Now that MLW’s Superfight TV Tapings are in the rear view mirror, we take a look back at the event. As well as the biggest takeaways and possible storylines going forward.

Alex Hammerstone vs Jacob Fatu 2 Was Another Classic

It is not hard to see that Jacob Fatu and Alex Hammerstone are the top stars in MLW and have been for sometime. Their work is excellent and when they are in the ring together, magic happens! This match was nothing short of that and lived up to the hype, with the crowd being into it the entire time.  Chants for both competitors went on throughout the match. This was easily the match of the night!

There Appears To Be An Angle Starting With Akira & MLW Champion Alex Hammerstone
After a grueling match with Jacob Fatu, Akira and his group with Raven came out and did a number on the champion Hammerstone. They left him beaten and tied up in the ring ropes. I am interested to see where MLW will go with this?

Cesar Duran Was Missing From Tapings & It Appears Someone Took Him
Cesar Duran was missing from ringside during the Sam Adonis match. He was also absent from Valkyrie’s Championship Match. John Hennigan & Sam Adonis accompanied Taya Valkyrie for her match. It appears this trio have now formed their own group. Adonis was holding a poster board asking for the whereabouts of Duran. After the match, Taya said Duran is missing and if anyone knows his whereabouts to please contact 1-900-LUCHA.

Lio Rush Looks To Be Involved In The Middleweight Title Picture As A Heel. After a successful defense of his MLW Middleweight Title, Lince Dorado was ambushed by Lio Rush. Rush then stole Dorado’s championship and proceeded to leave with it. This appears to be the start of a program between the two now that Rush is back in MLW.

The night was filled with great matches, and the start of some interesting angles. Be sure to tune in and catch all the action on MLW’s new show Underground Wrestling, premiering February 7th on Reelz, starting at 10PM EST! As well as new weekly episodes of MLW’s Fusion airing on PWTV.
