CCW presented “Dead Zone” on April 15th in Houston, DE. It is currently available On Demand on the Titlematch Network.
All of the belts are on the line, as KiLynn King will be defending her CCW Title and the CCW Network Title in a 4-way match and Billie Starkz will be defending her CCW Global Fighting Title throughout the Battle of the Thrones Tournament. We also have Christina Marie waiting in the background, as she can challenge for the CCW Title at any time, since she won the Capital Battle.
First Round Battle of the Throne Match: Notorious Mimi vs Ray Lyn
Mimi and Ray Lyn start off very even early and each seems to be able to counter each other’s moves. Mimi gets the advantage with a submission hold. Ray gets to the ropes, but Mimi keeps the pressure on with chops, a leg drop and a low drop kick. Ray takes control of the match back with some kicks, a leg sweep and double knees. Mimi halts Ray’s momentum with a face buster and cross body off the ropes. Mimi hits Ray with a pop-up punch and a Samoan Drop, but Ray Lyn keeps kicking out. They jockey for position and Ray Lyn is able to hit a head kick for the win.
Next we see highlights of the first round matches that happened at previous CCW events. Janai Kai defeated Vita VonStarr to advance. B3CCA defeated Brittney Blake in her first-round match, which leads to our next match up.
Second Round Battle of the Throne Match: Janai Kai vs B3CCA
Kai gets the advantage when she takes down B3CCA and lays one of her vicious kicks into her, but B3CCA kicks out of the pin attempt and quickly hits Kai with a dropkick to take control. B3CCA hits a bulldog and double knees, but Kai kicks out of the pin and they end up exchanging strikes in the middle of the ring. They hit each other with clotheslines, and they are both down. B3CCA misses a stomp from the top rope and pays for it in the form of some kicks from the kick demon. B3CCA catches one of Kai’s kicks, then transitions into a backslide and floats over Kai for the pin and gets the 3 count. This was a great match and Kai showed B3CCA respect after the match.
We see highlights from Heather Reckless and Lady Frost, where Heather is able to get the victory and a hard-fought battle between Billie Starkz and Rebecca Scott where Billie was able to end Scott’s winning streak and capture the Global Fighting Championship, which leads us to the next match.
Second Round Battle of the Throne Match for the CCW Global Fighting Championship: Heather Reckless vs Billie Starkz (c)
Heather takes Billie down with an armdrag and then cartwheels into a dropkick. Billie avoids Heather in the corner, but Heather regroups and hits Billie with a back elbow in the corner. Heather hits Billie with a nasty face wash. She then goes to the middle rope, but Billie takes her legs out from under her and stomps Heather in the corner.
Heather gets some chops in, but Billie throws her into the turnbuckles and takes Heather down to the mat. They battle in the corner and Heather hits a suplex. She then hits Billie with some strikes and a combination ending in a stunner and a near fall. Billie hits Heather with a kick to the head and drops her headfirst on her knee. Billie tries to sling shot Heather, but Heather comes off the middle rope and hits Billie with a cross body. Heather goes back up top and hits a moonsault, but whenever Heather went for the pin, Billie reversed it and got the 3 count for the win.
Second Round Battle of the Throne Match: Delmi Exo vs Ray Lyn
Delmi walks into this match with all the confidence as she is the self-proclaimed “God Queen” and she is much fresher than Ray Lyn, who has already wrestled a match. The match starts off quickly with Ray Lyn getting the early advantage hitting a running knee in the corner and a rana off the ropes. Delmi hits Ray Lyn with a nice stalling suplex but takes a little too much time trash talking the crowd. Delmi lays into Ray Lyn in the corner, then hits her with double knees.
Ray Lyn fights back and hits a running uppercut in the corner. Delmi quickly takes the advantage back and tries to use her power to slow down the match. Delmi picks Ray Lyn up but Ray Lyn slips out and gets Delmi in a figure-four. They exchange strikes in the figure-four position and Delmi hits a suplex. She gets Ray Lyn in an electric chair position, but Ray Lyn gets out of it and quickly hits Delmi with a spin kick to the head for the win. The finals of the tournament will be Billie Starks vs B3CCA vs Ray Lyn. The other two wrestlers will have the advantage in the finals as Ray Lyn has had to win 2 matches to get to the finals.
