Hey Guys! My name is Jonathan Miller and I love CWF Mid Atlantic. As a writer, my main goal is to transfer some of my love for CWF to all of y’all. In order to do this to the best of my abilities, I will be covering much more than CWF WorldWide. I’ll be the first to admit I’m biased due to my endless love of CWF. In order to show just how much CWF brings to the table, I’ll be covering WorldWide episodes, individual matches, and individual promos.

Enough of the introduction, let’s get down to the business! Our first match up is Dirty Daddy vs Arik Royal. This was a battle of two wrestlers with chips on their shoulders. Dirty Daddy’s been in a little bit of a slump since he lost his RGL Title. On the other side, Royal just lost the TV title to the Hurricane in his very first defense.

Arik took out his frustrations even before the bell rang! Dirty’s toughness was on display as he survived the early onslaught from Royal as well as outside interference from The Ace’s stablemates in the All Stars.  Dirty was an excellent fierce underdog here, from simultaneously crawling and holding his back, to his masterful facial expressions whenever his opponent disrespected him.

With all of this in mind, to his credit, Arik was pretty great in his own right. He’s so great at being a bully and trash talking his opponent. At  the same time, he sold really well for Dirty during his comebacks. He made you feel like Dirty really rang his bell before he used his explosion to pull out the W.

Up next, we have two guys really young in their respective careers. Snooty Fox was going up against Mace Li. Fun fact about this match up, both participants are partners of wrestlers in the last match. This was no accident as Snooty and Royal have a street fight in the former’s hometown this Saturday! Despite both guys’ youth in their respective careers, they told a decent story. The finish also did a nice job of adding even more heat to the upcoming battle.

What followed was a really great promo segment involving two of my favorite wrestlers in CWF: Cain Justice and Ethan Sharpe. Ethan is really great at drawing heat and getting under the crowd’s skin. Despite this quality, he’s also begun to earn respect by shedding his comedic persona for a more serious, aggressive style. Ethan announced that he and Cain have officially entered CWF’s up coming tag tournament. He also did it in a rather hilarious fashion, practically screaming it in an attempt to drown out the fan’s chorus of boos. Classic Heel move.

This promo led into Cain’s match against Cam Carter. This was my personal pick for Match of the Night. It was a true clash of styles as the Judo expertise of Justice battled the Aerial tactics of Carter. If I had to describe Cain, I would say he’s an excellent combination of Kawada’s relentlessness, Jun Akiyama’s youthful prodigy reputation, and frequent flashes of Trevor’s technical prowess. It’s scary how good he is at 21! This guy is going to go places, that’s for sure.

I see hints of Ricochet in his opponent, Cam Carter. Carter brings a sense of believability that Ricochet lacks. By no means is this a knock on Ricochet, he’s just so crisp and athletic, it’s almost unrealistic. With Carter, you can tell he has serious athleticism, but he never makes his movements too clean. Personally, I feel like this adds to his matches rather than takes away.

The match itself was really excellent. I felt both guys came off great. Ethan interfered just enough that Carter came off as a sympathetic underdog without ruining Cain’s aura and momentum. We also get to see some fantastic arm work by Cain and incredible, but believable athleticism from Cam.

The main event was as “Southern Wrestling” as it gets. Nothing showcases the Old School, Southern flavor CWF brings like a Tag Team main event for the belts! We have The Dawson as the mean, rugged champs defending against the Mid Atlantic Outlaws, who definitely aren’t hesitant to bring the fight to their opponents. This was a slow paced, old school brawl and it was great!

Overall, this was a really fun fun episode and if y’all enjoy it half as much as I did, you’re gonna want to tune in to YouTube/Twitch every week!
