From the likes of Create A Pro Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, Greektown Wrestling, and C4 Wrestling, these are five must-see matches that every fan should go back and check out. These matches include a first-ever “Tables, Lettuce, & Chairs” match, a tag team war, a singles match featuring two of the very best young guns around today, a Women’s Championship match from the great up north, and an instant classic tag team match which saw one of the greatest reigns in GCW history come to an end. Check it out down below.

5. Leo Sparrow vs. Bobby Orlando from Create A Pro’s “CAPCon”
On Sunday, August 16th, Create A Pro returned to Lynbrook, NY, for its big event, “CAPCon.” The event was absolutely stacked, featuring Rhyno making his return to Create A Pro against Evil Kip, The Shooter Boys put their CAP Tag Team Championships on the line against The Verdict, Dante Drago & Nick Robles, and Jack Tomlinson & Bobby Casale, a four-way women’s match for the CAP Women’s Championship featuring Nat Castle, Gabby Forza, Kylie Alexa, & Liviyah, and so much more. However, while all of these matches were amazing, the show stealer came in the main event as Bobby Orlando put his Create A Pro Championship on the line against the “King of Kale,” Leo Sparrow. This was no ordinary match as it was billed as a “Tables, Lettuce, and Chairs” match, making it that much more fun. Sparrow was accompanied by the legendary Steve Corino in his corner. Orlando entered this show with a 100+ day reign, defeating Leo Sparrow, Cedric Alexander, and Frankie Kazarian in a four-way match back at “Monumental Moment” in May. Orlando has been on an absolute tear lately. He is cementing himself as one of the pillars of the Northeast independent wrestling scene, and it’s easy to see why. He has the chance of a lifetime next weekend as he battles Mance Warner in an attempt to become the new IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion. This is a title that has eluded him for quite some time, but one that he could have a legitimate claim to. Orlando is not only a fan favorite, but he’s a damn good wrestler. In the ring, he’s absolutely fantastic. He can go with whoever you put in front of him. Outside of the ring, he is a fan favorite who the fans connect with like very few others around today. This speaks to not only the level of talent that Orlando possesses, but his character, inside and out of the ring. His opponent in this one, Leo Sparrow, possesses that same potential. However, Sparrow just may go about things a little bit more unethically. Sparrow is a hell of a talent, but he is also a cocky, arrogant, annoying heel that you just want to see get punched in the face. However, ironically, that’s why I love Sparrow. He is so fun to hate. He’s cocky, brash, arrogant, and has a sh*t-eating grin that you just want to see him get punched in the face because of it. It works so well. I can watch Orlando and Sparrow go at it any chance I get. They have such fun chemistry that can’t be duplicated. I urge everyone to go back and check this one out on the Create A Pro YouTube channel for free. You will not be disappointed.

4. Savage Gnomes vs. Charles Mason & SLADE from GCW’s “Homecoming 2026 Part 1”
Next on this list, on Saturday, Game Changer Wrestling returned to The Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ, for one of its biggest shows of the year, “Homecoming 2026, Part 1.” This show was absolutely stacked. We saw so many amazing matches take place, including Joseph Sawyer challenging Atticus Cogar for the GCW World Championship in a hellacious main event, Otis Cogar putting his GCW Ultraviolent Championship on the line against Anakin Murphy, a Chola Chain match between Vipress and Christian Napier, Joey Janela battling Marko Stunt in a match that, if Janela lost, he would have to retire, and so much more. However, there were two matches that really stood out to me. One of which we’ll get to later in this list because it was a bona fide tag team match of the year. The other saw the Savage Gnomes, Bear Bronson & Gabby Forza, team up to take on the frightening team of Charles Mason & Slade. Bronson and Mason have had a rivalry that has encapsulated a lot of 2026 now, across multiple different promotions. This match kind of felt like the finale to that rivalry, and it was awesome. It was bloody, brutal, and everything that I expected a match featuring these four competitors would be, and then some. Bronson and Gabby go together so well, probably because they go together so well in real life. They are a real-life couple, and that chemistry can be seen in the ring very easily. Since working with them for a lot of 2026, Mason has developed a chemistry with both Bronson and Forza that very few have had the opportunity to. Slade and Bronson go way back to Create A Pro, and have had some absolute wars there. So, that’s kind of what made this match so good. Everyone knew each other like the back of their hands, and it made for some magical wrestling. Sure, it was gruesome, bloody, and brutal, but it also told a great story. A story that I won’t spoil, but one I urge everyone to go back and check out. If this indeed was the finale of the Bronson/Mason saga, then bravo. I can watch these guys go at it again and again; they are that damn good. Bronson and Gabby are now both signed to TNA Wrestling, rightfully so. I cannot say enough good things about either of them. They are two of the top talents around today, regardless of the company. They are both fan favorites wherever they show up, except for TNA, where Bronson is enjoying being a part of the heel faction, The System, with Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, & Cedric Alexander. Nonetheless, they deserve the best, and I’m super happy to see them both crushing it on TNA. As for Mason and Slade, a lot of the same can be said about them. They are both so much fun to watch, a little bit more scary, but still a hell of a lot of fun. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: Mason has been on the best run of his career lately and deserves his flowers. He is so good. In the ring, he’s a phenomenal talent, and his character work is also top tier. Slade is one of my favorite characters around today. He’s a real-life ass kicker. He just shows up, beats some ass, and leaves. It’s my favorite thing about wrestling. I urge everyone to go check this show out on TrillerTV+.

