We have a brand new PROGRESS Wrestling Men’s World Champion!
In the main event of The Odyssey Tour: Manchester, Malakai Black defeated Cara Noir to capture the PROGRESS Men’s World Championship. Black is a former PROGRESS Tag Team Champion, alongside Michael Dante, collectively known as The Sumerian Death Squad, for six months in 2015. However, he has yet to hold the top prize in PROGRESS Wrestling until now.
Black ended the reign of one of the most dominant champions in PROGRESS Wrestling history, Cara Noir. Noir’s most recent reign lasted 126 days. He began his second reign in May when he defeated the former champion, Man Like DeReiss. He had four successful defenses this go around with the title, including wars with Charles Crowley, Spike Trivet, Man Like DeReiss and Donovan Dijak. Noir’s first reign with the title lasted much longer as he held the title for 791 days, from 2020 through 2022.
