The road from contender to challenger is a long and trying one. In order to even have a taste of title match glory, you must go through competitor after competitor like a mack truck to reach the champion at the top. Its at the end of this road that you’ll find AC Mack, who is no doubt stepping into the biggest match of his career. Awaiting him on the other side is Alex Shelley: wrestling veteran, technical genius and current IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion.

AC Mack

Accolades: 1st & Longest Reigning ACTION Wrestling Champion (798 Days. 15 Defenses.) SUP Bonestorm Champion (369 Days. 6 Defenses.) 2021 Scenic City Invitational Winner.

Back in August, emboldened by defeating Jeremy Wyatt, Alex Kane, Daniel Garcia and Daniel Makabe all in one night, AC Mack called his shot. He called out then champ, Wheeler YUTA, for a shot at the IWTV Independent Wrestling World Championship. Fast forward to December, we have a new champion and AC Mack’s challenge is finally set for Southeast First. By all means, “The Mack of All Trades” has everything to gain on his home turf no less. With his approach to the match left ambiguous, and his “by any means” attitude, we could very well have a new IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion.

Alex Shelley

Accolades: Current IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion (104 Days. 2 Defenses.). BLP Midwest Champion (335 Days. 3 Defenses.). 2020 BLP Turbo Graps-16 Winner.

With two decades in the wrestling business, Alex Shelley has become a standard of bell-to-bell wrestling. Even this late in his career, he has had great matches with the likes of Ruby Soho, Wheeler YUTA and Daniel Garcia. Some might say his IWTV Title reign hasn’t been fruitful as he has only defended only twice. However, he still maintains a threatening presence on the mat. A win here would certainly give the remaining contenders a reminder that Shelley is still a fighting champion.

With space and time between them, both competitors are locked in a must win situation. Shelley needs the win to re-establish his position as top of the indies, while AC has months of talk to back up in victory here. This match is going down live on January 21st at 7:30 PM EST on IWTV.