3. Isaiah Broner vs. Devious Cass from Greektown Wrestling’s “August 15th”
On Saturday, August 15th, Greektown Wrestling returned to Toronto, ON, for its big event, “August 15th.” The show was stacked and probably one of the most fun Greektown Wrestling shows of the year. The main event saw The League’s Trent Gibson, Spencer Slade, & Bill Collier meet Channing Decker, Ortiz, and Jock Sampson in a Greektown Street Fight. This was a match that was supposed to feature Eddie Kingston, but sadly Kingston was unable to make it. Nonetheless, this was still a blast of a main event. We also saw Gisele Shaw put her MLP Women’s Championship on the line against B3CCA in a match that can only be described as* chef’s kiss*; Dani Mo battle Dreya Mitchell; Jody Threat compete in four-way action against Junior Benito, Brent Banks, and Bryce Hansen; Luigi Primo, Puf, and Jermaine Marbury compete in trios action; and so much more. There was so much good wrestling on this show. However, the most fun match of the night, ironically, was the one that kicked off the main card. “The Problem” Isaiah Broner made his way to Greektown Wrestling to take on Devious Cass in a match that featured two of the best on the independent wrestling scene today, bar none. Broner didn’t get the moniker, “the problem,” for no reason. He is a genuine problem in that ring. He just won the Scenic City Invitational Tournament, only cementing that statement to be even more true. He’s a big dude who actually looks the part of everything I love about professional wrestling. That’s what drew me to Broner. Broner is one of the most fun talents to watch around today, and whenever I see him on a card, I know it’s going to be good. As for Cass, he is someone who is taking the independent wrestling world by storm. He may be the breakout wrestler of 2026, and it’s not close. He is so good, so damn good. Everything he pulls off in the ring is so crisp and so fun to see. He pulls off stuff that I didn’t even know was possible. If you look up the word “potential” in the dictionary, a picture of Cass will show up. He has the world at his fingertips, and if he continues this way, he’s bound for success in this world. He’s already training with Nattie Neidhart and TJ at The Hart Dungeon, learning from two of the best wrestlers in the world. If that’s no indication of how good he is, I don’t know what is. Cass is just a phenomenal talent. Both Broner and Cass put on a hell of a match and had a hell of a performance. I actually felt bad for any match that had to follow them up. Unfortunately for everyone else, because Broner and Cass were the first match, it was tough for any match to follow it. However, that’s just a testament to how damn good Broner & Cass both are. Go back and check this one out on TrillerTV+.

