You can watch the second episode here on AAW Pro’s YouTube Channel. Hosted by Phil Colvin and Dave Prazak, featuring matches are from AAW’s Day of Defiance 2013. You can check out Jerome’s review of the entire event here.

The episode starts with Zero Gravity (Brett Gakiya and CJ Ezparza) vs. Kung Fu Manchu (Marion Fontaine and Louis Lyndon). All four men are usually fun, particularly Louis Lyndon, and this match doesn’t disappoint. It’s fast paced and a great way to start off the show (both this one and Day of Defiance). Sometimes, a match just needs to get the blood going, and this one does it well.

The commercials for AAW shows were cut down from the first episode, making them much more bearable; nothing felt repeated. I’m glad to see them address some of the smaller issues.

Eddie Kingston vs. Jordan McEntyre is  next. McEntyre got a few blows, but he got  cocky and Kingston used his superior might to get an easy victory. Kingston steps over him, and then cuts a promo. He says hello to Prazak and messes with the fans, before calling out another competitor. Markus Crane comes out. Kingston punks Crane, and defeats him with more ease than he did McEntyre. Knight Wagner is the next challenger. Wagner insults New York, and then slaps Kingston.

Wagner exhibits more fight than the two before him, but his offense only infuriates Kingston, who gets a third victory. Kingston looks like a monster, creating a great first impression on the show (once again, both Day of Defiance and the TV show).  This is the kind of introductory statement I thought the first episode was lacking.

Scarlett promo. Much like the one from the first show, it basically said “come meet a hot woman at AAW.”

The main event is Silas Young (with Val Malone) vs. Samuray Del Sol. The match starts off slow and smart, building up the excitement. Young is the man in AAW, and Del Sol is now an NXT talent, making this a fine match to main event with. Considering how well-rounded and incredible a show Day of Defiance was, I feel like I missed just how good this was the first time around. Allowed to stand on its own, Young and Del Sol’s efforts shine a lot more.

Kingston appears to talk to Young about the hypocritical nature of the fans. He then challenges Young. Young decides that only he can insult the fans (the fans cheer this). Kingston attacks Young from behind. Kingston grabs a chair, but Malone protects Young. Kingston throws the chair aside and then punches Malone in the face. Kingston puts Young through a table.

This episode improved on a lot of what held back episode one. It introduced a major story (the foundation Kingston and Young’s feud) and provided some great action. I think this is the episode to show to a fan considering getting into AAW. There still isn’t much incentive for current fans to tune in, but it is a perfect way to show off the kind of action and storylines AAW has to offer.
