It’s the OVW Nightmare Rumble!
Very much (exactly) like WWE’s Royal Rumble, OVW’s Nightmare Rumble, is an over the top battle royal, where a wrestlers enters every few minutes. There are twenty competitors, and the winner gets a shot at the OVW Heavyweight Championship. Also like the Royal Rumble, it’s a lot of fun, and often gives us a few surprise entrants.
TPT, and Flash Flannigan, will start us off. These guys used to be enemies, but then teamed up. They now have a very big feud going on against Shiloh Jones and The Marauders. TPT discusses teaming up with Flash, but he isn’t interested, and they lock up. TPT has been the director of Operations, for OVW, for some time, just recently getting back into the ring. Will that affect his performance? Number three is Jamin Olivencia. TPT, and Flash, instantly team up against Jamin, but he takes them both down. TPT and Flash recover though, and they have a chopping contest, on Jamin, in the corner. Number four is Dylan Bostic. He attacks Jamin, instantly. Flash and TPT then grab Dylan, and they have a chopping contest on him, and Jamin joins them in that, as well. Raul LaMotta, of the Marauders, is next in the ring. Flash, and TPT, go after him with the chops again. Next in is Tony Gunn, and he attacks TPT and Flash, and as he does so, Raul is eliminated, followed close by TPT. Flash then goes after Gunn. Instantly we are seeing the fruit of Gunn’s turn, to join the Marauders. TPT, and Flash, hate him for such a betrayal, and we that clearly in the Rumble here.
Next in is Clint Poe, of the Marauders. Somehow, three of the Marauders have come out in a row! Could Shiloh possibly paid someone off to see that happen? It seems like a funny coincidence! A returning Randy Royal is next, and he is returning after being gone for six months! The fans seem pretty excited to see him back, and, he is on fire, attacking everyone. Next entrant is Jay Bradley. Going through his MMA entrance shtick is taking forever, and as such, he’s avoiding ring action. Bradley is still warming up outside the ring, by the time Ted McNaler hits the ring. The next entrant is another big surprise, as it’s Vaughn Lilas, an OVW original, and former champion. He eliminates Flash immediately. The rocker, Ryan Howe is next in. Howe chases Bradley into the ring, and locks in a sleeper, and Bradley is tapping. As Howe keeps Bradley in the sleeper, Jamin tosses them both over the top, and eliminates them, as Eddie Diamond, is the next entrant. Bradley then locks Howe in a choke, outside the ring, and holds it for two minutes, before finally breaking it, and leaving the ring side area. Bradley, and Howe’s submission match, at Saturday Night Special should be pretty entertaining! Shiloh Jones is next in, and he’s after Jamin. Jamin is nearly tossed, but he skins the cart, and is back in. Flash and TPT return to the ring with canes, and Shiloh Jones and The Marauders, leap the top rope and run off. OVW is really pushing this feud, and while I am not normally into TPT, at all, I am finding this fun to watch. I look forward to this feud continuing. Ali, one half of the tag champs, is next up, and he’s after McNaler. As that’s happening, Randy Royal is eliminated by Vaughn Lilas. So one returning star, eliminates another. Good showing by Royal though, and I hope he sticks around.
The Body Guy is in next, and Ali eliminates him immediately. Adam Revolver is in next, and he instantly helps Mcnaler take on Ali. While corner punching McNaler, Adam Revolver tosses Ali out, but while celebrating, Ali pulls Revolver over the top. This is another surprising fun feud between these two teams, and the match at SNS, where the person taking the pin, must leave OVW, should be very, very, good. Johnny Spade is in next, another surprise entrant. The last OVW saw Spade, he was working with Timmy Danger. Could he be a plant, by Danger, to once again protect Anthony as champion? Michael Hayes is in next, and is after McNaler. While trying to eliminate McNaler, Revolver sneaks out, and nails him with the tag title belt, and helps eliminate Hayes instead, further heating up the tag match set for SNS! The last entrant is Mr. Marvelous, He won the right to be the last entrant, last week, and has been on a role. Every guy in the ring is down, and Marvelous is scoping them out, when The Body Guy comes out, and puts on Marvelous’s robe. He offers to shake Marvelous’s hand, Marvelous accepts, (not sure this made Marvelous seem very bright) and he gets pulled out, over the top. The Assassin (an OVW official) comes out, and clotheslines The Body Guy out of the ring. Jamin then eliminates McNaler. A very good showing by McNaler. I have been thinking that Revolver is the star of The Mobile Homers, but after witnessing this, I am not as certain of that.
The final five are Jamin Olivencia, Eddie Diamond, Dylan Bostic, Vaughn Lilas, and Spade. A pretty good reflection of the best wrestlers OVW has. Three, of five, are former OVW champions. Jamin eliminates Diamond, and it is down to the final four. Spade is offering Jamin help, to clear out Bostic, and Lilas. Jamin seems to agree, and I find that kind of surprising, as Spade last worked with Danger, when he was in OVW. Jamin, and Spade, toss out Bostic. A great showing by Bostic though, as he entered at number four. To my great surprise, Ray Lyn never makes an appearance, to aid Bostic, in any way. Lilas attacks Jamin, and Spade, from behind, as Timmy Danger makes his way to ringside. Spade eliminates Lilas, as Jamin approaches Danger, on the apron. As Jamin turns back to center ring, after arguing with Danger, Spade superkicks him, and tosses him out, to WIN the Nightmare Rumble!
Danger is elated, as Anthony makes his way to the ring, OVW title over his shoulder. Danger says this is the best day of his life. His two guys get to face off, and the best man will win! However, Spade then superkicks Anthony, and chases off Danger. He is NOT aligned with them. He’s here to take the title off Anthony. That’s our show, and the main event of Saturday Night Special will see the returning Johnny Spade, challenge OVW Champion, Marcus Anthony, with Timmy Danger, for the OVW title!
Saturday Night Special is looking like an amazing card.
Anthony defends the OVW Heavyweight Title against Johnny Spade. Michael Hayes & Mohamad Ali Vaez take on the Mobile Homers, to decide undisputed, OVW, Southern Tag Team Championship, where the man pinned, or submitted, has to leave OVW, Trailer Park Trash & Flash Flanagan, teamed up against the Marauders, Ryan Howe faces Jay Bradley in a Submission Match!
