On Saturday, May 2nd, Blitzkrieg! Pro returned to the East Mountain Country Club in Westfield, MA, for it’s event, “It Was Never Just A Phase.” The event aired on IWTV and is now available to watch on Blitzkrieg! Pro VOD Channel on IWTV.
The main event of the show saw Charles Mason put his Blitzkrieg! Pro Bedlam Championship on the line against Javi in what was an instant-classic of a main event.
We also saw an all-female scramble match featuring Notorious Mimi, Mylo, Amity LaVey, Nikki Winters, and Corinne Joy. Also, Sammy Diaz battled Devious Cass in a match-of-the-year candidate to kick off the action, Ancestral City Shooters put their Blitzkrieg! Pro Tag Team Championships on the line against Dolphin Funeral in a two-out-of-three falls match, B3CCA and TJ Crawford’s rivalry come to a head as the two met in a grudge match, and so much more. Check out the full recap and review down below.

Sammy Diaz def. Devious Cass
In the opening match of the night, we saw “Top Five Dead or Alive,” Sammy Diaz go one-on-one with one of the top, young, up-and-coming talents on the whole independent scene today, Devious Cass. From the first bell to the last, this match absolutely ruled. Diaz was the clear-cut babyface of the match from the very beginning, as the Blitzkrieg! Pro faithful was in the palm of his hands. The crowd even chanted “sparkly pants” at Cass to get under his skin. However, the crowd would be singing a different tune by the end of the match.
The chemistry between these two men was spot on. They were equally agile and equally skilled in many aspects of wrestling. The only difference was the experience factor, to which Diaz had quite a few years over the much younger Cass. But don’t let that fool you, Cass was still fantastic in this one and held his own. Early on in this match, Diaz extended his hand for a handshake, trying to show his opponent some respect, to which Cass declined.
Ultimately, Diaz puts Cass away with the cradle shock after a match that was 100 miles per hour from the opening bell. Both men got a standing ovation (rightfully so) after the match ended. After the match, the two men shook hands and embraced. This was an absolutely amazing opening match. One of the best matches of the year, out of any promotion. Get ready to learn the names of “Sammy Diaz” and “Devious Cass.” Both are going to do great things in this crazy world of independent wrestling.
Jensen Championship: Azure (c) def. Ash Bennett & 50 Cal to retain the Jensen Championship
I truly felt bad for any match that had to follow that absolute masterpiece to start the show. However, if anyone could do it, it’s this new, improved, and…weirder… Azure. He hosted an Open Challenge, which was answered by 50 Cal. Just as it looked like it was going to be a singles match, Ash Bennett also made his way down to the ring, making this a three-way. Azure made his way to the ring, continuing to be, as the fans called him, “weird.” However, I absolutely love this new size of Azure. His happy-go-lucky side is gone, and whatever we see now is much darker and much scarier.
It’s always a treat to see Ash Bennett & 50 Cal on my screen (or in person). Two of the most underrated wrestlers on Blitzkrieg! Pro who don’t always get the recognition they deserve. I respect both Bennett & 50 Cal for trying, but neither had an answer for Azure. In the end, 50 Cal hits a jackhammer on Bennett and seemingly has the match won, but Azure breaks it up and puts 50 Cal away with his finisher, and simultaneously pins both men to retain his title. I LOVEEEEE this new version of Azure. What a fantastic character change.

#1 Contenders Match for the Jensen Championship: Angelo Carter vs. Perry Von Vicious ends in a no-contest when Azure gets involved
Next up, we saw the new #1 Contender crowned for the Jensen Championship, which was just retained by Azure. Azure stood in the front row and sat next to some fans to watch this match, which I loved. It was a great little nugget in the story of the creepiness and weirdness of Azure. Angelo Carter and the former champion, Perry Von Vicious, battled it out for a shot at the Jensen Championship at this year’s Luau event in June.
Angelo Carter is so hot right now, and the crowd absolutely loves everything about him. He’s doing everything right, which I love to see, as someone who has seen Carter grow from the “Diamond Dragon” to the “Money Dragon.” Perry Von Vicious is another one of the greats who are in Blitzkrieg! Pro. It cannot be understated how important PVV is to the promotion. The two men started things off with a handshake before going at it. This was a fairly short match that ended with Azure hitting both men with his crowbar. So, he gets both at the 8th annual Luau event, which is sure to be a fantastic match.

