Matt Lott is back in action at the studio, and says tonight’s match is one that will certainly get the fans talking, as it’s Joey Janela vs. James Storm.

Joey Janela kicks off by saying that James Storm was relevant 10 years ago. Storm calls himself a legend, and says if you don’t know who he is, you’ve been living under a lock for a long time. Storm can still go with these young bucks, and he’s been getting respect in the locker rooms he goes in. Janela says James Storm didn’t even make Janela’s list of dream opponents. Storm is about to find out why Janela is under ranked, and he’s truly number one. Storm has been in the business over 20 years and knows what to do in the ring. He doesn’t care what style of Janela wrestles, because he’s here to knock Janela out. Janela laughs at the fact that number six was reserved for a legend. Janela will expose James Storm tonight. Storm has been in the ring with a lot of people like Janela before, but at the end of the day, Janela will realize that he isn’t as tough as he thought he was.

Dojo Pro White Belt: Joey Janela (c) vs. James Storm

Personally, I think we could’ve got way more out of James Storm, but instead he just played the hits, and didn’t really go out of his comfort zone. The match started differently than most have, with good brawling on the floor, and Janela even removing the pads to inflict more damage onto Storm. Again, we ran into the same problem as last week, being there wasn’t as much of a story, until the ending sequence. James Storm hit the codebreaker, only for Janela to kick out. He hit the Eye of the Storm, only for Janela to kick out. I feel like these moves didn’t have enough drama that we were going to have a new champion. Storm hit his signature stuff, but something just didn’t click. In the end, Janela had to resort to being a Bad Boy, as he shoved the referee into the ropes, which sent Storm down to the mat, allowing for Janela to climb up and hit the big double stomp. This wasn’t a bad match, but just didn’t have a ton of drama, and I hoped for more.

Winner: Joey Janela

Match Rating: **3/4

Rob Johnston is back in the ring, as he says he didn’t see this one coming, and he asks Janela how he picked up this huge win. Janela says Storm is a little past his prime, and this is Janela’s time, as he proceeds to shove down Johnston. James Storm isn’t a fan, and lays out Janela with the Last Call.

Final Thoughts:

Coming in, I expected a great match from Janela and Storm, knowing that Storm can still go in the ring. I have to be honest here, and say I was a bit disappointed. The match was far from bad, but there wasn’t enough drama in regard to Storm winning the title, and if he would’ve picked up the win from either the Codebreaker or the Eye of the Storm, I would’ve complained that the finish came off as flat. That aside, we still had another great episode this week, as the 20 minutes flies by. Joey Janela keeps picking up wins, this being his third in a row, and second title defense overall. Janela has been great as a heel, and it was great to have a legend like James Storm come in to put him over.

Final Rating: 6.6/10
