Hi everyone! Welcome to this week’s recap for MLW Fusion. This week’s Fusion was headlined by Alex Hammerstone vs. Pagano in a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. Additionally, King Muertes defended his IWA Caribbean Championship against Richard Holliday. And EJ Nduka faced Ikruo Kwon. Watch MLW Fusion #132 below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • I thought Jared Saint Laurent left MLW since he has not been on television in months. However, based on tonight’s vignette, it appears that Saint Laurent is still a part of MLW. Saint Laurent has grown on me over the past year and I look forward to seeing what he does next in MLW.
  • Hearing Ikuro Kwon speak for the first time was fascinating. More so, Kwon did a great job of selling both Nduka and Jacob Fatu’s offense this evening. Hopefully, Ikuro makes more appearances for MLW in the next couple of months.
  • As much as I enjoy watching The Dynasty together, I am super intrigued to see Holliday against Hammerstone in the future. Also, I am so glad that Alicia Atout has a new role. I think she will be a great manager for Holliday.

Weak Points of the Show

  • I found it weird that Hammerstone didn’t address the attack by the Azteca Henchmen while speaking with Richard Holliday and Alicia Atout. Hammerstone had a valid reason for not helping Holliday and I don’t understand why that wasn’t acknowledged.

Other Notes/Highlights

  • Cesar Duran opened the show and expressed disappointment in the state of Texas. Then, Duran criticized Alex Hammerstone and promised that Pagano would beat Hammerstone.
  • MLW aired a new opening intro package on tonight’s episode.
  • Towards the end of the opening match, Azteca Henchmen interfered and distracted Holliday. Meanwhile, other Azteca Henchmen attacked Alex Hammerstone backstage.
  • Jacob Fatu discussed his experience of being a drive-by victim. After speaking about the tragic incident, Fatu thanked professional wrestling for saving his life. Then, Fatu expressed disappointment at the demise of CONTRA while also saying some things don’t work out. Lastly, Fatu promised that he would be coming after Hammerstone’s MLW World Heavyweight Championship soon.
  • Another mysterious vignette aired with static footage. At the end of the vignette, there was an indistinguishable person shown. Later on, Killer Kross was announced as the man behind the vignette. Additionally, Killer Kross was announced for MLW’s SuperFight event on February 26th.
  • Rich Bocchini announced nZo would return to MLW at MLW SuperFight.
  • 5150 vs. Los Parks in a ladder match for the MLW Tag Team Championship was announced for next week’s broadcast. After the announcement, 5150 dedicated their match to Konnan, who is in the hospital recovering from surgery.
  • Near the end of the main event, more Azteca Henchmen attempted to interfere on behalf of Pagano. However, the henchmen were stopped by Alex Hammerstone and Richard Holliday.
