Are we about to witness the greatest comeback in professional wrestling?
Last night in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Game Changer Wrestling hosted the event, “20 Years Of Bad Boy” to celebrate the 20 year career of Joey Janela. In the main event of the show, Janela teamed with Megan Bayne to take on AEW stars Alec Price and Nick Wayne. Janela’s losing streak since losing to Brodie Lee Jr. at Joey Janela’s Spring Break X continued as he took the pin in the match.
Following the main event, Janela stated that if he loses to Marko Stunt at GCW Homecoming next week, he will no longer be a professional wrestler, as he’s gotten job offers where he no longer has to put his body on the line. But, if he wins the match, Janela promises it will be the start of the greatest comeback in professional wrestling and that he will be back on TV.
“If I win that match, it’s start of the greatest comeback in the history of this fucking business. Two years fucking sober. Wrestling better than I ever had for the last 20 fucking years. A come back you can’t write. A come back you have to see to believe. If I beat Marko Stunt next week, I promise you, my friends, I promise, my family, I promise, the fans, that I will be back on television.
That first run I had some bangers. Wrestled Moxley, Omega. But I was getting all this money, where am I gonna use it on? Booze, baby, booze, and lobster. But now, I feel like I’m more mature All my friends are there in that locker room. I’m not telling you what locker room you can just assume. I feel like I have the best head on my shoulders I’ve had in my entire career. And I want to make up for my first run, and I want to fucking climb that fucking mountain. I want to climb that fucking mountain to the top of this fucking business. I ain’t fucking finished yet.”
Janela and Stunt will face off at GCW Homecoming Part 1 on Saturday, August 15th at The Showboat in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