All-Fem Scramble Match: Notorious Mimi def. Mylo, Amity LaVey, Nikki Winters, & Corinne Joy
Up next, we saw the all-female scramble match, featuring Notorious Mimi, Mylo, Amity LaVey, Nikki Winters, & Corinne Joy. If you’re a fan of women’s professional wrestling, this match is truly a must-watch match. All five women showed up and showed out in this one. Next to Sammy Diaz & Devious Cass, this was one of my absolutely favorite matches on this whole show. I mean, let’s just look at the run down of the names in this star-studded match.
Notorious Mimi is a legend in the northeast. She is currently a WWE ID prospect and has just improved so much since I first saw her. Then you have Mylo, who’s a star on the west coast, and she was able to showcase her talents on the east coast in this one in front of a brand new fanbase. Spoiler alert: the fans absolutely loved her, but that’s not a surprise. Then you have Amity LaVey. LaVey is someone whom I’ve had the absolute pleasure of kind of growing up with here on Long Island. I remember seeing her in another promotion when she first started and began making a name for herself. Since then, we have seen her evolve into something just otherworldly. She’s been getting booked all over and for good reason. She truly deserves it. One of the hardest workers out there. We also saw Nikki Winters. Winters is someone with whom I wasn’t very familiar coming into this one, but I’m now a forever fan of hers. She’s a powerhouse. She’s bold, brash, cocky, and just a testament to how amazing a school T2T in Brooklyn, New York, is. So many future stars are coming out of that place. Names like Charles Stunning, Kalypto, and Winters are poised to take over the independent scene for women, with many incredible men’s talents climbing the ranks at T2T, too. Last but not least, Corinne Joy. Corinne Joy may be one of the most spontaneous names I’ve seen burst onto the independent scene in a long time. She’s been booked all over, and for good reason. She’s just 18-years old, and is already so good. She’s going to be special, mark my words.
As for the match itself. It absolutely was a banger. There were so many fun and memorable spots in this one that I loved. I was a big fan of Amity LaVey and Nikki Winters teaming up against Mimi, Mylo, and Corinne Joy. I think Blitzkrieg! Pro could be onto something with LaVey and Nikki Winters. Now, let’s get Sammi Chaos in here, too. That fearsome trio could run things at Blitzkrieg! Pro. Also, Mimi and Corinne Joy landing a kick up and helping Mylo to land hers was fun. What made that spot funny, too, was LaVey and Nikki watching from the outside like “bro, what are you guys clapping for” towards the fans. Typical mean girl stuff. I loved it. Mylo hit a tope suicida on everyone on the outside. Also, a nice touch having LaVey literally try to kill Winters by putting a bag over her head. Very on par for LaVey’s crazy demon type of self. Perhaps the best spot was Mimi picking up Corinne Joy and Amity LaVey for a double samoan drop, showcasing her incredible power. The match ended when Mimi broke up Mylo’s crossface-type of finisher on LaVey and hit her with a finisher of her own to win the match. LaVey chasing Mimi to the back, screaming, was a fantastic touch. Seriously, if you want to have a good match, book any of these women on your show, even those who weren’t in this match, like Charles Stunning and Kalypto from T2T. Women’s wrestling rules. If you’re a promoter who has one woman booked on your show in some sort of intergender match, you’re doing it wrong. Way too much talent on the scene today for just one women’s match a show. Support women’s wrestlers. Support women’s wrestling.

