MLW Fusion Alpha episode #13 started off with Holidead vs. Willow Nightingale. Then, Homicide competed against LA Park. And in the main event, Tajiri defended his MLW World Middleweight Championship against AJPW’s Atsuki Aoyagi. MLW Fusion Alpha’s season finale can be viewed below.
Strong Points of the Show
- I like that Arez’s alliance with Holidead and Dr. Dax was acknowledged this week. However, I am still not sure why these three were paired together. But hopefully this alliance is explained in greater detail soon.
- EJ Nduka’s profile was well done. Based on this profile and EJ Nduka’s recent performances, I predict that EJ Nduka will become a big star in 2022.
- Learning about Charlie Bruzzese’s history in the professional wrestling industry was really cool. Moreover, it was a really classy touch by MLW to honor Charlie during their last show in Philadelphia.
- Tajiri and Atsuki Aoyagi wrestled a really great match tonight. After all these years, Tajiri definitely still has it in him.
Weak Points of the Show
- Seeing Blue Meanie at ringside was great for nostalgic purposes. But I wish he would have gotten involved sooner in Willow Nightingale’s match. The fact that Meanie was talking with the referee while Dax interfered in the beginning of the match looked silly.
Other Highlights
- Tonight’s episode was the season finale of MLW’s Fusion Alpha mini series. For the next couple of weeks, MLW Fusion will go on a short hiatus. MLW’s next installment of Fusion begins on Thursday, January 6th, 2022. The new standalone series will be called MLW: Azteca. The series will focus on MLW superstars taking on The Crash promotion’s superstars in Mexico.
- 5150 celebrated their MLW Tag Team Championship win over Los Parks. Later on, 5150 met with Cesar Duran. Duran told 5150 that they were headed to Mexico.
- The Von Erichs received their contract to face 5150 for the MLW Tag Team Championship in Dallas.
- The announcers let the audience know that KC Navarro suffered a fractured neck after nZo’s attack last week.
- Rok-C will debut for MLW during MLW’s January show in Dallas.
- Mr. Thomas (Alex Kane’s Bomaye Fight Club associate) pressed charges against Calvin Tankman after Tankman’s assault last week. Later on in the broadcast, Calvin Tankman announced on the phone that his bail was posted.
- Alex Hammerstone and Pagano vs. King Muertes and Taurus was announced for the debut episode of MLW: Azteca.
- At the end of the show, Alex Hammerstone warned Cesar Duran not to mess with him again.
