Ryan Rozanski is back on a podcast for the first time in a few months despite Comcast’s best efforts to keep him off. They discuss a wide variety of topics including the greatness that was DDT4. Jerome makes an important proclamation about Sami Callihan while both talk up the Super Smash Brothers and PWG’s tag team division overall. Then it’s onto Evolve. For those of you haven’t seen the shows, and judging by the attendance figures you haven’t, Evolve put on two really good shows. Nonetheless, a hard look at Low Ki’s time in the promotion is looked like. Ryan has an odd fascination with Alex Reynolds, but both Jerome and Ryan have an appreciation for one AR Fox. A tremendous podcast to enjoy in preparation for the big Chikarasarus Rex review show.

  1. good podcast guys, thanks!

I really love the talent Evolve has, but the overall presentation is strange. why run in north carolina in front of what looked like 30 people? why not let guys like el generico have their entrance music, it really fires up the crowd. why let low ki continue to bury people…you addressed this and I was happy to hear it made no sense to you either. why was there a swamp monster at ringside on the last ippv? I can accept things like that in chikara, but I thought evolve was sort of more serious, they need to figure out who they are.

as for pwg, their shows are must-see events for me.

  2. The SSB really are an amazing tag team. CHIKARA made a big mistake letting them go. PWG’s tag title being meaningful is part of the reason I like it so much. It’s so rare in the US now. I hope Michael Elgin’s debut goes as well as Callihan’s. I also hope his team with Roderick Strong survives in PWG beyond its seemingly imminent break-up in ROH, like Future Shock has. As far as Brian Cage goes, WWE had him signed once before, and let him go, for whatever reason. Mentioning Brandon Gatson makes me sad. I wish Gatson, Brandon Bonham, Paul London, and the Cutler Brothers were all still around. I’m also praying that the MCMG make an appearance soon, since Shelley’s left TNA and rumor is Sabin’s following.
Low Ki won’t even job in Japan, for fuck’s sake. He’s undefeated and sitting on 14 points through 7 matches in New Japan’s Best of The Super Juniors tournament, AFTER winning the Jr. Heavyweight title in his first match back there in over two years. The next highest people on points are all on just 8 points on a 4-3 record. Low Ki’s just like Triple H-he’s never figured out that if you continually bury your opponents and everything around you, then nothing matters. FUCK Low Ki.
Also, EVOLVE sucks. Weird, hackneyed presentation, and Gabe Sapolsky’s sucky booking made it a big nothing from the start.