Bobby Orlando & The Headbangers (Mosh & Thrasher) def. Andy Brown & East Coast Bastard Crew (Leary & Logan Black)
As I said about the second match, I felt bad for any match that had to follow the match before it. This was a fun trios match between Bobby Orlando & the legendary tag team, The Headbangers, against Andy Brown and the East Coast Bastard Crew’s Leary & Logan Black. It was a blast to see Mosh and Thrasher back at it on their retirement tour. This wasn’t a five-star technical match by any means, but this may have been one of the most fun matches to be in the crowd live for.
The fans were losing their mind for referee Gina, who wasn’t even refereeing this match. However, one of the Headbangers went to get her from the back. It’s also one of my new favorite pastimes to see Andy Brown fighting with the fans. That’s the type of fans that Blitzkrieg! Pro has though, they make a moment out of anything, and it’s beautiful. I can truthfully say I’ve never seen fans hijack a show and get a referee kicked off a match for a referee they like more and then start a “Holy Sh*t” chant. Absolutely bonkers in the greatest way possible.
While it wasn’t really their style, it was still a treat seeing East Coast Bastard Crew and Andy Brown in this much less serious type of match. I cannot speak about how important Leary and Logan Black are enough. Leary is one of the founders of Blitzkrieg! Pro, and Logan Black is a head trainer at T2T. Andy Brown is still a blast to watch, and that’s something that will never change. Bobby Orlando is a national treasure, and this whole match was just a crazy blast. Leary’s poor nipples in this one got twisted multiple times by The Headbangers. Never thought I’d say that sentence. Also, sidenote, shoutout to Leary’s gear in this one. A beautiful tribute to Jeff Cannonball. In the end, Orlando hit an elbow drop on Black and pinned him to win the match. This was a fun one.

If CPA loses, he won’t compete on this year’s Luau: Oxx Adams def. CPA
Next up, we saw CPA, a mainstay at Blitzkrieg! Pro, battle Oxx Adams with a spot at the 8th annual Luau event on the line. If CPA loses this one, he won’t get to compete on this year’s Luau show. CPA has been one of the most beloved stars at Blitzkrieg! Pro, and the fans still absolutely adore him, even if his past year has not been one of his best. He lost his Blitzkrieg! Pro Bedlam Championship, and has been on quite a losing streak. His road didn’t get any easier as he had to battle a monstrous Oxx Adams. This was the first taste of Adams in singles competition against CPA in a “David vs. Goliath” match.
CPA tried to take the fight to the much bigger opponent. Adams has been on a tear lately on the independent scene. He is an absolute giant and is undoubtedly going to be the next to breakout at Blitzkrieg! Pro. CPA hit a numbers cruncher on Adams for an insane moment in this match, for just a two-count. However, despite coming close, CPA wasn’t able to defeat Adams, as Adams knocked CPA off with a derailer. Adams has officially entered the fray at Blitzkrieg! Pro, and has a high ceiling in the promotion, with a potential Bedlam Championship run down the line.

Blitzkrieg! Pro Tag Team Championships 2-out-of-3 Falls Match: Ancestral City Shooters (Joseph Alexander & Kwesi Asante) (c) def. Dolphin Funeral (JuleZee & Rullo) to retain the Blitzkrieg! Pro Tag Team Championship
Up next, we saw the Ancestral City Shooters, Joseph Alexander & Kwesi Asante, put their Blitzkrieg! Pro Tag Team Championships on the line against Dolphin Funeral’s JuleZee & Rullo. This wasn’t just any match; this was a two-out-of-three falls match. Two of the very best tag teams that Blitzkrieg! Pro has ever seen was in this match, and it was awesome. Fans were not disappointed. This also marked the Ancestral City Shooters’ first-ever defense of the Blitzkrieg! Pro Tag Team Championships. Rullo & JuleZee couldn’t be more different, but they have chemistry like very few other tag teams. The only unfortunate thing for them in this one was that they went up against the team that has chemistry like no other tag team. Alexander and Asante have been on a fantastic run, and they have been killing it.
The match kicked off quickly with strikes raining down between Alexander and JuleZee. Rullo rolled up Alexander for a small package for the first fall, giving Dolphin Funeral a 1-0 lead. After some time, Asante rolled up JuleZee with a crucifix to even the score. Ancestral City Shooters took down Dolphin Funeral when they hit their finisher on JuleZee, and Alexander pinned him for the third and final fall. This match was a terrific tag team match. I cannot say enough good things about both of these teams. Dolphin Funeral has impressed me a ton lately, and has worked together amazingly. The stuff they do is simply incredible. As for the Ancestral City Shooters, they are the top of the mountain, the Blitzkrieg! Pro tag division for a reason. One of the absolute greatest tag teams on the entire independent scene today, and it’s not particularly close. Absolute stars. All four competitors should pat themselves on the back. This one was a barnburner.

