A recap from the events of last week is shown, which leads us to footage of Sami Callihan and Jimmy Havoc brawling in the back. I’d have to say that little bit of footage was better than the Boiler Room Brawl…

Tony Schiavone and Rich Bocchini welcome us to the show, and tonight’s main event will see Low-Ki defend the MLW Title against Fenix. Also tonight is Sami Callihan vs. Jimmy Havoc. But first is Middleweight action!

Jason Cade w/Rhett Giddins vs. Myron Reed

This ended up getting way more time than expected, which was a great thing. Things started out hot, and it never slowed down. This is Reed’s second singles match in MLW, and if you aren’t a fan yet, then I don’t know what it’ll take to convince you. This man cleared two sets of ropes to hit a cutter on Jason Cade. That’s right. He jumped from one ring to another, and then hit an even more beautiful cutter to the outside after that. Sadly, Rhett Giddins pulled the leg of Reed off the top rope, which allowed for Cade to pick up a cheap win. Great opener here, and this is exactly what I want from the MLW Middleweight Division.

Winner: Jason Cade

Match Rating: ***1/4

After the match, Jason Cade grabs a mic, but is jumped from behind by Jimmy Yuta! Yuta hit a big dropkick off the top rope, but escaped before Cade could do anything about it. After the break, we get a backstage promo from Jimmy Yuta. Yuta says he can play dirty as well, and he’s here to fight. He’ll make sure Jason Cade pays for what he did.

Back to Fury Road announcements, as they confirm the MLW Middleweight Championship elimination match, seeing MJF defend against Jimmy Yuta and Jason Cade.

Brody King cuts a backstage promo on Tommy Dreamer, saying he will introduce Tommy to violence personified. No mercy, just judgement.

The brawl between Sami Callihan and Jimmy Havoc continues, as Callihan tries to choke. Havoc beats him up with a “wet floor” sign, before Callihan returns the favor. The fight goes into a bathroom, and I think it’s safe to say we won’t be having much of a match tonight between these two.

Next week is the “Mexican Massacre” match between Pentagon Jr. and LA Park.

Shane Strickland promo time, and he plans on showing Tom Lawlor that even without his MLW Title, he is still the ace of this company.

MJF and Aria Blake wanted to talk to Low-Ki before he defends his title, but some random bodyguard dude wants nothing to do with them.

Now it’s promo time with Jason Cade, Cade wasn’t a fan of Yuta attacking him from behind, so he kicks a garage door!

MLW CEO, Court Bauer, joins the booth to announce Sami Callihan will take on Jimmy Havoc in a “Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal” match.

We go back to Tom Lawlor vs. Shane Strickland, as Tom Lawlor speaks. He says this is one of the biggest battles of his life, but Lawlor wants the best version of Shane Strickland at Fury Road. It’s time to find out who the future, ace, and best wrestler in MLW is. HYPE!

A video package is shown for Low-Ki vs. Fenix, which recaps the issues between Konnan and Salina De La Renta.

MLW World Heavyweight Championship: Low-Ki (c) w/Salina De La Renta vs. Fenix w/Konnan

This was an absolutely awesome main event, one of the best World Title matches to date. Low-Ki took Fenix out of his comfort zone, and this was primarily a violent, bloody brawl. Low-Ki ripped up Fenix’s mask, and Fenix shed blood pretty early on, but that didn’t stop him from almost winning the World Title. Anyone who follows MLW on social media knew that Low-Ki has an upcoming title defense against Daga, which completely ruled out a Fenix win. That aside, they did an amazing job of getting the crowd to cheer on Fenix, and he had a few great near falls, something that other MLW main events have lacked in the past. Great stuff here, and while I thought the finish was a bit awkward, it made sense, as Salina took off the mask, and Fenix had to protect, which meant he had no chance of winning. The Salina/Konnan issues continue…

Winner: Low-Ki

Match Rating: ****

Sami Callihan and Jimmy Havoc CONTINUE TO BRAWL! The fight went all the way out to the parking lot, where Jimmy Havoc told Sami Callihan it’s time to die, luckily for Callihan he had time to run away.

Final Thoughts:

This was a pretty solid week of MLW Fusion, showcasing two good matches, and a focused brawl between Sami Callihan and Jimmy Havoc. The Middleweight opener was great, by not only showcasing Myron Reed, but setting up a three way for the title that makes complete sense. After the opener, there were tons of promos and video packages to continue other angles and storylines, but most notably tonight was everything to do with Sami Callihan and Jimmy Havoc. After Havoc laid out the challenge last week, we were supposed to have a match between these two. From the start of the show, these two brawled all over the arena, and it set up a “Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal” match at Fury Road. On top of that, we had a GREAT main event between Fenix and Low-Ki. Fenix looked as strong as possible, and was even protected in the finish as Low-Ki continues to roll as MLW Champion. There’s tons of good matches coming up from MLW, so let’s hope they keep putting out quality episodes like this one.

Final Rating: 7.0/10
