Effy’s Big Gay Brunch events have been some of the most unique and entertaining events of the wrestling year and this installment is looking to be much of the same. Here is a look at the announced card for the show this Sunday, September 5 at Noon EST on FITE.

Effy vs Jake Atlas

This is a main event match anywhere in the world at any promotion. This rivalry started before Atlas signed to WWE and looks to be picking up where it left off. I am very excited where this will go and how each will approach the match. These two wrestlers have the same goals but go about it two very different ways. Effy sees himself as a gay wrestler while Atlas sees himself as a wrestler who is gay. Those two trains of thought may not seem too different but to these two individuals they certainly are. Jake defeated Effy the last time that they fought in 2019, but this is a whole different Effy and Jake better be ready for a very rude welcome back to the indies.

Allie Katch vs Dark Sheik

This is another main event quality match. Allie has become more serious as of late and has proven that she can go toe to toe with anyone on the mat, with strikes or in a hardcore brawl. Sheik has also proven that she can wrestle any style.

At the first Big Gay Brunch Sheik and Edith Surreal had the match of the day and some say the match of the year putting on a technical masterpiece. Since then she has really shown the wrestling world what she is capable of by defeating AC Mack at the next brunch, defeating Trish Adora in a no ring match at No Peace’s “Fear the Gay Agenda” and standing toe to toe with Nick Gage in a death match.

Allie Katch has also had a very brutal match with Nick Gage, and we know that she will use any weapon at her disposal, recently even using a knife. Not only crreal, an Allie fight in death matches with the best the genre has to offer, but she can also exchange strikes and submissions with anyone as she has proven in great matches against Molly McCoy at PolyAm Cult Party 3 and against MV Young at Enjoy Wrestling. This match could go in any direction and possibly multiple different directions before the match is over, so this will be very exciting and interest to watch.

Parrow vs Jordan Blade

In what may be one of the most physical matches of the brunch Parrow and Jordan Blade will fight in a bare-knuckle brawl. You would think that this type of match would favor Parrow just based on his size and strength advantage, but you would be discounting the power of Jordan’s strikes and her ability to take her opponent to the ground and make them submit. Parrow has collected accolades and championships everywhere he has gone, in the US and Japan.

As part of The End, he has been very successful in All Japan and has also won tag titles in New South and FIP. As a singles wrestler he currently holds the No Peace Championship and became wrestling’s daddy by defeating Effy in a last daddy standing match. Even with all those accolades and the size advantage Parrow will not be able to intimidate Jordan Blade, as she is not intimidated by anything.

The Daddy of the District and half of the Kings of the District, Jordan has been on quite a roll herself. Jordan is the current holder of the Paradigm Super Middleweight Championship and the Pro Wrestling Magic Women’s Championship. Jordan is an expert in BJJ, so she will look to take Parrow off of his feet and work on him on the mat, where she will look to lock in the ankle lock and pull off what many may consider an upset.

Frontman Jah vs Ace Perry

Frontman Jah has been on quite a roll lately and is looking to live up to his name and be center stage at all times. Jah comes from the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy and has really made a name for himself in the past few years in promotions like F1st Wrestling, GCW and JCW. He has been one of the top wrestlers in the rebirth of JCW, defeating JJ Garrett, Everett Connors and Ken Broadway.

Ace Perry on the other hand is someone that is very familiar with Effy, and you have to figure that Effy is putting him up against Jah as a test to see how far he has come. Perry lost his soul in a match against Effy at Bizzaro Lucha. After an altercation at the Big Gay Block, Ace was able to win his soul back at the last BGB event. He has been winning some matches after obtaining his soul back, but a victory over Frontman Jah on this type of stage could be his biggest.

SGC’s Matthew Justice and Mance Warner vs MV Young and Straight Bill Dixon

The leader of the PolyAm Cult and Straight Bill look to take the GCW tag titles from Second Gear Crew. This should be an insane match as SGC is always up for a crazy fight. MV is going to be looking to take out some frustrations that he has lingering from last weekend’s canceled Woodstock shows.

I also think that we are all hoping that Bill getting hit in the head in just the right spot will knock the straight out of him. Bill said that he became straight from getting hit in the head, so let’s see if we have learned something from those cartoons that we watched as a kid and a good shot with a chair from Mance or Justice can give us all the Billy Dixon that we knew and loved. SGC better not be taking this match lightly and drinking too many light beers the night before because if they do MV and Bill will be walking out of the brunch as the new GCW Tag Team Champions.

