NXT APRIL 10TH 2019

Candice LeRae vs. Aliyah
This was a decent match and a decent performance from Aliyah, who as pointed out, has been around a long time and is only now finding some success since they paired her with Vanessa Borne. The finish came a bit out of nowhere here, with Candice hitting the quebrada and winning clean, after Borne had gotten involved earlier without any comeuppance. Candice seemed to mess up her knee on the quebrada, but presumably ended up being okay.

Recap of Riddle and Dream. They then showed a Dream promo on his phone, from Wrestlemania, where Buddy Murphy was walking by after his match and Dream insulted him for losing. This didn’t feel like it was set up and Dream just decided to diss Murphy as he was walking by, because he got in shot, but a match came out of it either way.

Recap of Ricochet and Black’s match with War Raiders and them bowing to each other afterwards.

KUSHIDA’s appearance at Takeover was covered, with the contract signing then shown.

Danny Burch vs. Jaxson Ryker
This was a similar story to Ryker’s match with Lorcan last week. Ryker looks great and he did fine, but he hasn’t shown that next level. The big spot here came from Lorcan crossbodying Blake off the apron onto Cutler, before Ryker avoided losing to a surprise small package and hit the sitout chokeslam for the pin. I feel like Ryker comes off way better and more intimidating outside of the bells. Post match Lorcan tried to save Burch from a second choke bomb from Ryker and got beaten down three on one for his trouble.

Women’s Title match recap. Shayna was interviewed and said it didn’t matter who or how many were put in front of her, she was never losing the title.

WALTER/Dunne recap. Dunne was interviewed post match and said there’d be a rematch.

Gargano versus Cole got the big production recap. Undisputed Era were shown backstage afterwards, with Cole seeming to blame Strong before noticing the camera and telling them to turn it off.

Street Profits vs. Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel
Montez spent 90% of this match taking a beating, with just a brief hot tag from Dawkins in the middle and when Aichner hit Ford with the double springboard moonsault, it looked like Street Profits were on for a really decisive loss. Montez kicked out though and they turned things around at the end to pin Barthel with the doomsday blockbuster.

RECOMMENDED VIEWING: All three matches were okay but nonessential this time.
