We open the show with Joe Dombrowski giving the history of the Opera Cup. The first match of the first bracket begins tonight. We then go into the intro music for the show.

The Announce Team is Joe Dombrowski and Matt Striker. Dombrowski tells us we will find out later, who made the top ten rankings in MLW. We are shown a clip after Never Say Never goes off the air. There is a moment of some words between Alex Kane and Willie Mack, as Bomaye Fight Club continued to celebrate in the ring. We are then shown clip of last week, when Mack won the Triple Threat # 1 Contender’s Match. Their match for the MLW Championship is scheduled as the main event for MLW Fury Road on September 3rd.

In the ring, announcer Mike Falvo introduces B3CCA first in the opening contest. She comes out singing. We are shown clip of fan at Never Say Never rushing the ramp after her performance. Next her opponent, Billie Starkz is introduced.

 

Billie Starkz vs B3CCA:

The match begins with a shake of hands. Both competitors try to gain the upper hand without any success. Starkz eventually takes advantage by performing a suicide dive onto B3CCA outside the ring. Starkz rolls B3CCA back in the ring. Starkz goes to top rope but misses and tweaks her leg on the roll after missing. B3CCA takes advantage and hits Starkz with a big boot and gets a two count. We go to a break.

We get commercial for Fury Road. Back from break, B3CCA is controlling most of the action. She hits Starkz with a big drop kick from the second rope for another two count.

Across the bottom of screen we are given the top ten currently ranked fighters in MLW:

  5. Davey Boy Smith Jr
  6. Akira
  7. Tracy Williams
  8. Mance Warner

Back to action in the ring, B3CCA is working over Starkz’s injured leg. Starkz makes a comeback by hitting her with a forearm. They now begin to trade forearms. Starkz gets the better of the exchange, however, B3CCA comes back with another big boot to Starkz. B3CCA goes for step up enziguri but misses. Back and forth we go.

B3CCA hits a TKO on Starkz for near fall. Now with Starkz in the corner, B3CCA hits another big boot. She takes Starkz up on the turnbuckle, but Starkz counters and drops her. Starkz then hits a swanton on B3CCA for the three count to pick up the win. We are shown replay clips from match we just saw.

Result: Billie Starkz defeats B3CCA via pinfall.

 

One of the Calling’s Gas Masked Henchmen gives Starkz a gift in a box. It’s a brain of some sorts that freaks Billie out. Next, we are shown previous three draft picks. Now the fourth one is announced, it is Love, Doug. It’s announced he was the one that interrupted B3CCA’s performance at Never Say Never.

Sam Laterna interviews Love, Doug. He professes his love for B3CCA. We are then shown clips from weeks ago, when Mister Saint Laurent joined forces with Davey Boy Smith, Jr. Sam Laterna catches up with MSL. She asks how he sleeps at night with what he did to Microman? He said he sleeps just fine and how DBS is going to be victorious in his opening match in the Opera Cup. He said he hopes he never sees Microman again. Microman attacks MSL, and as MSL is about to hit him, Mance Warner comes in and lays out MSL. Warner said Microman is with the SGC and that makes him family. And MSL should not mess with their family. We then go to a break.

Back from the break, we are given the history and story of the opera cup again. Davey Boy Smith Jr brought it to MLW back in 2019. We then go to Calvin Tankman who cuts a promo on DBS. He said he’s been waiting a whole 365 days for this opportunity.

We are shown a replay clip of MSL getting laid out by Warner. We are told he is being examine by the head doctor outside his room. Dombrowski asks the question will he be able to accompany DBS on his match tonight? Dombroswki plugs betonline.ag.

We are again shown Willie Mack’s win last week. The Main Event of Kane vs Mack for the MLW World Championship was announced again for Fury Road. We are shown the clip from Never Say Never when Willie Mack comes down to celebrate Alex Kane winning his title, however, Kane doesn’t welcome him in the ring.

We get a video of Alex Kane with Mr Thomas in the back. Kane cuts a promo with Mr. Thomas ragging and insulting Mack on his weight. He said he was turned away from the BFC celebration, because he’s not worthy to be with them! He said when he beats Mack’s ass, that’s “Bomaye” as he ends segment. The main event is hyped by Dombroswki as we go into a break.

Now back, Dombroswki goes through previous wrestling legends who have won the Opera Cup before. We go to ring announcer Mike Falvo who introduces our main event. Calvin Tankman is introduced first. Next is Davey Boy Smith Jr.

 

Opera Cup Match – Davey Boy Smith Jr vs Calvin Tankman:

Another match that starts with the two competitors shaking hands. Both go to tie each other up and jocking for position. This has been the story for beginning of the match.

Smith goes for boot in corner but Tankman moves out of the way and Smith’s leg gets caught on top rope. Tankman chop blocks the leg. Now outside the ring on the ramp, Tankman is working Smith’s leg.

Tracy Williams vs Tony Dippen is promoted for next week as the other bracket match of the Opera Cup.

Back in the ring, Tankman is still working the leg. We go to break with Tankman in total control.

Back from break Tankman is still in control. Smith sees a small opening and window of opportunity, he grabs Tankman’s leg and does ankle lock, however, Tankman makes it to the ropes. That was a brief moment of offense for Smith, until Tankman clotheslines Smith to take control again.

Smith makes a comeback hitting forearms to Tankman and then a step up enziguri. Smith goes to top rope, however, Tankman stops him and throws him. Tankman goes off the rope but Smith counters him and hits a power slam. Smith goes back to the top rope again and hits a flying head butt and then a leg drop from the top rope on Tankman for two count. Tankman hits Smith with a spinning elbow, but when he goes to pick Smith up in the air, Smith counters it to a cross face arm bar. Tankman submits to Smith Jr.

Result: Davey Boy Smith Jr defeats Calvin Tankman via submission.

 

We are shown replay clips of match. DBS bows to crowd in the ring. This match was taped before Smith turned full heel and aligning himself with MSL. He then heads up the ramp and embraces the Opera Cup on the top of ramp.

As we are going off the air, the Calling comes up on the screen and Rickey Shane Page talks about his 22 year long journey to get to this point. He cuts a promo on Jacob Fatu, as we close the show.
