17 year old wrestling prodigy Nick Wayne flight home this past weekend was diverted due to a bomb threat.
The Seattle native and son of Pacific Northwest legend Buddy Wayne, was traveling home following his PROGRESS Wrestling debut when the plane he was on was diverted.
He accompanied by his mother, Shayna Edwards, who assured friends and family that they were okay in a Facebook post.
“Yes, Nick and I were on a flight with a bomb on it.
Yes, it was 6 hrs of madness like I’ve never experienced.
Yes, we are safe.
No, we are not home.
And no, I don’t know when we will be.”
The flight was flying from Frankfurt, Germany to Seattle. However, the plane was forced to turn around over Greenland. The plane was diverted to Keflavik, Iceland.
Following the incident Wayne took to Twitter to thank everyone who reached out.

Wayne squared off against Robbie X at Progress Wrestling’s Chapter 136: 24/7. He was originally scheduled to compete against Swerve Strickland but the match was changed last minute due to travel issues.
🚨 24/7 Update 🚨
Sadly, due to a very delayed flight with United Airlines, Swerve Strickland is unable to be at today’s show and is stuck in transit.
We’re working on bringing him back over soon for his much anticipated match with Nick Wayne 💯
