Beyond Wrestling’s “Uncharted Territory” Episode 6 live from the Electric Haze in Worcester, Massachusetts took place on May 8th. Your commentary team are Paul Crockett and Anthony Greene. Your ring announcer is Rich Palladino. In this episode Beyond Wrestling is celebrating 10 years as a promotion.

The show starts off with a bunch of Beyond Wrestling originals in the ring. Chris Dickinson makes his entrance. He states that from now until he faces Daisuke Sekimoto at Americanrana, he wants the biggest and the best. He calls Josh Briggs out to the ring.

Josh Briggs is returning from a dislocated hip he suffered back in March at an Evolve event. Even with the injury, the match begins at a stalemate. Dickinson begins to work not one but both legs of Briggs. Briggs fights back with a chokeslam on the apron but his signature Go To Hell is countered into a dragon screw.  Dickinson locks in the Trailer Hitch submission hold but Briggs reaches for the ropes. A second attempt at the Go To Hell is successful, but only gets a two count. Dickinson is later able to reverse Briggs’ new finisher and lock in the Trailer Hitch once again but this time Briggs is forced to tap. Good opening match. I hate to see Briggs lose so soon after returning from an injury but the momentum builds for Dickinson going into his big match at Americanrana.

Cam Zagami is backstage interviewing Brad Hollister, the newest wrestler to step into the Discovery Gaunlet. Hollister is trained by his opponent, the returning Thomas Santell. Even though he’s new to Beyond, Hollister is best known for his work in Northeast Wrestling, where he is the former heavyweight champion in that promotion.

Both men enter the ring and Santell tries to trick Hollister by dropping his glasses on the mat. Hollister is not falling for it and says that he watched last week. They kick the glasses back and forth until Hollister hits Santell with a takedown. Santell dominates the match with mat wrestling. Hollister tries to come back with big moves. A popup powerbomb is unable to put Santell away. Hollister gets frustrated and gets in the face of referee Kevin Quinn. This causes Santell to gain the advantage and executes a banana split pin for three. This was a entertaining mat wrestling match. Thomas Santell is a crowd favorite and a great fit in Beyond. Any match that has Ovaltine chants is a good match in my eyes.

The next match is a Beyond Wrestling Throwback 6 man tag team match under Warehouse Rules. Warehouse Rules meaning, there are no rules. The team of Johnny Cockstrong, Nicholas Kaye and Eric Corvis is set to take on Jefferson Saint, Chase Burnett and Zane Silver. The match is filled with a ton of action throughout. A standout move was when Burnett hit a sunset flip powerbomb and followed up with moonsault knees to the back of Corvis’ head. The ending comes when Johnny Cockstrong hits his signature air raid crash onto the top turnbuckle for the win. The crowd starts to chant “five more minutes.”

Believe it or not, the next match is a first time ever match between Matt Cross and Joey Janela. Cross shows off his athleticism at the start of the match with a handspring cartwheel elbow and a springboard crossbody. A double stomp off the top rope onto Janela’s back followed by a bicycle kick doesn’t put Janela away. Janela comes back with a nasty Death Valley Driver and a frogsplash but only gets a two count. Cross is able to come back and hits a springboard cutter. After it’s unable to keep Janela down for a three count he attempts it a second time. Cross receives a boot to the gut and a match ending package piledriver. Janela grabs the mic and says when he was 14 years old, he had two dream opponents. One of them Nick Mondo and the other against Cross. Both men embrace in a show of respect. Fun match from two of the best on the independent scene.

Jordynne Grace earned a Independent Wrestling Televison Championship match by pinning the champion Orange Cassidy in a tag team match back at episode 1. This will be the 14th title defense for Orange Cassidy.

Cassidy calls for a test of strength to begin the match but he ends up putting his hands in his pockets. Grace uses her strength and toys with the champion for most of the match. Cassidy comes back with a suicide dive but not able to keep the momentum as Grace slams him face first into the ring apron. Grace slams a fan, that happens to look a lot like Travis Huckabee, onto Cassidy. Grace then is pulled off the apron by Cassidy. He calls for a fan, but this time the fan slams Cassidy onto his opponent. Cassidy follows up with a DDT off the top rope but it does’t put Grace away. Grace later hits a disgusting Michinoku driver that dumps Cassidy on his head. She follows up with a series of German Suplexes, but before the third one, Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets. Grace goes for the pumphandle but is unable to grab her opponent’s hands. Cassidy is able to surprise Grace with a pin and the victory. Very good match that had a great ending. Orange Cassidy continues his excellent reign as Independent Wrestling Televison Champion.

Before the match begins, Chuck O’Neil enters the ring and grabs the mic from Rich Palladino. You can barely hear O’Neil on top of the boos from the crowd. He says death match wrestling is crap and he’s going to make Beyond Wrestling legit again. Rory Gulak chases him away with a barbed wired bat.

The death match starts off with a collar elbow tie up. Eric Ryan goes for a suicide dive but gets hit with a wiffle ball bat with forks attached to it. Ryan is busted open. Ryan comes back with a Van Terminator into a fork board. At one point Ryan sticks forks into RSP’s body. Sick stuff. On top of that he stuck syringes through Page’s cheeks. A shopping cart with forks sticking out the side of it makes it’s way into the ring. Page powerbombs Ryan off the top rope and into the shopping cart. The match somehow continues. Rickey Shane Page ends it with a top rope powerbomb onto a barbed wired door. What a crazy deathmatch and main event to end the show.

A video plays of an upset David Starr. Mr. Americanrana is upset that he wasn’t invited to Lethal Lottery, the event leading up to Americanrana. He says he’s showing up the Uncharted Territory next week to announce who he’s fighting at this year’s Americanrana.

Overall:

Beyond Wrestling continues their momentum with solid shows every week. Every match in this episode was good and the show built up going into the main event. Chris Dickinson is starting his journey to Americanrana with the first of a number of big matches. The discovery gauntlet continues to be a treat and open people’s eyes to talent they may not have seen before. There was also a first time ever match along with a championship match, and an insane death match with two of Beyond’s originals to end the episode. If you aren’t watching Uncharted Territory weekly, you should start.
