The biggest weekend in independent wrestling is here. The Collective kicks off tomorrow at noon with 12 shows taking place over the course of 3 days. Here’s 10 matches that I think you should look out for during The Collective weekend.

Discuss this in our Official Collective Thread. Join our awesome forum with some great members!

* Note: There’s no Lee Moriarty matches on this list because I’m looking forward to all of them. Take a look at Lee Moriarty’s huge weekend of matches HERE.

Blake Christian vs. Starboy Charlie – Jimmy Lloyd’s D-Generation F

A little over a year ago, Blake Christian made his GCW debut at the Basement East in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then Christian has been on a tear in GCW, defeating guys such as Tony Deppen, ACH, and Joey Janela. Blake Christian has quickly become one of the top names in independent wrestling. To kick off his weekend in Indianapolis he faces the 17 year old upstart from the So-Cal wrestling scene, Starboy Charlie. At his young age he has already shared the ring with talents such as Tony Deppen and Will Hobbs, even picking up victories against Jake Atlas and B-Boy. He made his GCW debut earlier this year at “Just Being Honest” and was bound for a star making 2020 before the pandemic hit. A victory over one of the top names in GCW could solidify him a regular spot on the GCW roster.

Erick Stevens vs. Brett Ison – Southern Underground Pro’s Swing of the Axe

Erick Stevens is making his Southern Underground Pro debut against the most dominant Bonestorm Champion, “The Iron Elbow” Brett Ison. Ison has been a staple for S.U.P. since day one and you would have to expect that he’s looking to play spoiler for Stevens’ debut. This will be a hard hitting slugfest between the two, might be one of the hardest hitting matches of the weekend.

Matthew Justice w/ Fonzie vs. Joshua Bishop w/ Wes Barkley – AIW Presents Thunder In Indianapolis

In a match that was originally set for April in Tampa, Matthew Justice with ECW’s Bill Alfonzo in his corner, will be taking on Joshua Bishop and Rip City Shooter stablemate, Wes Barkley in his corner. These two men have been feuding in AIW for over a year. No Disqualification matches, Falls Count Anywhere matches, and Street Fights have all led to this. One of the most violent matches in wrestling, a No Rope Barbed Wire Match for the Absolute Title. This won’t be for the faint of heart.

2 Cold Scorpio vs. AR Fox – GCW For The Culture

This past Sunday at Violence x Suffering’s “Legends Never Die” 2 Cold Scorpio had shown that he still has it, or better yet, that he never lost it, when he squared off against Jordan Oliver. At GCW For The Culture, the 33 year veteran and ECW legend, will take on “the highest flyer in the game” AR Fox. 2 Cold Scorpio has been wrestling for as long as Fox has been alive, so this will be a dream match of different generations.

ACH vs. Lio Rush – Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4

This is one of the biggest matches of the weekend. Two men that recently made their way back to independent wrestling after lackluster WWE runs. Also, two men that were ready to retire from the sport of professional wrestling. Even though this match isn’t on GCW For The Culture, this match is important for independent wrestling and for the culture. Expect this to be one of the best matches of the weekend.

Alex Shelley vs. Tony Deppen – Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4

Another match that was scheduled for Tampa this past April was Alex Shelley vs. Tony Deppen. Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4 is able to play host to Alex Shelley vs. Tony Deppen. The 18 year veteran is one of Tony Deppen’s dream opponents. Right now Deppen is at the top of his game and Shelley looks better than he ever has in his career. This will be a great matchup on a show that is totally bonkers on paper.

The Rascalz vs. IronBeast – Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4

Although the team of KTB and Shane Mercer, haven’t been teaming long, they have already proved that they’re a force to be reckoned with. While Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz have been a tag team for over 4 years. It will be the speed and experience of The Rascalz taking on the size and strength of IronBeast. A clash of styles always call for great matches. Expect this one to be wild.

Josh Alexander vs. Leyla Hirsch – BLP Threat Level Noon

Black Label Pro is coming to The Collective is a pretty awesome card. The 16 year vet, Josh Alexander will be taking on “Legit” Leyla Hirsch. Leyla Hirsch has shown in her short career that she is indeed legit. No stranger to intergender wrestling, she’s willing to take on all comers. This match has the potential to turn out being a very physical match.

Killer Kelly vs. Killer Kylie (Kylie Rae) – BLP Threat Level Noon

A match that was scheduled for WARHAUSEN’s WrestleVania, Killer Kelly will be making a rare appearance in the United States and her Black Label Pro debut, to take on Killer Kylie, aka Kylie Rae. Rae has shown that she is one of the best wrestlers in the world but she will have to bring her A game to take on the tough Killer Kelly. Will we see a killer side from the former BLP Midwest Champion?

Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Josh Alexander – Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport

Davey Boy Smith Jr. is no stranger to Bloodsport. He has competed in both of the previous Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport events and has picked up victories against Killer Kross and “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. This would be Josh Alexander’s first time stepping inside a Bloodsport ring. You would have to expect Alexander to be a perfect fit for the show. Expect this match to be hard hitting.
