This week’s episode of Fusion started with a video package on the history of the Opera Cup and how the finalist for this year’s tournament got here. From there, we go into the intro and music for the show. This week’s announce team is Joe Dombrowski and Matt Striker.

Participants for the opening match are introduced. First MLW Openweight Champion  Jacob Fatu comes out. Next Rickey Shane Page is introduced and comes out with Raven, Gas Mask Henchmen, and Mandy Leon.

MLW National Openweight Championship – Jacob Fatu (c) vs. Rickey Shane Page:

Once RSP got to ringside, Fatu hit him with a suicide dive, and the match began. While not advertised as a No DQ match, plenty of weapons made their way into the match that the ref let go. Chairs were the primary weapon used in the match; however, there were other significant spots where Fatu and Page used different weapons.

Page took a spike and jabbed the bare foot of Fatu and then stuck it in Fatu’s mouth. Page bit Fatu’s foot, which caused the crowd to chant, “You sick fu*k.”

Later in the match, Fatu returned to ringside, then pulled out a table to slide into the ring. Page caught Fatu with an enzuigiri sending him out to the floor at ringside. Page set up the table in the ring and went after Fatu. Page hit a chair shot to Fatu’s head. With Fatu laid out on the table, Page went to the top rope and hit a senton, putting Fatu through the table for a two count.

The fight ended at ringside, where Fatu took several chair shots but continued fighting. Fatu shoved the referee. Page threw punches at Fatu, and then he pushed the referee. In a match that was a No DQ match, the ref disqualified both men when he lost control of the action after both competitors shoved him.

The brawl continued as staff came to break it up as they continued to fight to the back. The match was good, and clearly, this is not the end of their feud; however, my only complaint was it should have been a No DQ match from the start.

Result: Jacob Fatu & Rickey Shane Page ends in a double DQ.

Next, Sam Laterna is with Tracy Williams in a backstage interview. He spoke about Davey Boy Smith Jr and winning the Opera Cup.

Dombrowski is in the MLW Fury Road control center and gave an update on a match added. Jacob Fatu vs. Rickey Shane Page in a Weapon of Mass Destruction match for the MLW National Openweight Championship

Matt Cardona delivers a video promo while in his pool about his match against Mance Warner.

Dombrowski stated that MLW would have a special announcement on next week’s show as we prepare for our next match. Paris Van Dale made her entrance. Then we go Backstage, where Delmi Exo tries to talk about her upcoming title match, but B3CCA interrupts her. B3CCA said Exo should be defending her title against her. Exo said she runs the featherweight division, and they can talk once B3CCA starts having matches instead of following this delusional fantasy that she is a pop star.

MLW Featherweight Championship – Delmi Exo (c) vs. Paris Van Dale:

Van Dale had her moments in this match; however, Exo proved too much for Van Dale. Exo hits a Delmi Driver to pick up the three-count for the win to retain her title.

Result: Delmi Exo defeats Paris Van Dale via pinfall.

After the match, B3CCA came out and attacked Exo from behind and hit her with a guitar. She then picked up the title belt and posed with it while standing over Exo.

Next, MLW Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane delivers a promo with Mr. Thomas. Kane talks down about Willie Mack. Kane said he needed a warmup match to be somewhere warm and toasty. Kane said he is returning to Mexico in a promo that aired on a previous MLW Fusion. His match with Delirious in Mexico has already aired on a different Fusion episode.

It’s main event time as both participants in the Opera Cup Finals are announced.

Opera Cup Finals – Tracy Williams vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. (w/Mister Saint Laurent):

Williams targets the left knee of Smith and, later in the match, completes a back slide for a two-count. Williams performs a suplex and then a running clothesline. Williams gets Smith into a crucifix pin for a near fall.

Smith makes a comeback with a suplex. Smith later performs a Bulldog Powerslam for a two-count when Williams puts his foot over the bottom rope to break up the count. Williams took Smith down to the canvas with an ankle lock. Smith contemplates tapping, however, then rolls out of it.

There appears to be a mix-up with the finish when Smith hits Williams with a powerbomb. Williams didn’t kick out; however, the referee stopped counting. Smith then went into a cross-face and got Williams to submit.

Results: Davey Boy Smith Jr defeats Tracy Williams to win his second Opera Cup.

After the match, the referee presented Smith with the Opera Cup as he held it up and to a bow.

Dombrowski hypes major announcement for next week, as well as Willie Mack in a scramble match.

Sam Laterna tries to interview Smith. MSL took over the promo and said the only thing that would have made this victory sweeter is if they had done it in Calgary or England instead of a shit hole like Philadelphia. Smith taunted the crowd and labeled himself wrestling royalty. Smith claims he’s the next MLW Heavyweight Champion as we go off the air.
