Welcome back or welcome to my experience at ICW NHB and Rise! Day 2 was a full day of action. I’m not entirely sure if I have missed any matches here so before we get started I just want to apologise if I have as I was struggling with some back issues.

Day 2: Rise Violence Party

Nathan Black calls out Big Fn Joe. Whilst I’ve not had the full opportunity to watch all of the Rise shows and be up to date yet I could tell that Nathan wasn’t too popular with the crowd. Here he took the opportunity to call out Big Fn Joe and I believe this is for the next show.

Ellis I believe was standing on the steps and yelled out to Nathan which only infuriated him more. Nathan and Ellis had a match that turned into a beatdown. Nathan clearly sending a message to Big Fn Joe via this match.

Nina Samuels open challenge answered by Session Moth.

This match was a last minute announcement and I believe this was my first Nina Samuels match too. There was a lot of first times for me this weekend. Nina is an absolute goddess in the ring and this was a great example of what British wrestling has to offer. When this goes up on either IWTV or on Patreon you should definitely go out of your way to watch this. For those looking for a not so violent match this is one to watch!

Ba Rose vs Casanova Valentine

This match was full of violence and full of fun. This has some thumbtack bats involved as well as some wooden panes etc. This match also shows throughout to those that doubt them that deathmatch wrestlers can wrestle. There was a guitar spot which was perhaps the most unpredictable thing I’ve seen all weekend and a fair amount of barbed wire. This was a great match. They went outside for a portion of the match and I can’t wait to see this.

Akira and Clint were meant to have tag team match BTT got involved. Clint and Akira walked down to the ring and challenged any tag team in the back to a match and out came Big Lou Nixon and a fan of BTT. They both took out Akira and Clint and started a beat down before Issac North came to the rescue. Big Lou Nixon sent the fan of BTT as a sacrifice and then there was a stand off between Issac North and Big Lou Nixon before Issac sprayed Big Lou Nixon with some black mist. I’m hoping that there is a match between them two. I can’t wait to see them go head to head.

Danny Demanto vs Kasey Kirk

I was extremely excited when this got announced as I’ve seen them go head to head before and I had a feeling that it would be great to watch again. Danny started this match off with talking and a proposition for Kasey but it’s safe to say that she did not accept that at all. This is a great back and forth match and I really enjoyed watching this. I was sitting quite close for this one as my back had started to give out quite early on Saturday.

Big Fn Joe, Michael Caden and Danny Darko vs John Wayne Murdoch, Brandon Kirk and Eric Ryan

Deathmatch outlaws takes on some of ICW’s finest there was quite the amount of cheering for the deathmatch outlaws. John Wayne Murdoch, Brandon Kirk and Eric Ryan didn’t take too kindly to that. This was a can’t miss action match and I’m looking forward to watching this one back.

Leonardo Darwin comes out with Big Lou Nixon. I immediately started quietly cheering as the rest of the crowd booed loudly. Darwin got Nixon to get Carl into the ring and tried to force him to apologise with some music playing as he did it. Carl eventually gave in and apologised but not before Darwin made the match official anyways.

Leonardo Darwin vs Carl Barma

The bell rings and ref shiny shoes tries to get Darwin to stop using the ropes but he soon backs away. Darwin starts to beat Carl using various different methods before a person wearing a mask walked down to the ring. This distracted Darwin as he thought it was Danny O Doherty but little did he know that Danny had entered the ring and had I believe brass knuckles as he turned around he got hit. This was a great match. I still need to do a little research to get the full understanding of Darwin vs Danny. I’ve recently subscribed to their patreon and I look to find out a little more and catch up with Rise shows.

Jack Harrop vs Iceman

I did not see much of this match due to various issues with my back and a few other little things but from the things I did see this turned quite bloody very quickly. I am very much looking forward to watching this back and seeing all the chaos and violence that went down throughout this match. I hope to see more of both of these wrestlers more in 2023.

My social anxiety started to play up but Gabby helped me meet Clint after this show. After this show we had about a 30 minute break before the next show.

ICW NHB 42

Big Lou Nixon vs Akira kicked off this show. This was another banger of a match. I love that Nixon’s signature weapon seems to be a light tube nunchuck. The blood spilled quite early in this match. This is as violent as you would expect it to be.

Ba Rose vs Danny Darko

This was a great match between two wrestlers and it got quite violent quite quickly lots of blood flow. I loved the saw (of sorts) as this was quite unique and I’ve not seen this used before. Danny is one insane wrestler jumping from a platform onto Ba Rose. I hope to see them run it back at some point.

Eric Ryan vs Kasey Kirk

I know I’m probably super biased here but Kasey is one of my absolute favourites and a huge inspiration for me. This match had a fair amount of light tubes in it and Eric Ryan has some of the most brutal stomps I’ve seen around.

Michael Caden vs Casanova Valentine

Casanova Valentine is quite popular to the UK crowds and so is Michael Caden. There was use of gusset plates and a syringe used in this match. This was one of the most insane things I’ve seen throughout that weekend specially as the syringe went in the tongue. I hope that Casanova does come back at some point soon and I hope that I get to see Michael Caden wrestle some more in 2023.

Danny Demanto vs Session Moth Martina

This was the perfect mixture of comedy and brutality. A beer kendo stick is definitely a weapon I’ve not seen before but yet entertained us all. Session Moth is a workhorse and I really enjoyed this match from start to finish.

John Wayne Murdoch vs Big Fn Joe

This was a match I wasn’t expecting. JWM was not playing any games as he had picked up a light tube sword and within seconds that was smashed. You’ll notice a common theme with light tubes and it was at around this match I started to get used to the explosions of the light tubes. I do believe there was some razor wire in this match but I couldn’t see the entire ring. This was a hard hitting back and forth match.

Brandon Kirk vs Clint Margera

Before the match began there were some very loud Danny Havoc chants. This match meant a lot to everyone involved in it. This was for both the championships that Brandon Kirk holds. There was quite a lot of emotion heading into that match and it was definitely felt around the room too. A violent spectacle to say the least. Deathmatch is art.

Final thoughts:

These two shows were extremely intense for me and I loved every second of both of these. The time that you are reading this I’m starting to do more research on Rise and I started with Outlaw Cup 2021. I hope that you will join me in reading these.

You can watch these events on IWTV beginning tonight with NHB 41.
