Following Marcus Mathers’ huge win at last night’s Beyond Wrestling’s Heavy Lies The Crown event on New Year’s Eve, AEW star Nick Wayne took to Twitter to congratulate the newly crown champ, and answer a challenge that was laid out days before.
“Congratulations @MarcusMathers1. Also, I know the anniversary of @defyNW is coming up soon…Challenge Accepted.”
The challenge was laid out by Marcus Mathers at DEFY Wrestling’s “Blueprint” event on Sunday December 29th. “The Young Prodigy” called out the third generation wrestler, following a victory in his debut match at the Seattle based promotion. Mathers’ called out what he considers “the Ace of DEFY”.
DEFY will hold their 8th anniversary event “HUNDREDTH” on February 7th at Washington Hall in Seattle, Washington. Already announced for the huge event is Joey Janela vs Paul Walter Hauser in a street fight, as well as KENTA defending the DEFY World Championship against Ricky Starks.
