Chad Spectacular, the very fashionable and entertaining ring announcer for H2O, is hosting “Chad Spectacular’s Soiree 2: Throwdowns and Pronouns” at the H2O center on March 19. This is the second year that Chad has had his Soiree and this year’s card is stacked with some of the top names in independent wrestling along with some rising stars.

I asked Chad what this event meant to him, and he said, “The show means a lot to me, because it is my way of raising awareness for different issues as well as giving back to the community. My shows are mainly run for charity. I donate a majority of the money I make from the show to different charities.” The charities that he has decided to donate to this year are The Trevor Project and Equality Texas. Chad goes on to say, “Originally I was scared about doing a show, but after talking to Matt Tremont we decided to put on a show. He helps me out with everything and now because of his help I am on to my second show.”

In the main event Terra Callaway, Larry Legend and Chad Spectacular have all handpicked their teams to do battle in a little bit of friendly competition and of course for bragging rights. Representing one of the great ring announcers in the game today, Larry Legend, will be The Outfielders, Shea McCoy and Weber Hatfield. The Outfielders come into this match being the one team that is a regular tag team and will look to use that to their advantage.

Terra, the owner of Dropkick Depression, has chosen 2 young wrestlers to represent her and her roster, Lucas DiSangro and Mach 10. Chad will have the dream team of Ashton Starr and Billy Dixon representing himself. Ashton is no stranger to tag team wrestling as he currently holds the AWE tag belts with Effy. Billy Dixon was number 1 on Outsport’s QWI for not only being an incredible in ring competitor but also for being instrumental in shows like “Butch vs Gore” and “Paris is Bumping”.

In one of the other top matches of the evening, the three competitors involved are not only 3 of the top women’s wrestlers in independent wrestling, but 3 of the top wrestlers in general, and they will lock up in a triple threat match. When most of us were in high school and were Billie Starkz age we were only worried about what college we were going to apply for or who we were going on a date with. While Billie is dealing with all of this, she is also one of the best wrestlers today taking on opponents of any age or gender and typically stealing the show. Billie is currently the Girl Fight champion and defeated one of the most decorated veterans in Mickie Knuckles to win that belt.

One of her opponents in the match is Edith Surreal, who is a top mat grappler and can lock in a submission from any angle. In only a few years Edith has gone from being a Young Lions Cup champion to a top contender of the Independent Wrestling Championship. She has blossomed from a piece of art to an incredible woman in front of our eyes and her journey is only beginning.

The third member of this match is possibly the most unpredictable. Away from the ring Kennedi Copeland takes care of animals and is incredibly caring, but once she steps in that ring something changes as she becomes one of the toughest wrestlers to do battle. In the past year Kennedi has competed in some of the most violent matches including a 1,000,000-block match, a Taipei fist match and a barbed wire match. She is currently the H2O Hybrid champion and while she may be smaller than a lot of her opponents, there are not many that are tougher than her.

In addition to these two outstanding matches there is much more at this event. Eddy McQueen will put the Divas Championship on the line in a “She’s a Diva!” Battle Royal. This Battle Royal will include Eddy, Adonis Valerio, Marcus Mathers, Eris Spiral, Jacob Tarasso, Jared Evans, Kid Koleon, Santiago, Markus Skyler, Stan Stylez and more. The 2021 Super 8 winner Killian McMurphy takes on the H2O Heavyweight Champion Deklan Grant in a one-on-one matchup. In what should be an incredible technical matchup Eel O’neal will take on Reid Walker. Former opponents, Jenny Rose and The Unwilting Tatiana take on Lady Blakely and Jess Moss in a tag team match.

There will also be a 6 person Philly vs Jersey tag team match as Rocket, Duncan Aleem and Cecilio Vega take on Alex Stretch, Anthraxx and “Big Red” Ryan Redfield. The always fashionable Runway, Tyler Klein and Calvin Couture, will also make an appearance. We do not quite know what The Runway will be doing when they get to the event, but they always make sure that the spotlight is on them and will tell you exactly how they feel, especially about what you are wearing.

I have watched wrestling all of my life, from WWF and NWA to ECW and then indie shows. I have been steadily going to independent wrestling shows since 2002.