CCW Championship and CCW Network Championship Match: Miyu Yamashita vs Killer Kelly vs Steph De Lander vs Kilynn King (c)
Miyu Yamashita and Steph De Lander start the match. Miyu lays some quick kicks into De Lander, who quickly tags in Killer Kelly. Kelly takes Miyu to the mat, but Miyu gets out and they lock up. Miyu takes Kelly down, but Kelly gets out, locks in a crevant and lays in some nasty kicks. Miyu then hits Kelly with a penalty kick. Miyu continues with the hard kicks until King tags herself in and goes after Miyu.
When Miyu ends up on the apron, King hits her with a flying knee. She goes to continue the attack, but De Lander tags herself in. De Lander takes King over the ropes to the outside and all 3 other combatants go after De Lander on the outside. De Lander sneaks away and King slams Kelly spine first onto the apron. King is then caught with a kick from Miyu, who ricocheted off of the apron. De Lander gets Miyu in the electric chair position and drops her on the apron. She tries to pin Miyu, but only gets a couple of two counts.
De Lander then slows down the match. Miyu kicks her in the head but as soon as she goes for the pin she is attacked by Kelly and King. Miyu hits King with a kick off of the corner but De Lander puts her on the turnbuckle and gives her a boot. King takes out De Lander while she is trash talking the fans. The other three battle on the turnbuckle. King gives the other two a suplex from the spider position and as all three are down De Lander goes for the pin, but first tries to pin the two opponents that are not legal.
She finally gets to Miyu, but Miyu kicks out at two. De Lander squashes Miyu in the corner, but King makes the blind tag and hits De Lander with a flying dropkick. King takes De Lander down, but gets attacked by Kelly. Then she gets hit with a suplex from Miyu. Miyu misses her kick and gets hit with a kick from King and they exchange pinfall attempts. Miyu hits King with a skull kick for the win to become the new double champion.
As King is leaving the ringside area, Christina Marie comes to the ring with the microphone. Marie says that since she won the battle royal she can challenge for the Capital Championship at any time. She challenges Miyu to a match for both belts.
CCW Championship and CCW Network Championship Match: Christina Marie vs Miyu Yamashita (c)
Miyu opens up with some kicks. She whips Marie into the corner, kicks her in the head and hits her with a suplex. Miyu goes for the skull kick, but Marie pulls the ref in front of her. As the ref’s back is turned Marie put on some brass knucks and hits Miyu with them. Christina Marie quickly goes for the pin and gets the three count on Miyu, winning both of the championships.
Battle of the Throne Finals for the CCW Global Fighting Championship: Ray Lyn vs Billie Starkz (c) vs B3CCA
Billie takes down both of her opponents and hits both in the corner, but B3CCA moves on the second attempt and Billie hits the ring post. B3CCA then turns her attention to Ray Lyn and hits her with a cannonball off the apron. Ray Lyn then answers with a dive of her own and all three end up fighting on the outside. When they get back in the ring Billie and Ray Lyn exchange strikes, but both get hit with a dropkick from B3CCA. All three lay into each other with strikes in the middle of the ring and they all have the same idea, giving each other kicks to the head.
B3CCA is the first one up and splashes each opponent in the corners. Ray Lyn catches her on her second attempt and gives B3CCA the RayCrayO and then gives one to Billie too. Ray Lyn goes for the pin on each opponent, but they both kick out. B3CCA hits Ray Lyn with an F5, then goes to the top, but Ray Lyn meets her there. Billie powerbombs both of them and ends up in a pinning position on Ray Lyn. Billie gets the three count and she wins the tournament and retains her Global Fighting Championship.
Someone comes out to the ring in Billie’s bunny head to hand her the tournament trophy. The bunny does not give up the trophy but instead hits Billie with it. She takes off the bunny head and it is Rebecca Scott. Scott goes under the ring and gets a kendo stick. Ref Nick Shin tries to take it and is met with multiple strikes from the stick. She then takes out all of the security that tried to stop the situation and stands in the middle of the ring with the Global Fighting Championship.

A lot happened on this show. We had multiple rounds of the Battle of the Throne tournament, with Ray Lyn having three matches against very tough opponents. Billie Starkz defended her Global Fighting Championship throughout the tournament and retained it. Rebecca Scott then made it known that she is not done with Billie and wants the title that she holds dear back. Miyu Yamashita was very impressive in the 4-way match to win the CCW Championship, but was quickly met with the challenge of Christina Marie. Christina Marie has proven that she will do whatever it takes to win, especially when that means collecting championships.
