The show opens with a recap of last week's Tag Team titles match. The returning John Skyler hits sliced bread on his partner "Manscout" Jake Manning & Elijah Evans IV covers Manning as Worst Case Scenario win the tag titles. We go to the ring as the voice of PWX Chris Shore is joined at ringside by Craig Veltri. Joey Ryan vs "Manscout" Jake Manning Match Recap: Ryan making his PWX debut after a run with Impact Wrestling, brings the sleaze to PWX having a ringside fan check his crotch to confirm its "all him". In this battle of the moustaches, it doesn't take long for both men to grab the others stache & Sr. Referee Mitch Blalock breaks the hold & leaves each man a few whiskers short of where they started. Manning takes control of the match with his classic stalling suplex, as the crowd in Charlotte counts along. Joey is off balance after the suplex and out of desperation runs Manning head first into a support beam outside the ring. Manning barely makes it back to the ring & Ryan chokes him with streamers & begins to focus on the neck of The Manscout. Ryan utilizes the top rope to choke Manning, still focusing on the injured neck and head of The Manscout. Manning responds with a flurry of offense including a back drop, clothesline and top rope clothesline. Manning pulls the straps down & looks for the hanging pile driver but Ryan escapes. The King of Sleaze hits a pump handle exploder & spine buster but again Manning kicks out at 2. The Manscout goes high risk, ignoring his possible neck injury & hits a top rope head butt for a near fall. Ryan hits a suicide dive taking out all three rows of seats at Tremont Music Hall. Ryan a bit too over confident ends up on the receiving end of a dive from Manning and both men barely make the 10 count. Again Jake looks to set up for the hanging pile driver but calls an audible & DDT's Joey on the ring apron. Manning once again calls for the hanging pile driver but Ryan drops Manscout's neck across the middle rope and hits "That 70's Kick" to get the win in his PWX debut. Analysis: Very good opener between two ring veterans. A match that started out light & comedic turned into a really nice back & forth battle. Manning continues to show he is one of the best show men & technical talents on the core PWX roster and Joey Ryan made a fine addition to the show as the PWX fans reacted one way or the other to the man who brings sleaze everywhere he goes. *** 1/4 Once again we see the betrayal of John Skyler which costed he & Jake Manning their PWX tag titles. We go to a promo with "The Southern Savior" John Skyler Skyler says "this is a business full of smoke & mirrors & you're looking at the one guy that is REAL." Newly crowned Tag Champions Worst Case Scenario with a very emotional The Tommy Thomas says WCS proved they are the best tag team in the world. Ethan Case & Elijah Evans IV ensure Thomas they'll have the titles for a long time. FlashBack: PWX champion Caleb Konley is in the ring, following his match with Chip Day in Concord, NC & lets the fans know that due to feeling like he was overlooked, Corey Hollis has stolen his PWX championship. Hollis comes out & praises the ability of Konley. The champion says he thought he & Hollis were buddies and he's told him he will get his shot. Hollis attacks Konley & the locker room clears to pull the two apart. PWX Championship Match Caleb Konley (c) vs Matt Striker Match Recap: Former NYC school teacher & 8 year WWE employee Matt Striker makes his debut with a shot to make a huge impact in PWX. Striker grabs the mic and says he doesn't know what happened to the city of Charlotte, he says all the fans do is clap & Chant but he's a sports entertainer. Striker asks the fans to not chant anything while he beats up their champion. The PWX champ makes his entrance without his belt, which is still in possession of Corey Hollis & before the match begins, Striker has more to say. He simply tells Konley "You cannot beat me". Striker setting the pace early, refuses to lock up with Caleb, then goes for a roll up immediately. Striker continues at his own pace, with some excellent chain wrestling as the crowd fully ignores Striker's pre match warning chanting "We love head locks". Konley works to reverse the arm bar but Striker responds with a close fisted punch & goes back to wearing "The Midnight Son" down with a headlock. Striker ramps up his offense with an atomic drop/ Saito Suplex combo. Striker briefly goes back to the arm bar, then suplexes Konley into the corner and goes right back to the rear chin lock. Konley again battles back, but only briefly as Striker stays in control with a drop toe hold & hits a back stabber but goes for a nonchalant cover & the champion stays alive. Konley attempts a springboard from the apron, but Striker catches him in a hangman's spinning neck breaker for a near fall. Striker gets in Konley's face & demands for him to tell the crowd Striker is better than him. Striker hits a running kick but again goes for a cocky cover & that's not going to put the champ away. Konley hits a quick DDT planting Striker but only gets a two count and the champion is still worse for wear after the exchange. Striker rolls through into a kimura, Konley reverses into several backslide attempts but can't put his opponent away. Konley switches gears & goes for the "OH! Face" submission but Striker wiggles to the ropes & forces a break. Striker goes for a "Rocker Dropper" but Konley avoids it, & again locks in the "OH! Face" this time dragging Striker to the middle of the ring getting the submission to retain the PWX championship. Analysis: Excellent main event & another in a long line of successful title defenses for Caleb Konley against the best talent Indy wrestling has to offer. Striker had the opportunity to showcase his in ring talent here & was very impressive. *** 1/2 Post Match: Striker shows ultimate respect for the champion & says whatever money WWE saved by letting him go they should give Caleb a contract. Striker says guys like Arn Anderson, Dusty Rhodes & Dean Malenko taught him to do this & Striker raises the hand of the PWX champ as this episode of 'The Xperience' goes off air. Final Analysis: 2 excellent matches on this week's PWX TV as PWX continues to bring in the best indy talents to challenge it's core roster. A roster I believe would stand up against the best any other promotion has to offer. John Skyler's turn, though maybe not shocking was impactful in crowning new tag champs and fans should look forward to these two facing off very soon.
