After having to change plans last year, the independent wrestling Mecca returns for another go around on Mania Weekend! GCW’s third annual Collective is set to feature wrestler centered shows, companies on the verge of breaking out and a tournament to honor the late Trent Acid. Yet again, I’ve sorted through all the excitement and have put together another list of ten matches I’m most excited for. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled tomorrow when my good friend Luis drops his list and let us know what you think on Twitter @PWPonderings.

Skye Blue vs Billie Starkz vs Rok-C – Jimmy Lloyd’s D-Generation F

This is one hell of a way to kick of The Collective. Billie, Skye and Rok-C may be young, but they’re looking to show the wrestling world that they’re ready to take the wrestling world by storm! And if that means doing so by running through each other then so be it. By graphic alone we are looking at not just the future of women’s wrestling, but wrestling at large.

Jordan Oliver vs Edith Surreal – The Acid Cup 3

Edith Surreal is no stranger to tournaments as she’s won the first ever Cassandro Cup, Camp Leapfrog’s Christmas Trios, and the fifteenth Young Lions Cup. Now she steps into third Acid Cup taking on one of the hottest on the indies, Jordan Oliver. Oliver has racked up wins against the likes of AJ Gray and Tony Deppen; and even reached the Semi-Finals of last year’s Acid Cup. Surreal is truly in a situation where she has everything to gain with one victory over this GCW cornerstone.

Nick Gage vs RSP – rSpring Break

This is a rematch fourteen months in the making. Last time these two shared a ring one-on-one, The Showboat Casino exploded with vitriol as Rickey Shane Page beat The King. Now with Gage coming back from injury and having a guaranteed GCW Title shot under his belt, he’s called his shot for Spring Break. Will the leader of Murder Death Kill Gang regain the belt he has coveted so? Or will 44.OH dictate the terms of battle yet again?

MASADA vs Atticus Cogar – rSpring Break

We have a fight months in the making as fans began speculating who would beat who. Now after months of taunting and calling out by Atticus, it goes down on one of the indies’ biggest stages. You can bet that “The Ultraviolent Beast” is looking to beat respect into the young Cogar.

Gringo Loco, Black Taurus and Arez vs. Laredo Kid, Dragon Bane and Aramis – rSpring Break

Any combination of these six competitors could make for a tremendous match. Luckily for us, we have all six together in one ring! This is one that will most definitely harken back to ECW Barely Legal’s Michinoku Pro Six Man Tag that set the building ablaze.

No Disqualification Match: Dr. Cube vs JTG – VxS: Lucid Dreams

As a Kaiju Big Battel fan this is one of the absolute highlights of my Mania Weekend. The dastardly Dr. Cube has crossed over from terrorizing monsters of the Kaiju world to terrorizing the pro wrestling world at large. At the last VxS show he zeroed in on former WWE Superstar JTG seemingly out of nowhere. Now JTG must overcome the odds of Dr. Cube and his Posse to claim victory in this fight.

Pure Rules: AJ Gray vs Daniel Garcia – VxS: Lucid Dreams

“The Truth” AJ Gray is known and loved for his ability to club the life out of his opponents. However his skills will be to the test as he stepped between the ropes under Pure Rules against “Red Death” Daniel Garcia. Garcia is renowned for his technical wrestling prowess and this set of rules definitely favors him. Though I wouldn’t count AJ out as he carries the size advantage over Daniel and you know he’ll use that to his advantage.

Parrow’s Twink Hunter Tag Gauntlet – Effy’s Big Gay Brunch

Last year, Parrow made the biggest of splashes at the inaugural Big Gay Brunch when he eliminated numerous twinks in the second ever Twink Gauntlet. Now he’s coming back with a vengeance, and his tag team partner in The End, Odinson. These two who to laid away IronBeast during Fight Forever are sure to run through hoards of twinks before they even break a sweat. One would even have to ponder if there are enough twinks in the space of wrestling to even stop The End.

Danny Havoc Tribute Match: Alex Colon vs Lucky 13 – Alex Colon Produce: Planet Death

To pay tribute to someone is to honor and celebrate their life and memory. Doing so while covered in your own blood is something different entirely; which is what Alex Colon and Lucky 13 are set to do. One could only imagine what contraptions and implements of destruction will be used to honor one of the legends of ultraviolence.

Casanova Valentine vs Hoodfoot – Unsanctioned Pro: Fueled By Spite

This is a fight that nobody saw coming and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited for it. Casanova Valentine is known as the King of the No Ring Deathmatch, but Hoodfoot has been known to merc all comers with his violent Overhand Right. These two are set to put on a match that could very well be the modern Joe vs Necro.