Edith Surreal vs Veda Scott

This is a match up between a veteran and one of the top young stars in wrestling today. Veda has been doing a lot of commentary lately, but do not discredit them for a second as they are still on top of their game and can defeat anyone that they step in the ring with. Veda has wrestled all over the world during their career and has stood in the ring with some of the top stars including RSP, Ethan Page, Nikki Cross and Shayna Baszler. She is going to have to use that experience advantage against someone who is considered one of the top wrestlers in the indies today.

Edith can wrestle any style, as she has had brutal matches against the likes of Effy and Masha Slamovich and technical masterpieces against Lee Moriarty and Dark Sheik. I would think that Edith will look to take Veda down to the mat and lock in one of her submission holds, but Veda is a very smart wrestler and looks to have a reversal for whatever Edith has in store.

Devon Monroe vs Ashton Starr

You have a lot of hard hitting and technical matches on this card and these two can strike when they want to. They are also going to give you a match filled with flare, style and excitement. These are 2 of the most stylish wrestlers today. From their entrances alone they will leave you gasping by how great they look. Once they start the match, they will take your breath away again at the quickness and ease in which they can inflict pain on their opponent. Devon is someone that just has natural skills and has been on a steady rise during his short career.

Devon has had mixed results at Effy’s shows but always has amazing matches. He won the first Twink Gauntlet with a surprise pin on Parrow at the first Big Gay Brunch. He then went on to face Dark Sheik at the Big Gay Block and Edith Surreal the next BGB. While he did not gain victories in these matchups, he was very impressive and against 2 of the best in the business.

Ashton Starr has an experience advantage on Devon and has been climbing the ranks in the south for years and is finally regarded as one of the top stars as he should be. He has an incredible style, but do not let that fool you, he can strike with anyone once he steps in the ring. Ashton has had an incredible year and looks to add to that with a victory here. He has defeated Dillion McQueen at the Big Gay Block and then went on to win the Boy Butter Slippery Scramble at the second BGB. He also made it to the finals of the Cassandro Cup before being defeated by Edith Surreal. This should be a very entertaining match, but do not let the appearance of these two competitors fool you, they may look very pretty, but they can throw down when they need to.

Keita Murray vs Dillon McQueen vs Jai Vidal vs Kung Fu Janela vs Brooke Valentine vs AC Mack

You have six very talented and unique individuals in this match. AC Mack would have to be the favorite in this match as he has been successful everywhere that he has been, winning titles in Action, SUP and Southern Honor Wrestling. He has also recently won the Scenic City Invitational Tournament. His only weakness seems to be his arrogance, so he better not be too cocky or one of these other five wrestlers will take home the win.

I will just say that I saw Dillion McQueen in passing last weekend and he looks like some Greek statue that came to life. Dillion not only looks like he was perfectly sculpted he is also incredible in the ring. Trained by the likes of Cody Rhodes, Kane, Dr. Tom Pitchard, Glacier and QT Marshall, he has the talent and knowledge to defeat any opponent put in his way.

One of the veterans in this match, the Bisexual King, The Key Keita Murray looks to unlock that key to victory. He has been impressing people all over the west coast and currently holds the Without a Cause Stallions Championship. He even has a victory over The Miz and Shane McMahon on Smackdown. But a victory in this match over this type of competition may be the biggest victory of his career.

Jai Vidal is someone that has made a name for themselves in FSW in Las Vegas and has defeated Keita at No Peace in Vegas by power bombing him through a door. Jai may come to the ring with a smile and looking great, but you know that they are tough, as they trained at the Gangrel Wrestling Asylum and that place is no joke.

Kung Fu Janela, the cousin of AEW star Joey Janela has made a huge name for himself and it is not only because of his last name. Janela has used his kung fu skills to earn championships in Pro South Wrestling and New South. He had quite a rivalry with one of the top wrestlers in the south in Derek Neal, who he defeated to win the New South title. He has also had quite a rivalry with another person in this match, Dillon McQueen. We might need to keep an eye on that and see if that comes into play in the match.

Last but certainly not least is the incredible Queen Bee Brooke Valentine. Brooke has been impressing people everywhere she goes. Not only is she incredibly beautiful, but she is tough as hell too.  She has been having amazing matches in the Midwest for promotions like Zelo Pro and Zowa and even won the Britney Spears Open Invitational Five-way match at the Cassandro Cup. There may be some favorites in this match, but anyone could win, and it could certainly help take the winner’s career to the next level.
