MLW Fusion Alpha episode #12 began with Arez taking on Aramis, with the winner earning a briefcase filled with Cesar Duran’s money. Additionally, nZo made his MLW debut against Matt Cross. And in the main event, Los Parks defended their MLW Tag Team Championship against 5150 in a Philly Street Fight. The latest installment of the Fusion Alpha miniseries can be viewed below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • The CONTRA segment was really well done. I love the mystery surrounding Josef Samael and Jacob Fatu’s whereabouts. I am excited to see how this storyline progresses.
  • Matt Cross is an incredibly fun performer to watch. Cross makes his movements look effortless. Matt has a ton of talent and I look forward to watching more of his matches in MLW.

Weak Points of the Show

  • Holidead and Dr. Dax’s apperance with Arez seemed really random since this was the first time on camera the three of them were seen together. Hopefully, the alliance between Dax, Holidead and Arez is elaborated on more in the future.
  • Unfortunately, Arez and Aramis did not wrestle as smooth of a match this time around. Their match was not bad by any means. However, there were different spots throughout the match where timing and/or communication seemed off.
  • Not sure why the announcers seemed appalled by LA Park’s interference during the main event. The match was a street fight, and in theory there are no rules to be followed for these types of matches.

Other Notes

  • Willow Nightingale promised to show Holidead her dark side.
  • Emilio Sparks confronted Myron Reed and asked Reed where his head was at. Then, Karlee Perez appeared and let Reed know that he was going to hit rock bottom. Perez promised that she would pick Myron up when his downfall occurred.
  • Emilio Sparks questioned Alex Hammerstone about Hammerstone’s recent injuries. Before Alex could respond, Matanza attacked Hammerstone. The two men fought backstage throughout the program. At one point, Hammerstone and Matanza interrupted a conversation between Alicia Atout and Richard Holliday. Hammerstone used Holliday’s coffee mug to lay out Matanza.
  • Tajiri’s match with AJPW’s Atsuki Aoyagi for the World Middleweight Championship will air on next week’s Fusion Alpha.
  • KC Navarro came down to ringside for an interview following nZo’s match with Matt Cross. nZo attacked KC Navarro and laid him out at ringside before the interview could take place.
  • Calvin Tankman attempted to attack Alex Kane and Mr. Thomas in the parking lot. Kane and Thomas drove away before any serious damage could be done.

Match Results

  • Arez (with Holidead and Dr. Dax) defeated Aramis via pinfall to earn Cesar Duran’s briefcase.
  • nZo defeated Matt Cross via pinfall.
  • Philly Street Fight for the MLW Tag Team Championship: 5150 (with Julius Smokes and Konnan) defeated Los Parks (Hijo de LA Park and La Park Jr.) via pinfall to become the new MLW Tag Team Champions.

I apologize for getting this recap out late folks. I had surgery on Wednesday and have been recuperating since then. Hope you all enjoyed this week’s Fusion Alpha!
