Dreamwave had its first ever all-women’s event, “Uprising”, this past week. It was a very successful show, as it had amazing matches from some of the best young female wrestlers, and also had a sell out crowd. Off of the success of that show, Dreamwave has announced the start of an all-women’s promotion, Uprising: Women Athletes. The promotion will be based out of LaSalle, Illinois.

There will be 3 events in 2024, with plans to expand in 2025. The dates for the 2024 shows will be April 19th for Uprising Women Athletes 2, August 2nd for Uprising Women Athletes 3, and December 6th for Uprising Women Athletes 4. These will all be on the same weekends of Dreamwave events.

The Dreamwave Women’s Championship will be defended on both Uprising and Dreamwave shows. The current champion is Brittnie Brooks.

As you can imagine, the female members of the Dreamwave roster were very excited about the announcement. The women’s champion, Brittnie Brooks said, “this is going to re-define all-women’s wrestling. I am so honored and blessed to be apart of something so so special. Dreamwave is the place to be. Thank you all for supporting us.”

One of the other top names of Dreamwave Wrestling, Zayda Steel said, “Seriously the best company I’ve worked for. Jay is always looking to build and showcase women’s wrestling like no other, this is amazing!!”

I have watched wrestling all of my life, from WWF and NWA to ECW and then indie shows. I have been steadily going to independent wrestling shows since 2002.
