

Recap: The match gets going with Aarons playing with his hair and kind of taunting KC similar to Gorgeous George or The Nature Bot Ric Flair in his heyday. The 2 tie up, with KC coming out on top after a scoop slam to Aarons, followed by some quick offense. Aarons goes to the floor in an attempt to slow the match down and try to get into KC’s head. After a flurry of offense from Aarons, KC once again gets the edge by delivering a drop kick reminiscent of Rocky Morton from The Rock n Roll Express. KC goes to attempt a suicide dive only to run into a kick to the head from Aarons. This allows the beautiful one to take charge of the match and get some offense going. The 2 men go back and forth trading offensive maneuvers with KC coming out on top at the end and delivering a stunner for the 1-2-3 and the win, allowing him to advance in the tournament.

Winner: The Main Attraction KC Jackson

Review: The match serves as Brandon Aarons debut match not only on Collision, but with AAPW altogether. This is also the second match in the No Limits Tournament.  This was a good showing between 2 pretty evenly matched up guys. Brandon Aarons is a talent to watch out for. KC Jackson, who is always a fan favorite, has a drop kick that can probably be ranked up there with some of the best in the business.  They both put a lot into the match and pushed each other.

“The Masterpiece” Mike Masters

Vs.

Mike Sydal

Recap: Masters goes into this match with an even bigger chip on his shoulder after the controversial end to his title match with Edmund “Livewire” McGuire on the previous episode of Collision. The 2 men go right after each other from the bell with Sydal taking the early advantage with a series of arm bars getting a 2 count early on. Masters gets his own arm bar on Sydal only to have Sydal execute a few flips and rolls to reverse the arm bar once again.  The 2 men begin to trade punches with Sydal ending the exchange in a drop kick, knocking Masters from the ring.  The match is moving quickly at this point until Sydal goes for a splash, but Masters moves letting Sydal hit the turn buckles. This allows Masters to take charge and begin working on the legs to ground Sydal. After several minutes of back and forth exchanges, Masters gets Sydal in a modified reverse figure 4 leg lock, forcing Sydal to tap out.

Winner: “The Masterpiece” Mike Masters by submission

Review: This was a pretty good match right from the start. The 2 men went after one another trading blows back and forth throughout the entire match. Masters is showing that he is out to make a statement and a name for himself in 2012.

Next we see Heath Hatton talking about his feud with “Old School Warrior” Ax Allwardt and Gaylord Stevens. He talks about the back and forth and the bad blood between himself and Allwardt effectively calling him out.

Roscoe Dwayne Harris

Vs.

Justice

Recap: The 2 men tie up after the bell with Justice sending Harris into the corner. Harris gets in a few punches, only to be stopped by a huge slam from Justice. Harris slips out to the floor to kill some time, only to come in while his tag team partner Jimmy Faygo has both the ref and Justice distracted. This allows Harris to take control and get a 2 count on Justice. Harris is in charge for much of the match, keeping Justice in the corner beating on him. Justice is finally able to get some offense going by delivering several punches to Harris. After an attempted double team gone wrong, Justice hits a side walk slam on Harris and gets the pin.

Winner: Justice

Review: This is a pretty evenly stacked match up, with both men being basically the same size. Justice reminds me of Ray “The Big Boss Man” Trailor in his demeanor and in ring skills. He is quickly becoming a personal favorite on the roster. Harris, while I haven’t seen much of him or his tag partner, looks to be a pretty gifted big man. A great match all in all.

Christian Rose

Vs.

Joey O’Riley

Recap: After some feeling out of one another O’Riley takes the quick advantage over Rose. O’Riley shows off his flying skills with one move after another as well as his brawling skills trading shots with Rose. O’Riley gets 2 quick 2-counts in succession before Rose is able to take control after cutting some corners. After several minutes O’Riley takes charge again and speeds up the pace of the match with quick move after quick move. After another 2 count for O’Riley, Rose is able to take control again and get his own 2 count. After some more back and forth between the two men O’Riley hits his 450 splash on Rose and gets the 3 count.

Winner: Joey O’Riley

Review: This was another excellent match, taped at the Hands Across Harrisburg event several weeks earlier, in the No limits tournament. Joey O’Riley and Christian Rose both are great in ring competitors, giving each match their all.

The matches on this episode were pretty good overall. While there were several stumbling blocks or miscues, they were minor and no effect on the outcome of the matches. The announce team of Kevin Hunsperger and Chris Hagstrom are becoming more and more comfortable each week. I, personally, am enjoying watching the company mature in it’s television product.
