Recently Sacramento Wrestling Federation announced that they had a working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling and they have two events coming up that have direct correlations to matches with top NJPW talents. We at PWP look forward to coverage of their shows and some upcoming podcasts that we will be having with SWF. They also have a seminar for wrestlers which you can find all the details about that here: http://www.sacramentowrestling.com/?p=4080
NJPW talent such as KUSHIDA & Rocky Romero will be there while the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Alex Shelley, Alex Koslov, & Shinsuke Nakamura will be there as well.

Here are the details about both events and the relationships that SWF are building:

After forming partnerships with high profile promotions such as IMPACT Wrestling and Lucha Libre USA, the SWF makes one of its biggest announcements to date! SWF Wrestling is proud to announce a new partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling. The partnership begins on August 25th with a New Japan Pro Wrestling tryout and 26th as the superstars of New Japan Pro Wrestling perform at the SWF’s first ever event at the Butte County Fair in Gridley, California.

SWF owner, Josh Edlow, spoke about the new partnership. “Everyone at SWF Wrestling is excited about the new doors that have opened to us.” Edlow continued. “Not only does this continue our goal of bringing the absolute best in professional wrestling to the SWF, but it also gives our performers a chance to show their skills in front of the who’s who from New Japan Pro Wrestling.”

The who’s who is correct, as both the IWGP Intercontinental championship and IWGP tag team championships will be defended on the show. “It’s funny, this show started out as our first venture into a Lucha Libre event, but now, the event has turned into an international incident.” Edlow announced that CMLL/NJPW stars Rocky Romero and Alex Koslov will also be wrestling at the event. In addition, former TNA star Alex Shelley, and the one and only Shinsuke Nakamura will be wrestling at the event.

Be there August 26th in Gridley California as the best of the SWF meet the best in lucha libre AND the best of Japan. Stay tuned to www.sacramentowrestling.com and www.facebook.com/sacramentowrestling for more details as they develop.

AJ KIRSCH TO GET HIS SHOT AT SWF GOLD

At Battle in Butte County, WWE Tough Enough Alumnist AJ Kirsch won a 20-Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royal to become the new #1 contender for the SWF Heavyweight Championship. He then went on to represent Woodland Mayor Art Pimentel in a match that would see the self proclaimed “Greatest Wrestling Manager and Promoter” get his head shaved. Now, at Yolo County Warfare, AJ Kirsch will get his shot at the SWF’s premier prize. However, in his way stands “The Champion of Champions” Dave Dutra.

Dutra and Kirsch are no strangers to each other. In fact, Kirsch and Dutra have faced in an SWF ring before. In that contest Dutra scored a pin by way of pulling Kirsch’s tights. The win would catapult Dutra to the top of the SWF, much to the chagrin of then champion Dylan Drake. Now, Kirsch has battled his way to a rematch, and it all goes down in Woodland.

“These are two of the best talents the world of professional wrestling has to offer,” SWF owner, Josh Edlow said. “When these two men step into the ring, no matter who wins, the result is always a win for the fans.”

Dave Dutra would disagree. The champion has been very clear about his feelings regarding AJ Kirsch and has made many remarks regarding Kirsch’s showing on WWE’s reality show Tough Enough. “Was Kirsch on Tough Enough? Yes,” Edlow continued. “But that is not why he is in a match of this caliber. No matter who you are in the world of pro wrestling, you have to earn your stripes in the SWF. Like everyone else, Kirsch has had to sift through the roster, and there is no question that he has earned his shot. He is the absolute #1 contender.”

Former SWF champion Dylan Drake would beg to differ, as he has never gotten his rematch with Dutra, and has been having some problems since his tragic loss at the SWF one year anniversary show. “I am in constant contact with Dylan Drake.” Edlow stated. “He knows what he has to do to get back to the top, and he is poised to begin his rise back to the championship.”

Who will come out of Yolo County Warfare the victor? Come find out on Thursday, August 16th at the Yolo County Fair in Woodland!

ROCKY ROMERO & OLIVER JOHN TO JOIN FORCES AT YOLO COUNTY WARFARE

After what proved to be one of the best matches in SWF history, Rocky Romero and Oliver John will join forces in tag team action. On August 16, 2012, Romero and “Old School” will begin what could potentially be one of the most dominant tag teams in recent memory.

“Oliver John said he’d be honored to be Romero’s partner, and so we made it happen.” SWF Owner Josh Edlow stated. After Oliver John’s controversial pinfall victory over Romero, he said that he would love to be Romero’s partner down the road. “When he said that, my ears perked up, and I thought to myself, this needs to happen.”

The rest, as they say, is history. Now this newly formed tag team will debut at the Yolo County Fair. And who will be their first opponents? The one and only Reno Scum. “The SWF is all about competition.” Edlow continued. “A team with the potential of Oliver John and Rocky Romero needs to be challenged right off the bat. The Reno Scum is arguably one of the best tag teams in wrestling today. It seems only natural that these two teams collide in Yolo County.”

And collide they will. The Reno Scum have held tag team championships all over the country, and now after a one year hiatus, they return for a match that could be a match of the year candidate. “This is what the SWF is all about. Bringing the best professional wrestling to Northern California. This is in line with that vision. I get excited just thinking about it. If you love pro wrestling, and you miss Yolo County Warfare, you will live to regret it.”

In a match that would see the debut of two international superstars, Rocky Romero would face “Old School” Oliver John. Romero, is both an agent for Lucha Libre USA and a regular star in New Japan Pro Wrestling. “Old School” is a former recipient of the Cauliflower Alley Club’s “Future Legend” award. Both men have wrestled all over the world, but had never faced each other until May 18th at Pro Wrestling for Patriots in Woodland California.