2. Alexia Nicole vs. Zoey Serrano from C4 Wrestling’s “Fighting Back”
Next on the list, we saw C4 Wrestling return to Ottawa, ON, for one of its biggest, if not its biggest, events of the year, “Fighting Back.” This event is always so special, as C4 Wrestling puts on this show as a fundraiser to help with cancer research and fight the awful disease. As a cancer survivor myself, I cannot say how much I love and appreciate this event. This may have been my very favorite “Fighting Back” event yet. The main event saw the “25-ish Person Fighting Back Invitational” take place, where the final two came down to two of the very top women on the Canadian independent wrestling scene today. We also saw Stu Grayson put his MLP Canadian Championship on the line against a returning Joseph Sawyer, Vaughn Vertigo put his C4 Underground Championship on the line against Ring Of Honor’s Dalton Castle, Northern Thunder attempt to win the C4 Tag Team Championships from Project 8100, Amira & Leah Sparks vs. the Backslide Girlz, and Puf battle The Blade in a VERY entertaining match to kick it all off. However, bell-to-bell, the best match of the night saw Alexia Nicole put her Women’s C4 Championship on the line against a debuting Zoey Serrano, fka WWE’s Zoey Starks. Nicole has held this title for over 180 days, as she first won the title back in February at C4 Wrestling’s big all-women event, “Bring It On.” She defeated Kristara to win the first-ever Women’s C4 Championship. Since then, she’s defended it against the likes of Amira, Dreya Mitchell, and Jody Threat. Taking nothing away from any of the names mentioned, this may have been her toughest challenge to date. Nicole has never shied away from a challenge, and she remains the girl to beat up in Canada. She has worked very hard to get to this level, and now she’s a pillar in the Canadian independent wrestling scene. She has the talent, charisma, character work, and just possesses everything to back it all up. She’s finally getting her flowers, and rightfully so. She’s that damn good. As for her opponent in this one, this was a bit of a coming-out party for Serrano. Serrano officially returned to the wrestling ring for the first time since her WWE release. That’s one of the best things about the independent wrestling scene to me. It’s a chance for people to reinvent or show sides of themselves that we never knew existed. Serrano absolutely killed it in her first match back, and she and Nicole had some undeniable chemistry. I’m extremely excited to see how Serrano does on the indies, but one thing we know for sure is she’s going to soar. Go back and check out this very fun and very important C4 Wrestling event, live on the C4 Wrestling YouTube channel and on the C4 Wrestling VOD channel on IWTV.

1. KJ Orso & Sam Stackhouse vs. Bustah & The Brain from GCW’s “Homecoming 2026 Part 1”
Entering at number one for this weekend on this list, we saw Bustah & The Brain’s Alec Price & Jordan Oliver put their GCW World Tag Team Championships on the line at the big GCW “Homecoming 2026, Part 1” event. This match kicked the show off, and did so with an absolute bang. Something about opening matches being bangers… It happened a lot this weekend. The story here was no different. Price & Oliver came into this match with a 307-day reign, in their second reign with the titles. They won those titles for the second time back in October of last year when they defeated the former champions, the Brothers of Funstruction. Over the course of the next 307 days, we saw the likes of High Seas, Star Struck, Memory Museum, LaBron Kozone & Manny Lo, C4, The Bollywood Boyz, Krusty Krew, 2 Bald F*cks, Sinner & Saint, Savage Gnomes, Bobby Flaco & Terry Yaki, Bang & Matthews, The Outbreak, Unsigned And Don’t Care, Don Freeze & Ruckus, Juni Underwood & Ryan O’Neill, Charles Mason & Joey Janela, Top Team, The Butcher And The Blade, VNDL48, Controlled Kaos, The Young Guns, Janelasus, None More Violent, and even KJ Orso & Sam Stackhouse, try to take those belts off of them, to no cigar. They truly cemented themselves amongst the greats of GCW. However, when we saw them officially sign to AEW, we knew they were on borrowed time on the indies. So, we were about to enjoy every second we had left of their reign, and we did just that. They truly are one of the best tag teams around today, regardless of the company. Their opponents in this one, Orso & Stackhouse, were more ready than ever before. This was an absolute war in the best way possible. There were many near falls and many times when I truly believed both teams were going to win. This match kept me on the edge of my seat. But looking at the four names involved, I expected nothing more. Orso & Stackhouse are two of my favorite names to hate in GCW. You can hate them so easily, but you can’t deny their talent. They can go in the ring with whoever you put in front of them. Easily one of the best tandems around today on the indies. They’re just much easier to hate than other teams. Nonetheless, these four competitors made magic together to kick off one of GCW’s biggest events of the year. It was so awesome to watch, and truly is a contender for the best tag team match of the year. What a match by both teams. Go back and check this one out on TrillerTV+. This whole show was stacked, so watch the whole show.