B3CCA def. TJ Crawford
While the previous match had respect between the two sides, this match was not going to see the same. B3CCA and TJ Crawford are former Blitzkrieg! Pro Tag Team Champions, and former friends. However, things took a drastic turn when the two dropped the titles. Crawford decided to have a change of heart and go back to his roots and back to what made him the Bedlam Champion back in the day. However, in doing so, he turned on B3CCA and laid her out. This match was about as personal as it came, and fans had very high hopes for this one. Spoiler alert, the two delivered on every front.
With both B3CCA and Crawford in this match, we knew how good it was going to be. We were not disappointed. The stuff Crawford can do with his legs and feet is absolutely lethal. His kicks are some of the absolute best on the independent scene today. Simply devastating. The end of the match saw B3CCA and TJ seemingly make amends, for Crawford to try and sucker her in. However, B3CCA forced TJ to low blow himself with his own arm, and hit a DDT, followed by the Code of Silence to force him to tap out. This was a very fun one featuring two of the vest best of the northeast around today.

Blitzkrieg! Pro Bedlam Championship: Charles Mason (c) def. Javi to retain the Blitzkrieg! Pro Bedlam Championship
The main event of the show saw Charles Mason, accompanied by Andy Brown, put the Blitzkrieg! Pro Bedlam Championship on the line against former WWE NXT wrestler, and someone who’s making a new name for himself on the independent scene today, Javi. I cannot put into words how impressed I have been by Javi. We saw him in NXT as “Big Body Javi” and “Javier Bernal.” However, this is a brand new side of him that we truthfully had no idea existed, since it’s so different and not what we’ve seen on NXT. However, that’s a testament to how hard Javi has worked. He’s a “core kid” through and through and has become a very special talent on the independent scene.
Mason and Javi had a truly excellent match together. This was Javi’s first real Bedlam Championship match, and he gave it everything he had. There are levels to this, and both these men hit all the levels. In the end, Mason put Javi away with a sleeper and retained his title. He once again used help from Brown and is now heading into the Luau as the Bedlam Champion. However, at the conclusion of this match, a MAJOR match was made. Mason will put his Bedlam Championship on the line against Bear Bronson in the main event. This is a dream match coming to life. I’m very excited for this one.
Final Thoughts: This was an amazing show. There wasn’t a bad match on the card. Sure, some matches were better than others, but every match was fun to some extent. The best match by far goes to Sammy Diaz and Devious Cass. They just made absolute magic together. For the second best match, I’d have to go the all-female scramble. I love seeing some of the best women’s wrestlers get their shine. It’s a new age and truly a beautiful thing to see. For the third, I’d have to give it to Mason vs. Javi. They had a killer main event and easily one of Javi’s best matches since leaving WWE. I loved this whole show.
Blitzkrieg! Pro is one of the best promotions out there. They are doing everything the right way. They are true and utter professionals in every sense of the word. Please go out of your way to not just check this show out, but watch and support Blitzkrieg! Pro. They are one of the most wholesome, inclusive, and just best promotions out there today. Their shows literally have everything. I give a ton of credit, respect, and love to Leary and Skylar for putting together a promotion where people can just go and be their true selves. If you’re looking for a fun promotion, check this one out; it’s at the very top of my list.
